Noise and vibration values have been determined according to the standards and
regulations mentioned in the declaration of conformity.
The stated vibration emission value was measured in accordance with a standard
testing procedure and may be used to compare one power tool to another. The
stated vibration emission value may also be used for a preliminary exposure
assessment.
Warning: The vibration emission value may differ during actual use of the
power tool from the stated value depending on the manner in which the power
tool is used.
Try to keep the exposure to vibrations as low as possible. An example of how
to reduce vibration exposure is limiting the working hours. For this purpose
all parts of the operating cycle have to be considered (for example, times
when the electric tool is switched off and times when it is switched on but
run- ning without any load).

General safety instructions for power tools
WARNING! Read all safety notices, instructions, illustra tions and technical data that have been provided with this power tool. Omissions in the compliance with safety directions and instructions can cause electrical shock, fire and/or severe injuries.
Retain all safety directions and instructions for future use.
The term “Power Tools” used in the safety instructions refers to mains-
operated power tools (with power cord) and to battery-operated power tools
(without power cord).
1) WORK AREA SAFETY
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite
accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks
which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power
tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any
way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric
shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as
pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk
of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water
entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling
or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges
or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric
shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable
for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
f) If operation of the power tool in a damp environment is unavoidable,
please use a residual current circuitry. The use of a residual current
circuitry reduces the risk of an electric shock.
3) PERSONAL SAFETY
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention white operating
power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, hard hat, or
hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal
injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position
before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying
the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising
power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the pow- er tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If dust extraction and collection devices can be installed, make sure that
these are connected and used correctly. Use of dust collection can reduce
dust-related hazards.
POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your
application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the
rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any
power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be
repaired.
c) Remove the plug from the wall socket and/or remove the rechargeable battery
before you change the device’s settings, change accessory parts or put away
the power tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting
the power tool accidentaIly.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the
power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Look after the power tool and application tool carefully. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other
condi- tion that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools
with sharp cutting edges are less Iikely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
CAREFUL HANDLING AND USE OF BATTERY DEVICES
a) Charge the batteries only in chargers that are recommended by the
manufacturer. Risk of fire if a charger that is suitable for a specific type
of battery is used with other batteries.
b) In the power tools, use only the batteries designed for the purpose. The
use of other batteries may result in injuries and risk of fire.
c) Keep the unused battery away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws
and other small metal objects, which could cause bridging of the contacts. A
short circuit between the battery con- tacts may cause burns or fire.
d) If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from the battery. Avoid contact with
this. In the event of accidental contact, rinse off with water. If the liquid
gets into eyes, seek medical assistance. Leaking bat- tery fluid may cause
skin irritations or burns.
SERVICE
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Selecting a tool
An SDS Plus attachment tool is required for impact drilling. Use the keyless
chuck with SDS Plus adapter for drilling without impact into wood, metal,
ceramic and plastic. You can insert cylindrical drill bits with a diameter of
0.8 – 10 mm into this chuck, or an attachment tool with a hexagonal shaft. For
screwing, use the screw bits that are inserted via the keyless chuck with SDS
Plus adapter.
** The “impact drilling” operating mode may only be used if the key- less
chuck is not attached!
Changing the tool**
The tool holder with SDS Plus adapter allows you to change the attachment tool
easily and conveniently without use of additional tools.
The attachment tool is freely movable for technical reasons. This causes a
concentricity deviation during idling but this has no effect on the accuracy
of the bore hole since the drill centres itself automatically while drilling.
The device is capable of using various drill bit types featuring a hexagonal
or cylindrical shaft thanks to the keyless chuck with SDS Plus adapter.
The dust protection cap (2) largely prevents the ingress of drilling dust into
the tool holder during operation. Ensure the dust protection cap (2) is not
damaged when inserting tools.
If damaged, the dust protection cap must be replaced immediately. It is
recommended for this to be performed by customer service.
Inserting an SDS Plus tool
- Unlock the SDS Plus receptor (1) by pulling the locking sleeve (3) backwards.
- Rotate the tool into the tool holder.
- Release the locking sleeve (3)
- Check that the tool is secure by pulling on it. The tool exhibits some radial play for technical reasons.

Inserting tools with hexagonal and cylindrical shafts
- D Unlock the SDS Plus receptor (1) by pulling the locking sleeve (3) backwards.
- Rotate the keyless chuck with SDS Plus adapter (17) into the tool holder (1).
- Check that the keyless chuck (17) is securely locked by pulling on it. The keyless chuck with SDS Plus adapter exhibits some radial play for technical reasons.
- E Rotate the keyless chuck (17) counter-clockwise, until the drill chuck aperture is large enough to accommodate the tool.
- Push the tool as far as possible into the keyless chuck (17).
- Rotate the chuck clockwise to clamp the tool firmly.
Removing tools with hexagonal and cylindrical shafts
- To remove the tool again, rotate the keyless chuck (1) and pull out the tool.
