LUCID Keyless Entry System

Key Fob and NFC Card

Your vehicle is delivered with two keyless entry system sets, each containing a key fob, lanyard, and Near-Field Communication (NFC) card.

Using the NFC Card

The NFC card is used within close range of the vehicle only, and is ideal for use as a backup entry device when needed. You might use or lend out the NFC card when:.

Using a valet parking service
Leaving your vehicle to be serviced or repaired at a Lucid Service Center
Experiencing key fob issues (e.g. misplaced or low battery)

Hold the NFC card within 2 in (5 cm) of the sensor on the left B pillar to lock or unlock the doors.

Using the Key Fob

WARNING: The keyless entry system uses low-frequency radio transmissions that might interfere with implanted medical devices. To avoid any possibility of interference, keep such medical devices away from any transmitters.
WARNING: To avoid accidental operation of the vehicle’s systems by other occupants, do not leave a key fob in an unattended vehicle.
CAUTION: To ensure your vehicle is left in a secure state, remove all key fobs from the vehicle before leaving it unattended.

Key fob range
The key fob communicates with receivers in the vehicle via Bluetooth® Low Energy and low-frequency radio communication. While it is not necessary to point your key fob at the vehicle, it must be within operating range to work.
Note: The key fob operating range can vary, depending upon environmental factors. Other nearby radio transmitters (e.g. amateur or CB radios, radio or television stations, airports) may interfere with communications between the key fob and the vehicle. Therefore, the ranges listed in this manual are approximate. In cases of interference, it may be necessary to move closer to the vehicle than usual in order to operate the key fob

Zone	Range
A	> 82 ft (25 m) = Out of range
B	82 ft (25 m) – 26 ft (8 m)
C	26 ft (8 m) – 6.5 ft (2 m)
D	<6.5 ft (<2 m)
E	Inside vehicle

The key fob can be operated manually once it is detected within zone B or closer. Upon entering zone D while carrying a key fob, all doors automatically unlock and present their handles. When leaving your vehicle while carrying a key fob, all doors automatically lock and any presented door handles retract upon entering zone B.

Upon entering zone B or closer, the key fob should be within range of the vehicle

Once within range, the key fob operates as follows:

Press once to lock all doors and the trunk.
Press twice to unlock all doors and the trunk.
Press and hold within zone D of the front or rear trunk to unlock and open.

Key fob troubleshooting

If the key fob does not respond when pressed:

Try operating the key fob as closely to your vehicle as possible. Other radio equipment operating on a similar frequency may interfere with the signals from your key fob.
The key fob battery may need to be replaced. See Replacing the Key Fob Battery, page 17. If you are still unable to unlock your vehicle with the key fob, use the NFC (Near-Field Communication) card. See= Using the NFC Card, page 15. Contact a Lucid Service Center if the problem persists.

Replacing the Key Fob Battery

WARNING:
The key fobs supplied with your vehicle contain a coin/button type battery. The batteries contain toxic and corrosive substances. If a battery is swallowed it can cause serious internal burns and may even lead to death.

Keep new and used batteries out of
the reach of children.
If you think batteries may have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical help.

WARNING: If the cover for the key fob will not close securely, stop using the key fob and keep it out of the reach of children. Contact a Lucid Service Center for a replacement key fob.
WARNING: Risk of explosion if an incorrect battery is installed. Only install a battery which is identical to the battery specified.
The key fob battery is type CR2032 and lasts for about 1 year, depending upon how often it is used.
If the vehicle detects that the key fob battery is low, an alert will display on the Instrument Cluster.
Note: To avoid complications with the vehicle systems, it is important to replace a low key fob battery as soon as possible.

To replace the key fob battery:

Remove the battery cover.
Remove the old battery.
Avoid touching the flat surfaces of the new battery if possible, as finger marks can reduce battery life. Wipe the battery clean before installation. Fit the battery with the “+” side facing upwards.
Replace the battery cover.
ENVIRONMENTAL: Used batteries must be disposed of correctly, as they contain harmful substances. Refer to local regulations.

Attaching a Lanyard

A small lanyard is supplied with your key fob. To attach a lanyard:

Thread the loop of the lanyard through the small opening at the base of the key fob.
Thread the strap through the loop.
Pull the strap through the loop until it is tight.

Caring for the Key Fob

CAUTION: To protect the electronic circuitry inside, do not expose the key fob to:

Impacts
Liquids
High temperatures (including prolonged sunlight exposure)
Waxes, solvents, or abrasive cleaners Replacement Key Fobs If you lose a key fob, contact a Lucid Service Center to obtain a replacement. If ordering a new key fob, all available key fobs and NFC (Near-Field Communication) cards for the vehicle must be brought to the Lucid Service Center in order to reprogram the system.

Type Approval

US
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

This device may not cause harmful interference, and
This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. End users
must follow the specific operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

Canada
This device complies with Industry Canada’s license-exempt RSSs. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

This device may not cause interference; and
This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.

