KNOW YOUR DEVICE

Indications for Use
Non-contact Forehead IR Thermometer is specially designed to take the body temperature of a person (or pet) regardless of room temperature without contact to human body. Depending on various skin types and thickness, there may be temperature difference.

WARNING

  • Contact your physician if you suspect you have a medical issue.
  • This device cannot / does not diagnose any medical condition or illness.
  • This device may display an inaccurate result due to external interference; retest as necessary.
  • Do not attempt to modify this device in any way.
  • Store this device in a cool, dry place. Do not subject this device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or sunlight. This device might not meet performance specifications if stored or used outside the ranges specified in the “Specifications” section. Keep away from rain.
  • Do not immerse this device in water or clean with cleaning products, alcohol, or solvents. Carefully follow cleaning instructions provided.
  • Remove batteries if this device will not be used for three or more months.
  • Ensure that the device is used in the environment specified in the EMC declaration in this IM, otherwise, may result in improper operation.
  • Use of this device adjacent to or stacked with other device should be avoided because it could result in improper operation.
  • This electrical medical equipment requires specific precautions regarding electromagnetic compatibility. It must be installed and used according to the electromagnetic information.
  • Do not use this device where flammable gases or liquids are present.
  • Never drop the device.

Important Safety Information and Precautions

  • This device must only be used for the purposes described in this instruction manual.
  • This device must only be used in an ambient temperature range between 50⁰F (10⁰C) and 104⁰F (40⁰C).
  • Do not rely on temperature measurements alone, if you have health concerns, seek medical advice.
  • Do not expose this thermometer to electric shocks.
  • Do not expose this thermometer to extreme temperature conditions of >122⁰F (50⁰C) of < 32⁰F (0⁰C)
  • Do not use the device in relative humidity higher than 85%,
  • Do not use the device near large electromagnetic fields such as found with cordless or cell phones.
  • Keep the device away from water and heat, including direct sunlight.
  • Do not drop or knock the device and do not use if damaged.
  • It may affect the accuracy of measurements when the forehead is covered by hair, perspiration, cap or scarf.
  • Keep the measuring distance about 1-2 inches (3-5cm)
  • When the body infrared thermometer should be left in that room during 15-20 minutes before using.
  • It may affect the accuracy of measurements when the forehand is covered by perspiration or other factors, please take the temperature behind the ear lobe.
  • Clean the glass with a cotton bud lightly moistened with 70% alcohol.
  • Remove the batteries if not in use for a long period.
  • Before taking the temperature make sure to remove hair and perspiration from the forehead.
  • Select “Body” mode to measure the body temperature, selecting “Object” to measure the object temperature.
  • Should a problem occur with your device, please contact your retailer. Do not attempt to repair it by yourself.
  • According to EMC Standard, the medical electronic products should be maintainer specially.
  • Application: the proeluet is suitable for any human body temperature in any age.

Note: The temperature of the human body varies throughout the day. It can be influenced numerous external factors: age, sex, type and thickness of skin.

Description of Parts

Battery Installation

  • Open the cover of battery compartment.
  • Insert new batteries according to the polarity. Wait for 10 minutes so as to warm-up of the apparatus.

Battery Warning

  • Do not mix alkaline, stand (carbon-zinc) and rechargeable batteries (nickel hydride).
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be charged.
  • Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the unit being charged (if removable).
  • Exhausted batteries are to be removed.
  • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used
  • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.

Instruction For Use

Before Measurement
For stable and reliable results, it is essential to check the non-contact infrared thermometer and change as needed, as follow:

  • Step 1 Test the body temperature of any person using a conventional thermometer, for instance if you get 99.5⁰F (37.5⁰C).

  • Step 2 To the same person, use this device to measure. About 1-2 inch distance between thermometer and forehead.

  • This device should show 99.5⁰F (37.5⁰C) when it is properly set and ready to use.
    Note: Remove any obstacle which could alter the measurement (hair, perspiration and etc).

  • Lower Temperature
    When you have got lower temperature – for example: 97.5⁰F (36.4⁰C), difference is 2.2⁰F (1.1⁰C). You should adjust the temperature on the device until to the same value.

    • Press “Mode” button for 2 seconds, screen displays F1.
    • Press “Mode” button again until you see F3.
    • Press “Up” button in order to add the value.
  • Step 3 Do measurement again to check the value.

Measurement

  1. Once you turn on this device, it will test the room temperature first when the device is not used for a long time.
  2. Select “Body” Mode, place device towards forehead or behind the ear lobe, suggested distance about 1-2 inches (3-5cm).
  3. Press measurement trigger, beep sound in rapid sounds alerted when the measurement is higher than 100.4⁰F (38⁰C).
  4.  Select “Object” mode to measure room temperature, liquid temperature and etc.

In case of seasonal or environmental changes a verification and adjustment should be carried out.

F4| Setting of Buzzer| Press MODE button for 2 seconds, screen display F1, press MODE button 3 times to get F4.

Select UP to turn on the buzzer or select DOWN to stop.

About Measurement Mode
Measuring modes for this device are Body and Object. It is able to measure body temperature of human, room temperature, an object and food.

Data Memory
Data memory will store automatically after temperature measurements, which will display at the right corner of LCD. Press UP or DOWN button to display the last temperature measurements.

Care and Maintenance

  • The protective glass over the lens is the most important and fragile part of the thermometer.
  • The infrared sensor is the most delicate part of the device.
  • It has to be clean and intact to ensure accurate readings.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, LCD display and exterior of this device only needs to be wiped gently with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Never immerse this device or any components in water.
  • Do not expose the thermometer to sunlight or water.
  • Store the device in a dry environment.
  • Keep away from dust, and always out of reach of children
  • Do not carry out repairs of any kind yourself. If a defect occurs, please contact your local authorized distributor. Use only authorized parts and accessories.

| 1.       Make sure probe is clean and no abstruction prior to measure temperature.

  • WARRANTY PERFORMANCE: During the above 90 day warranty period, a product with a defect will be either repaired or replaced with a reconditioned comparable model (at manufacturer’s option). The repaired or replacement product will be in warranty for the balance of the 90 day warranty period and an additional one-month period. No charge will be applicable for such repair or replacement.
