To use the BIuPTT on ANDROID:

  1. Make sure Bluetooth services are turned on on your phone.

  2. Press Power Button on BIuPTT and hold 5 seconds.
    a. This will place BIuPTT in pairing mode with LED Indicator flashing in red and blue alternately.
    b. Troubleshooting
    Tip: i. If BIuPTT LED Indicator begins flashing just in blue rapidly instead, please double press Power Button to place BIuPTT into pairing mode.

  3. Go into Android smartphone and open compatible PTT app
    (Note: Not all PTT app LA’s are the same, so check with your PTT App developer for more details on BT pairing/connecting)
    a. Zello PTT App example:
    i. Log in—)Option—>push-to-talk buttons.
    ii. Click “+ ” in the right-bottom corner, wait for them to connect.
    iii. Once connected successfully, BIuPTT LED Indicator will change from Blue/Red alternately to Blue flashing.
    Then press PTT on BIuPTT to confirm the function with the Zello app.
    iv. Troubleshooting
    Tip: For the Zello App on Android. make sure you go into Android Settings:

  • Find all PoC apps downloaded and the “force stop’ button is greyed out (shut down to avoid conflicting apps).
  • Go to Connections/Bluetooth and make sure BT is turned on, & “unpair” all other Bluetooth devices from the list.
  • Press the PTT button for 5 seconds for discovery mode (blue and red alternating LED light).
  • You should SEE the Blu-PTT in the list, but DO NOT pair it here, just allow Zello to do that (next step).
  • Now go to the Zello app. open it and touch the (3 dotted lines in the upper right corner of the app).”

To use the BIuPTT on APPLE:

  1. Make sure Bluetooth services are turned on on your phone.

  2. Press Power Button on BIuPTT and hold 5 seconds.
    a. This will place BIuPTT in pairing mode with LED Indicator flashing in red and blue alternately.
    b. Troubleshooting
    Tip: i. If BIuPTT LED Indicator begins flashing just in blue rapidly instead, please double press the Power Button to place BIuPTT into pairing mode.

  3. Go into iOS and open compatible PTT app
    (Note: Not all PTT app lilts are the same, so check with your PTT App developer for more details on BT pairing/connecting)
    a. Zello PTT example:
    i. Log in —)Option—)PTT buttons—) Add new device—)find “Blu-PTT” and click to connect.
    ii. Once connected successfully, BIuPTT LED Indicator will change from Blue/Red alternately to Blue flashing.
    Then press PTT on BIuPTT to confirm the function with the Zello app.

BIuPTT Battery Level LED Legend

  • Battery status:
    o LED Indicator can show battery status immediately after BluPTT is powered on (before accessing pairing mode).

  • If LED Indicator flashes red twice, that signals lower than 25% battery.

  • If LED Indicator flashes violet (red and blue mixed) twice, that signals 25%-50% battery.

  • If LED Indicator flashes violet (red and blue mixed) three times, that signals50%-90% battery.

  • If LED Indicator flashes in blue three times that signals full battery ( higher than 90% battery).

  • If LED Indicator stays in a solidly red state when charging, this means the battery is charging.

  • If LED Indicator stays in the solid green state when charging then the battery is full.
    o, Disconnect from charging cable and transformer.