Opening Doors from the Outside

Opening doors
The door handles will extend when:

A valid key fob is detected within 6.5 ft (2 m) of the vehicle.
A valid key fob or NFC card is detected within 2 in (5 cm) of the sensor on the left B pillar, and the door handle is pressed.
The key fob is pressed twice to unlock the doors. See Using the Key Fob, page 15.
The mobile app is used to unlock the doors.

Once a handle extends, pull up on it to open that door.
Note: If a door handle is not opened within 60 seconds of presenting, it will retract. Any of the opening methods in this section can be used to extend it again.
Note: In the event of a collision, all exterior door handles will present if there is still available power and the door units were not damaged.

Closing doors
The door handles retract when:

All valid key fobs leave the 6.5 ft (2 m) detection radius of the vehicle.
A valid key fob or NFC card is detected within 2 in (5 cm) of the sensor on the left B pillar, and the door handle is pressed.
The key fob is pressed once to lock the doors.
The mobile app is used to lock all doors. Close a door by manually pushing it until you feel the power cinch motor take over and pull it closed.

Opening Doors from the Inside
Pull the switch on an interior handle to open a door. If a door is locked, unlock it by pulling the switch once. Pull a second time to open the door.
Note: To prevent children from using the interior handles to open the rear doors, see Child Safety Locks, page 21.
Note: All electrical unlocking and opening by the interior door handles is disabled when the vehicle is in motion.

Door Ajar Warning
Whenever a door is open, the red Door Ajar warning indicator (telltale) will be displayed on the Instrument Cluster.

Any open doors will be displayed on the vehicle overview image on the Instrument Cluster, outlined in red.

If the gear is in D (Drive) or R (Reverse), any opened door will be highlighted red.

Locking and Unlocking from

Inside the Vehicle The doors and trunk can be locked and unlocked from inside the vehicle using the touch screens on the left Cockpit Panel or the Pilot Panel. To lock or unlock all the doors:

On the left Cockpit Panel, press the lock/unlock icon.
On the Pilot Panel, select > QUICK CONTROLS and press the lock/unlock icon.
On the Pilot Panel, select > DOORS and press the lock/ unlock icon. When pressed, the icon will change to a locked or unlocked symbol, indicating the current state of the door locks.

Child Safety Locks

WARNING: For their safety, the child safety locks should be activated whenever children are seated in the rear seats. There is a risk of death or serious injury if a child operates the rear doors.
WARNING: Never leave children unsupervised in a vehicle. Your vehicle is equipped with child safety locks on both rear doors. This system prevents occupants from opening the rear doors using the interior door handles.
Note: The exterior door handles will still operate according to the current locked status of the vehicle.
On the Pilot Panel, select > DOORS and press the CHILD LOCK button to activate or deactivate this feature. The CHILD LOCK button will illuminate when child safety locks are activated.

Automatic Locking and unlocking
When the speed of the vehicle reaches 15 mph (24 km/h), all doors will automatically lock. When the speed falls below 15 mph (24 km/h), they will unlock automatically. If an event causes the airbags to deploy,
all doors will automatically unlock but remain latched. See Airbags, page 51.

Opening Interior Doors with No Power
If the vehicle loses power, every door can still be opened from the interior using the door handle. To open from inside, pull the interior handle twice.
Note: Child safety locks will be unavailable in the event of a power loss, even if they were enabled before the vehicle lost power (see Child Safety Locks, page 21).

Windows Safety

WARNING: Children, other passengers, or objects can be trapped by the moving windows. Always operate the windows with caution.

Do not allow children to play with the window switches.
Never stick objects or body parts through an open window.

WARNING:
On hot days, the temperature in the vehicle interior can rise very quickly. Exposure to these high temperatures for even a short period of time can cause heat-related injury or death. Small children and animals are particularly at risk, and should never be left unattended in a vehicle.

Opening and Closing Windows
The power windows can be operated when the vehicle is powered on.
The driver’s door window switches control all windows in the vehicle. Pull up or press down on a switch to raise or lower the associated window.

To automatically raise or lower a window fully, push or pull the switch past the resistance point and then release it. Pushing or pulling the switch again will stop the motion.

To partially raise or lower a window, gently push or pull the switch up to the resistance point. Release when the desired position is reached.
Each passenger door contains a window switch for its associated window.
Note: The windows will automatically stop closing and open slightly if an obstruction is detected

Inhibiting rear window operation

WARNING: Whenever children are seated in the rear seats, the window locks should be activated for their safety. There is a risk of death or serious injury if a child operates the rear windows.
WARNING: Never leave children unsupervised in a vehicle.
The rear windows can be operated from the switches on the rear doors when the window lock has not been activated. To prevent passengers from operating the rear window switches, the window lock feature can be activated from either the left Cockpit Panel or the Pilot Panel.

On the Pilot Panel, select DOORS and press the WINDOW LOCK button to activate or deactivate this feature.
On the left Cockpit Panel, press the window lock icon to activate or deactivate this feature.

The WINDOW LOCK button will illuminate when child safety locks are activated.

