Safety Warnings

For your continued safety and to reduce the risk of injury or electric shock, please follow all the safety precautions listed below.

  • Read all the instructions carefully before using the appliance and keep them for future reference.

  • Retain the manual. If you pass the appliance onto a third party, make sure to include this manual.

  • Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains voltage.

  • Before using this appliance, the main body as well as any attachments fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects.

  • This appliance shall not be used by children.

  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

  • Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

  • Children shall not play with the appliance.

  • If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • Do not let the mains cable overhang the edge of the work surface or allow it to touch hot surfaces or sources of heat or flame.

  • Always switch the appliance off, wait until the motor has come to a complete stop and remove the plug from the mains socket, before attempting to clean any attachments.

  • The blades are extremely sharp. To prevent injuries, take special care when handling these parts. After switching off, always wait until the motor has come to a complete stop. Do not touch any moving parts.

  • Keep fingers, hair, clothing or utensils away from moving parts.

  • Do not place your hand in the mixing bowl. The sharp blades may cause injury.

  • Always remove the plug from the mains socket after use, if a malfunction occurs and during cleaning.

  • During operation, the appliance should be placed on a scratch resistant container.

  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial applications.

  • In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the mains cable.

  • To protect from electrical hazard, do not immerse the appliance or mains cable in any liquid. Do not operate with wet or damp hands.

  • This appliance has not been designed for any other uses other than those specified in this manual.

  • After each operation, allow the hand blender to cool down before using again.

  • Do not continuously operate the appliance for too long, the motor may overheat.
    WARNING: P otential injury from misuse.

  • Always disconnect from the mains supply if left unattended, and before removing, attaching or cleaning.

  • This appliance is intended for indoor household use and similar applications such as:

    • farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environment;
    • bed and breakfast type environment;
    • catering and similar non-retail applications.
  • Make sure the unit is earthed properly during use. Use of any extension sockets must have an earth connection. If in doubt, contact a qualified electrician.

  • If the appliance becomes clogged, switch off and unplug the mains cable from the mains socket before cleaning the obstruction. Check carefully for damage.

Unpacking and Product Overview

Remove all items from the packaging. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it please do so according to local regulations.

First Time Use

  • Before the appliance is used for the first time, it must be thoroughly cleaned.
  • Always use a suitable container for operation. A tall container with a wide flat base is best.
  • Push the hand blender down into the ingredients in the bowl before briefly switching the appliance on.
  • Make sure that the appliance can rotate freely inside the bowl and is not blocked during operation.

CAUTION
Handle blades with care especially during cleaning as they are extremely sharp!

Operation

  • You can use the hand blender to make sauces, mayonnaise, purees, dietary and baby food, mixed drinks or cocktails.
  • If you need to blend directly in the saucepan while cooking, take the pan away from the stove first, to protect your hand blender from over-heating.
  • To avoid splashing, insert the hand blender into the container first, then press the Power button.
  • Press and hold the Power button for continuous blending.
  • To turn off the blender, simply release the Power button. Unplug the blender from the mains socket.
  • Always wait until the motor has come to a complete stop before lifting the blender from the mixture.

CAUTION

  • Do not run the appliance continuously for more than 1 minute. After a full 1 minute cycle allow the blender to rest for another 1 minute before using it again.
  • Never blend any hot liquids (for example, hot soup) in the blender.
  • Make sure that the appliance can rotate freely inside the bowl and is not blocked during operation.
  • When blending hard ingredients (such as ice cubes) or large amount of ingredients, it is recommended to use 2 or more blending cycles. The number of blending cycles depend on the type and amount of ingredients.
  • Always remove the mains plug from the wall socket after use.

Cleaning

  • Always remove the mains plug from the mains socket before cleaning the appliance.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the drive unit or the mains cable with water and do not immerse them in water. The drive unit may be wiped with a slightly damp, lint- free cloth.
  • Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or sharp/pointed objects for cleaning.
  • The blade can be cleaned under hot, running water. Ensure that only the blade is cleaned this way. All other parts of the appliance must be kept well away from water. To remove persistent food residues, a suitable brush may also be used.
    CAUTION
    Handle blades with care especially during cleaning as they are extremely sharp!

Storage

After cleaning and drying the blender, store it out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children.
