Installation requirements
Service engineers/technicians responsible for the installation must comply or fulfill the following requirements:
- Only trained service engineers authorized by Hamilton Medical are allowed to service, maintain, install, and replace parts/components of the ventilator.
- Disconnect the ventilator unit from the AC power source and remove the batteries before you install the replacement Control Board.
- After you have completed the installation of the Control Board, you must calibrate and test the ventilator as described in the Service Software Chapter of the HAMILTON-C1 Service Manual (PN 624338) or the HAMILTON-T1 Service Manual (PN 624393) for the applicable device.
Equipment, tools, and materials
The following equipment and materials are required for the installation:
- HAMILTON-C1/T1 ventilator with SW version SW v3.0.x and HCM installed
- Control board with HCM. See List of parts on page 3.
- Tools and test equipment as described in the HAMILTON-C1/T1 latest service manual.
- The latest version of documentation:
– HAMILTON-C1/T1 Control Board with HCM Installation Guide (this guide, PN
- – HAMILTON-C1 Service Manual (PN 624338) or HAMILTON-T1 Service Manual (PN
-
– Hamilton Connect Communication Guide (PN10102528)
– Hamilton Connect Configuration Tool User Guide (PN 10110032).
Preparation
-
Start the ventilator in Service software mode.
-
Insert a USB drive into the USB port on the left side of the ventilator.
-
Export the Technical state and Instrument report: touch Technical state >
Transfer > Export. -
Record the Blower timer and the Operating hours. This information is required for setting the Technical state after you have completed the installation.
See Section 7 – Ventilator setup. -
Turn off the ventilator.
-
Disconnect the power cord of the ventilator from the AC power supply if connected.
Make sure you use an applicable electrostatic discharge (ESD) device such as ESD wrist strap to equalize your body’s charge with the device’s charge before you open or handle electronic parts of the HAMILTON-C1/T1 ventilator. This will help protect the electronic components of the device from ESD damage.
-
Remove the backup batteries from the ventilator if installed.
-
Carefully remove the Control Board including the Top Foam, ESM Shielding Housing, and ESM Board from the device. For details on how to remove these parts, refer to the Removal/Installation Chapter of the HAMILTON-C1 Service Manual (PN 624338) or HAMILTON-T1 Service Manual (PN 624393) for the applicable device.
-
Carefully remove the ESM Shielding Housing and ESM Board from the old Control Board with HCM. Note that the ESM Shielding Housing and ESM Board will be installed on the new Control Board with HCM later. See Section 5 – Hardware installation.
Hardware installation
Make sure you use an applicable electrostatic discharge (ESD) device such as ESD wrist strap to equalize your body’s charge with the device’s charge before you open or handle electronic parts of the HAMILTON-C1/T1 ventilator. This will help protect the electronic components of the device from ESD damage.
Installation of the control board with HCM, ESM board, and ESM shielding
- Install the ESM Board and ESM Shielding Housing on the new Control Board with HCM.
