Operation
The Evap controller controls the Evap system module based on the relative
humidity (RH) and temperature measured in the room, therefore the controller
must present in the room where you want the RH to be controlled.
The following are shown on the display of the Evap controller:
-
Functions
Humidify (HUMIDIFY). Cool (Cool) or both (AUT) is not applicable for the Brink Evap -
Status
batteries, RF connection and control.
Operation
The Evap controller communicates with the Evap system module via a wireless RF
signal (868MHz). Based on the (pre-)set values (setpoints) the controller
sends a signal to the Evap that responds to this. The (pre-)set values
(setpoints) can be adjusted by the user.
N.B.! The display switches off automatically after 8 seconds to optimise the
battery life. The controller connects 3 times per hour to the Evap system
module to update the measured values and to adjust the humidification control
to this.
Connect the Evap
To connect the Evap controller to the Evap system module the following steps must be followed::
- Evap controller
1. Remove the back of the Evap controller by unscrewing the small screw on the bottom and carefully removing the back from the front.
2. You can now see the back of the PCB. There is a pushbutton on this, see blue arrow.![BRINK 614687-F Evap Controller fig2](https://manuals.plus/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/BRINK-614687-F-Evap-Controller-fig2.jpg) **Evap system module**
3. On the bottom of the Evap system module is a small opening level with the lock symbol on the sticker on the bottom.
4. Push in the button in this opening (using a paperclip) for 1 second.
5. The Power LED will flash (1 seconde on/1 second of).

6. Then push in the button on the back of the Evap controller (blue arrow). A green light will briefly flash.
7. Check that the connection between the controller and the system module has been made by pressing on ‘MODE’ button
8. In the top left of the display the RF symbol should now be visible.
Activate the controller display
- Activate the Evap controller display:
- Press mode
- Seting the controller on RH (relative humidity)-mode:
- Press after activating, with the arrow button to setting HUM101.
- Press mode to confirm.
- On the screen a faucet is visible, the Evap is now in the humidity-setting.
- Change RH setpoint:
- Activate the controller by pressing mode.
- Ensure that the RH value is visible by pressing
- Then press the arrow button to change the RH setpoint.
- Press mode to confirm the new value.
Change temperature setpoint is not applicable for the Brink Evap

Display symbols
Symbols general:
- Wireless Communication: displays the signal strength.
- Battery: remaining life of the batteries (4 x AAA).
- Alarm: the text indicates signal. Look under Faults for explanation.
- Demand: the level of operation, the higher the demand the more bars.
Symbols relevant for the Brink Evap:
- Humidify: humidify function
- Heat: heat function. This does not mean that this is actually on or that it is present

| WATER| No rise of RH in duct| – Check that the water tap is open.
If the valve is open and there is a demand (outside temperature below 12°C), check the screen in the connection coupling, which must be clean.
– Check the operation of the water valve. Disconnect the black supply hose from the knee on the unit, and reset the unit by unplugging and re-inserting the unit; if water comes out and the water valve stops after 90 seconds, the valve is fine, the water continues to flow or no water comes out of the hose, the water valve is defective, replace the water valve. If the water valve works and the matrix does not get wet after the valve has been switched, the Legionella filter is clogged; replace the cassette.
If the matrix gets wet and still an alarm, then the matrix is dirty and the cassette needs to be replaced.
