INSTALLING THE HEADSET ON YOUR HELMET
Boom Microphone Type

Peel off the hook fasteners for the speakers and attach them on the back sides of the speakers.

Attach the loop fasteners for the speakers in the deep ear pockets of your helmet. Then place the speakers in the helmet along with the hook and loop fasteners, centered to your ear.
Note: Locate the boom microphone as closely as possible to your mouth when wearing the helmet. -
Hide the wire under the helmet padding after the installation.
Universal Microphone Type

Peel off the hook fasteners for the speakers and attach them on the back sides of the speakers.

Attach the loop fasteners for the speakers in the deep ear pockets of your helmet. Then place the speakers in the helmet along with the hook and loop fasteners, centered to your ear.

Locate a suitable surface on the left side of your helmet to attach the unit, clean the location with a moistened towel, and allow to dry thoroughly. Make sure that the control unit sticks on the helmet firmly. Maximum adhesion occurs after 24 hours.

1. Attach the hook and loop fastener for the wired boom microphone between the internal helmet cheek pad and the internal wall of the helmet shell. Place the wired boom microphone on the hook and loop fastener and attach the microphone connector to the 2 pin connector of the main unit cable. The microphone should be mounted so it is positioned close to your mouth when you are wearing the helmet.
Note: You can use the wired boom microphone holder after attaching the hook and loop fastener for wired boom microphone holder on it to ensure secure installation.
2. Attach the hook and loop fastener for the wired microphone to the inside of the chin guard for full face helmets. Place the wired microphone on the hook and loop fastener.

Hide the wire under the helmet padding after the installation.

Sena Utility App
By simply pairing your phone with your headset, you can use the Sena
Utility App for quicker, easier setup and management.

– Android: Google Play Store > Sena Utility
– iOS: App Store > Sena Utility
Sena Device Manager
The Sena Device Manager allows you to upgrade firmware and configure
settings directly from your PC. Download the Sena Device Manager from
www.sena.com.
Powering On and Off
To power on the headset, press and hold the (+) Button and the (-) Button for 1 second. To power off the headset, tap the (+) Button and the (-) Button.
Charging
The headset will be fully charged in about 3 hours. The charging time may vary depending on the charging method.
Note:
- Please make sure to take off your headset while charging. The headset automatically turns off during charging.
- Any 3rd party USB charger can be used with Sena products if the charger is approved by either the FCC, CE, IC or other locally approved agencies that Sena accepts.
- The headset is compatible with 5 V/1 A input USB-charged devices only
Checking the Battery Level
When the headset is powering on, the red LED flashes rapidly
indicating the battery level.
4 flashes = High, 70 ~ 100%
3 flashes = Medium, 30 ~ 70%
2 flashes = Low, 0 ~ 30%
Volume Adjustment
You can raise or lower the volume by tapping the (+) Button or the (-) Button. Volume is set and maintained independently at different levels for each audio source, even when the headset is rebooted.
PAIRING THE HEADSET WITH OTHER BLUETOOTH DEVICES
When using the headset with other Bluetooth devices for the first time, they will need to be “paired.” This enables them to recognize and communicate with one another whenever they are within range. The headset can pair with multiple Bluetooth devices such as a mobile phone, GPS, MP3 player or Sena SR10 Two-Way Radio Adapter via Mobile Phone Pairing, Second Mobile Phone Pairing and GPS Pairing.
Phone Pairing
There are three ways to pair the phone.
Initially Pairing the headset
The headset will automatically enter the phone pairing mode when you initially
turn on the headset or in the following situations:
- Rebooting after executing Factory Reset; o
- Rebooting after executing Delete All Pairings.

Press and hold the (+) Button and (-) Button for 1 second.

You will hear a voice prompt, “Phone pairing”.

Search for Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone. Select Sena 3S PLUS in the list of devices detected.

If your mobile phone asks for a PIN, enter 0000.
Note:
- The phone pairing mode lasts for 3 minutes.
- To cancel pairing, tap the (+) Button or (-) Button.
Pairing When the Headset Is Turned Off
- While the headset is turned off, press and hold the (+) Button and (-) Button for 5 seconds.
- You will hear a voice prompt, “Phone pairing”.
- Search for Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone. Select Sena 3S PLUS in the list of devices detected.
- If your mobile phone asks for a PIN, enter 0000.
Pairing When the Headset Is Turned On
- While the headset is turned on, press and hold the (+) Button for 5 seconds.
- You will hear a voice prompt, “Phone pairing”.
- Search for Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone. Select Sena 3S PLUS in the list of devices detected.
- If your mobile phone asks for a PIN, enter 0000.
Second Mobile Phone Pairing – Second Mobile Phone and SR10
- To enter the configuration menu, press and hold the (+) Button for 10 seconds until you hear a voice prompt, “Configuration menu”.
- Tap the (+) Button until you hear a voice prompt, “Second mobile phone pairing”.
- Search for Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone. Select Sena 3S PLUS in the list of devices detected.
- If your mobile phone asks for a PIN, enter 0000.
GPS Pairing
- To enter the configuration menu, press and hold the (+) Button for 10 seconds until you hear a voice prompt, “Configuration menu”.
- Tap the (+) Button until you hear a voice prompt, “GPS pairing”.
- Search for Bluetooth devices on the GPS navigation screen. Select Sena 3S PLUS in the list of devices detected.
- If your mobile phone asks for a PIN, enter 0000.
Note: If you have a mobile phone and a GPS connected to your headset, you may not be able to listen to the GPS voice instruction during the phone call.
MOBILE PHONE USAGE
Mobile Phone Call Making and Answering
- When you have an incoming call, simply tap the (+) Button to answer the call.
- You can also answer the incoming call by loudly speaking any word of your choice if VOX Phone is enabled, unless you are connected to intercom.
- To end a call, press the (+) Button for 2 seconds, or wait for the called person to end the call.
- To reject a call, press the (-) Button for 2 seconds while the phone is ringing.
- There are several ways to make a phone call:

Enter numbers on your mobile phone’s keypad and make a call.
Then the call is automatically transferred to the headset. -
In stand-by mode, press the (+) Button for 3 seconds, to activate the voice dialing of your mobile phone. For this, the voice dialing function must be available on the mobile phone. Refer to your mobile phone manual for further instruction.

