Appearance and Sketch

Front

  1. INPUT 1 Jack – Connect the instrument that you want to tune with a cable to the INPUT 1 jack. If a cable is connected to this jack, the INPUT 2 jack on the back will deactivate. The INPUT and OUTPUT jacks are mono, and therefore stereo cables (TRS) cannot be connected here.
  2. MODE Button – With the MODE button you can switch between the two tuning functions: Standard mand Strobe.
  3. CAL Button – Press the CAL button to change the calibration range frequency. The standard msetting is 440 Hz. Each time the CAL button is pressed, the setting changes as follows: 440Hz – 441Hz – 442Hz – 443Hz – 444Hz – 445Hz – 432Hz – 435Hz – 436Hz – 437Hz – 438Hz – 439 Hz. The StageTuner ST-02 then automatically switches back to tuning mode. After disconnecting the tuner from the power, the calibration range frequency is reset to the standard-setting.
  4. LED Tuning Display
  5. Calibration Range Frequency – Shows the currently set calibration range frequency.
  6. Calibration Display – Shows whether the input note is too high or too low.
  7. BYPASS Button – Use the BYPASS button to switch between the tuning function and a true bypass. When the tuning function is activated, the output is muted and no signal is sent to the OUTPUT jack. In BYPASS MODE the tuning function of the tuner is bypassed and the instrument signal is sent to the OUTPUT jack without being influenced.
  8. Rack-Mount Adapter

Back

  1. INPUT 2 Jack – If the StageTuner ST-02 is mounted in a 19″ rack or on a pedalboard, you can also permanently connect your instrument with the  NPUT 2 jack on the back. When a cable is connected to the INPUT 1 jack on the front, the INPUT 2 jack is deactivated.
  2. OUTPUT Jack – Connect effects pedals, amplifiers, etc. to the OUTPUT jack using a standard instrument cable. The signal sent to both INPUT jacks is routed directly to the OUTPUT jack in BYPASS MODE. Press the BYPASS button to mute the signal at the OUTPUT jack and to switch the  stage tuner ST-02 into TUNING mode.
  3. 9V DC Power Input – Connect the included power supply to this socket. Only the included power adapter (9V DC, 1,000 mA (center negative)) may be used.
  4. Strain-Relief / Cable Hook – Attach the power adapter cable to this cable hook to prevent accidental disconnection of the power adapter connector.
  5. QuickMount Type M Screw Points
  6. Screw Points for Rack-Mount Adapter

Simple Start-Up

  1. Connect the instrument that you want to tune with a cable to the INPUT 1 jack on the front or the INPUT 2 jack on the back of the tuner. Press the BYPASS button to activate the tuner.
  2. Make sure the tuner is powered and the calibration indicator on the display lights up.
  3. Configure the calibration, display mode, and bypass settings as needed.
  4. Play single notes on your instrument.
  5. Tune your instrument by using the arrow lights as orientation. The tuning display shows the note that is closest to the tone being played.

Additional Functions

  1. Tuning in Standard Mode – Tune your instrument in a way that the two inner arrows light up green and the correct note value is shown in green in the middle. If the target note is sharp, the corresponding blue arrows on the right light up. If the target note is flat, the blue arrows on the left light up.
  2. Tuning in Strobe Mode – Tune your instrument in a way that the illumination lasts. If the diodes stream from left to right, the target note is sharp. If the diodes stream from the right to the left, the target note is flat.
  3. Select the calibration range frequency – You can set the calibration individually. The standard pitch for tuning corresponds to the middle A on piano (A4), corresponding to 440 Hz.
    • Press the CAL button. The current setting is shown on the display (green frequency display is 440 Hz).
    • Press the CAL button again to change the frequency of the calibration range frequency.

Mounting

You can mount the StageTuner ST-02 in any standard 19″ rack by using the included rack-mount adapters. Simply use the supplied screws and a suitable screwdriver to attach the rack-mount adapters to the StageTuner ST-02. The adapters give the tuner the necessary width to be fitted in a 19″ rack. There are 2x 4 M4 threaded sockets on the back of the tuner to attach the RockBoard® QuickMounts® TYPE M. With these QuickMounts® the tuner can be stably attached to a RockBoard® pedalboard.
