OWNER’S MANUAL

registration of your appliance ensures that we can deliver
important product information and warranty details when you need them.
Register your Café appliance now online. Helpful websites are available in the
Consumer Support section of this Owner’s Manual. You may also mail in the pre-
printed registration card included in the
packing material.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE
APPLIANCE
Read all safety instructions before using the product. Failure to follow these
instructions may result in fire, electrical shock, serious injury, or death.
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Read all instructions.
- Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in the Owner’s Manual.
- To prevent electrical shock, unplug before cleaning.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, operate with crumb tray in place.
- A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, or walls, when in operation.
- Before performing any service, unplug the toaster.
- Do not operate unattended.
- Do not leave children alone–children should not be left alone or unattended in an area where an appliance is in use.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use lever or knobs.
- Do not touch the heating elements, toaster opening, or interior surface of toaster during or after use. Allow to cool before cleaning or handling. These surfaces may be hot enough to burn.
- To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons do not immerse cords, plugs or appliance in water or other liquid.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact Consumer Support.

- Do not use this appliance for anything other than intended use.
- Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster, as they may create a risk of fire or electric shock.
- Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
- When heating toaster pastries, always use the lightest toast color setting.
KEEP FLAMMABLE MATERIALS AWAY FROM THE TOASTER
Failure to do so may result in fire or personal injury.
- Do not store or use flammable materials in a toaster or near the toaster opening, including paper, plastic, pot holders, linens, wall coverings, curtains, drapes and gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids.
- Never wear loose-fitting or hanging garments while using the appliance. These garments may ignite if they contact hot surfaces causing severe burns.
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of
the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt
to remove the outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair
should be done only by an authorized service personnel.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
ELECTRICAL CORD
NOTE: If the power cord is damaged, please contact the warrantor listed
in the back of this manual.
- A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the cord set or extension cord should be a grounding-type-3-wire cord.

Using the Toaster
Getting Started
This appliance is for household use only.
- Remove all packing materials, any stickers and the plastic band around the power plug.
- To register your product, go to cafeappliances.com.
- Wash all parts as instructed in Care and Cleaning section.
- Select a level surface where this unit is to be used allowing enough space for steam to escape without damage to counters, cabinets and walls.
- Set the browning level to maximum (8). Operate the appliance empty, to cure the new elements. This may smell a bit, but it’s nothing to worry about. Ensure the room is well ventilated.
Toasting Bread
- Set the toaster upright on a firm, level, heat-resistant surface.
- Put the plug into the power socket.
- Turn the browning control to the required setting (1 = light, 8 = dark).
- Put bread into the toasting slots (maximum thickness 25mm).
- Press the lever down fully. It won’t lock down unless the toaster is connected to the electricity supply.
Frozen Bread
- Leave the browning control at your preferred setting, insert the frozen bread, lower the lever, then press the “Frozen” button.
- The light will come on.
- The toast will pop up when ready.
Bagels
- Insert sliced bagel into the slots with cut side toward the outside of the toaster.
- Leave the browning control at your preferred setting, lower the lever, then press the “Bagel” button.
- The bagel will pop up when ready.
Express Finish
Express Finish will activate extra heating elements on your bread, toasting
faster than the regular toasting function. Individual toasting levels may vary
on the type of bread and how it is stored.
- Insert sliced bread into toasting slots and select preferred toasting shade.
- Lower the lever then press the Express Finish button.
- Toast will pop up when ready.
Cancel
Pressing the “Cancel” button will stop toasting.
Crumb Tray
The crumb tray is located on the right hand side of the toaster. Push to
release it from the toaster and pull out to discard any crumbs, debris. Insert
crumb tray by pushing all the way back into the unit.
Care and Cleaning
Follow these guidelines for cleaning and caring for your Toaster:
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
- To remove crumbs from the appliance, gently slide out the crumb tray from the appliance and empty it. Replace tray when finished.
- Do not insert foreign objects into slots.
- Do not hold the appliance upside down and do not shake it to remove the crumbs.
- Clean the body of the appliance with a damp cloth.
- DANGER: Never immerse the appliance in water or a dishwasher.
- Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
- Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
Troubleshooting

Problem | Solution |

Bread gets stuck in appliance | Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. |
Carefitlly remove the bread from the toaster. Take care not to damage the
heating elements when you remove the bread. Never use a metal object for this
purpose.
Toast is too light/too dark| Check the browning setting selected for toasting.
Select a lower setting next time if your toast is too dark and a higher
setting if your toast is too light. Also, check that the frozen button is not
selected.
The bread pops up almost immediately without having been toasted.| Make sure
you push down the toasting lever all the way.
Smoke comes out of the toaster.| Push the cancel button to stop the toasting
process. Empty crumb tray if it is hull and clean if needed.
The cord is damaged.| If the cord to this appliance is damaged, it must always
be replaced by a service center.

Appliances will either replace or refurbish your product with a new or
remanufactured product, or refund

- Improper installation, delivery, or maintenance.
- Failure of the product if it is abused, misused, or used for other than the intended purpose or used commercially.
- Damage caused after delivery.
- Damage to the product caused by accident, fire, floods or acts of God.
- Incidental or consequential damage caused by possible defects with this appliance.
- Software bugs that can be corrected with an update via the Café App
- Labor and other charges to install and/or remove the product
EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES
Your sole and exclusive remedies are product exchange or refund as provided in
this Limited Warranty. Any implied warranties, including the implied
warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited
to one year or the shortest period allowed by law.
For sale in the 50 United States, District of Columbia, and Canada only:
This limited warranty is extended to the original purchaser for products
purchased for home use within the USA. In Alaska and Hawaii, the limited
warranty does not include the costs of shipping units. California residents
may gave additional return options. Please ask call center for additional
information.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you
may also have other rights which vary from state to state. To know what your
legal rights are, consult your local or state consumer affairs office or your
state’s Attorney General.