To redial the last number, press and hold the (-) Button for 3 seconds in stand-by mode until you hear a high tone single beep. You will hear a voice prompt, “Last number redial”.

- To play or pause music, press and hold the (+) Button for 1 second.
- To track forward or track back, press and hold the (+) Button or the (-) Button for 2 seconds
BLUETOOTH INTERCOM
Intercom Pairing
Pairing with Other Headsets for Intercom Conversation
The headset can be paired with another headset for Bluetooth intercom conversation.
- Press and hold the (-) Button of the headset A and B for 5 seconds until red LEDs of the both units start to flash rapidly.
- Simply tap the (-) Button of any one of the two headsets A and B, and wait until the LEDs of both headsets turn to blue and intercom connection is automatically established.
Two-Way Intercom
Starting and Ending Two-Way Intercom
To start an intercom conversation, press and hold the (-) Button for 1
second.
To terminate an intercom conversation, press and hold the (-) Button for
1 second again.
UNIVERSAL INTERCOM
Universal Intercom allows you to have Two-way intercom conversations with
users of non-Sena Bluetooth headsets. Non-Sena Bluetooth headset can be
connected to the Sena Bluetooth headset if they support the Bluetooth Hands-
Free Profile (HFP). You can pair the headset with only one non-Sena headset at
a time. The intercom distance depends on the performance of the Bluetooth
headset to which it’s connected.
When a non-Sena Bluetooth headset is paired with the headset, if another
Bluetooth device is paired via Second Mobile Phone Pairing, it will be
disconnected.
- Press and hold the (+) Button for 10 seconds to enter the configuration menu.
- Tap the (+) Button until you hear a voice prompt, “Universal intercom pairing”.
- Tap the (-) Button to enter into Universal Intercom Pairing mode.
- Put the non-Sena Bluetooth headset in Pairing Mode. The headset will automatically pair with a non-Sena Bluetooth headset.
FUNCTION PRIORITY
The headset operates in the following order of priority:
(Highest) Mobile phone Intercom
(Lowest) Bluetooth stereo music
A lower priority function is always interrupted by a higher priority function.
CONFIGURATION SETTING
Headset Configuration Setting
- To enter configuration menu, press and hold the (+) Button for 10 seconds until you hear a voice prompt, “Configuration menu”.
- Tap the (+) Button to navigate between the menus. You will hear voice prompts for each menu item.
- You can execute the command by tapping the (-) Button.

Delete All Pairings
You can delete all Bluetooth pairing information of the headset.
Factory Reset
You can restore factory default settings on the headset.
Software Configuration Setting
You can change the settings of the headset through the S ena Device
Manager or the Sena Utility App.
Unit Language
You can select the device language. The selected language is maintained even
when the headset is rebooted.
VOX Phone (Default: Enable)
If this feature is enabled, you can answer incoming calls by voice. When you
hear a ringtone for an incoming call, you can answer the phone by saying a
word such as “Hello” loudly or by blowing air into the microphone.
VOX phone is temporarily disabled if you are connected to intercom. If
this feature is disabled, you have to tap the (+) Button to answer an
incoming call.
HD Intercom (Default: Enable)
HD Intercom enhances the two-way intercom audio from normal
quality to HD quality
Note: The intercom distance of HD Intercom is relatively shorter than that of normal intercom.
HD Voice (Default: Enable)
HD Voice allows you to communicate in high-definition during phone calls.
This feature increases the quality so that the audio will be crisp and clear
during phone call conversations. If this feature is enabled, incoming phone
calls will interrupt intercom conversations and audio from the SR10 will not
be heard during intercom conversations.
Note: Refer to the manufacturer of your Bluetooth device that will be
connected to the headset to see if it supports HD Voice.
Voice Prompts (Default: Enable)
You can disable voice prompts by software configuration settings, but the
following voice prompts are always on.
– Headset configuration settings menu
Advanced Noise Control™ (Default: Enable)
When Advanced Noise Control is enabled, the background noise is reduced during
an intercom conversation. When it is disabled, the background noise is mixed
with your voice during intercom.
FIRMWARE UPGRADE
The headset supports firmware upgrades. You can update firmware using the Sena Device Manager. Please visit Sena Bluetooth website at www.sena.com to check the latest software downloads.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Fault Reset
When the headset is not working properly, you can easily reset the unit.
- Locate the Pin-hole Reset Button on the left speaker unit.
- Gently insert a paperclip into the hole and press the Pin-hole Reset Button with light pressure.
• The headset will automatically be turned off and a fault reset will occur.
Note: Fault Reset will not restore the headset to the factory default settings.
Factory Reset
If you want to restore the headset to factory default settings, use the
Factory Reset in the configuration menu. The headset automatically
restores the default settings and turns off.