Rear window sunshade

• On the home screen of the Rear Center Console Display, select SUNSHADE and press the button to EXTEND or STOW the rear window sunshade.
• On the Pilot Panel, select > DOORS and press the sunshade icon to raise or lower the rear window sunshade.

Hood Opening and Closing
When the hood is unlatched, the red Door Ajar warning indicator (telltale) will be displayed on the Instrument Cluster.

If unlatched, the hood will be outlined in red on the vehicle overview image on the Instrument Cluster.

If the gear is in D (Drive) or R (Reverse) and the hood is unlatched, it will be highlighted red.

Opening the hood

WARNING: Never work on a vehicle that is plugged in. Always remember to unplug the vehicle before working under the hood or underneath the vehicle.
Note: All electrical unlatching of the hood is disabled when the vehicle is in motion.
The hood can be unlatched with any of the following methods:

Use the Lucid mobile app.
On the Pilot Panel, select QUICK CONTROLS and press the hood release icon.
On the Pilot Panel, select DOORS and press the hood release icon.
Press and hold the key fob within 6.5 ft (2 m) of the front trunk.

Once you have successfully unlatched the hood:

Raise the hood.
The hood has two gas struts to aid in opening and to hold it in the open position.
Ensure the hood is raised to the fully open position.

Note: In extremely cold temperatures, you may find that the gas struts do not hold the hood open as firmly as they do in warmer temperatures.

Closing the hood

WARNING: Always check the area around the hood for obstructions (such as people or objects) before closing the hood. Failure to do so could result in serious injury to a person or damage to the vehicle.
CAUTION: Do not use excessive force when closing the hood, as the hood panel could be damaged.

Gently lower the hood until it is almost closed.
Place your hands on top of the hood at the points illustrated, then gently press until you feel the power auto-cinch take over to pull it closed.
After closing, check that the latch is fully engaged by attempting to lift the front edge of the hood. The hood should be free from all movement.

Accessing the Front Cargo Area
CAUTION: Overloading your vehicle can cause severe damage. Never load more than ?? lb (?? kg) onto the cargo cover, or more than ?? lb (?? kg) into the lower cargo area.
To access the lower cargo area inside the front trunk, pull up on the handle of the cargo cover.
The cargo cover is not attached to the vehicle, and can be folded back or removed completely if necessary.
Hood Interior Emergency Release
If a person is trapped inside the front trunk, the hood can be opened from inside by pressing the interior release button.

Trunk Opening and Closing

WARNING: Be aware of the risk of serious injury when operating the trunk. Before opening or closing, make sure that no one is in the path of the trunk who could be injured by its movement.
CAUTION: When operating the trunk manually, open and close it slowly. If you encounter resistance, do not use force. This could lead to damage and loss of function.
The vehicle must be in P (Park) to allow the trunk to operate. If the trunk is not fully closed when the vehicle is shifted out of P (Park), the system will illuminate the Door Ajar warning indicator (telltale) on the Instrument Cluster.
If unlatched, the trunk will be outlined in red on the vehicle overview image on the Instrument Cluster.
If the gear is in D (Drive) or R (Reverse) and the trunk is unlatched, it will be highlighted red.
Opening the trunk
The trunk can be unlocked and opened by any of the following methods:

Use the Lucid mobile app.
On the Pilot Panel, select QUICK CONTROLS and press the trunk release icon.
On the Pilot Panel, select DOORS and press the trunk release icon.
Press and hold the key fob within 6.5 ft (2 m) of the trunk.

Closing the trunk
To close the trunk, do one of the following:

Press and release the close button on the lower edge of the deck lid.
Manually pull the deck lid down until the power cinch engages to close it.

Automatic movement stop
If anything obstructs the deck lid with enough force to prevent it from opening or closing, it will stop moving.
Note: The Instrument Cluster will alert you if the deck lid stops automatically. If the deck lid stops automatically due to an obstruction, remove the obstruction and try to open or close it again. If it cannot be opened or closed a second time, try to operate it manually.

Accessing the Rear Cargo Area
CAUTION: Overloading your vehicle can cause severe damage. Never load more than ?? lb (?? kg) onto the cargo cover of the rear trunk, or more than ?? lb (?? kg) into the lower cargo area.

To access the lower cargo area inside the rear trunk, pull up on the handle of the cargo cover.
The cargo cover is not attached to the vehicle, and can be folded back or removed completely if necessary.

Trunk Interior Emergency Release
A mechanical release located on the inside of the trunk allows you to open the trunk from the inside if the vehicle has no electrical power.
Note: The mechanical release will also allow a person trapped inside to get out.

Pull the handle firmly to the right to release the trunk latch.
Push upwards on the deck lid to open the trunk.

Anti-Theft System
The Air Alert System is automatically enabled after you exit the vehicle and the key fob is no longer detected. When sensors detect an unauthorized attempt to access or tow the vehicle, this anti-theft system will activate flashing lights, an alarm, and send a push notification to the Lucid app. You can temporarily disable the Air Alert System for certain situations, such as changing a tire or when towing the vehicle is authorized.
