Safety Warnings

The battery charger may not be used to charge any other batteries, other than the supplied battery.
Only use the supplied battery in the hose reel. Unauthorized batteries risk exploding.
Overvoltage can destroy the battery and the charger. Observe correct mains voltage.
Do not bridge contacts of the battery charger or the battery, with metal parts.
After intensive use, let the battery cool before charging.
Disconnect the charging plug before storing the battery charger.
Due to the danger of physical injury, the battery may not be used as an energy source for other appliances.
Never charge batteries near acids and highly flammable materials.
Protect the battery against heat and fire. Do not place on radiators or expose to intense sunlight for long periods. Only use and charge the battery in an ambient temperature between 5°C and 45°C.
The main charging cable must be inspected regularly for signs of damage and aging (brittleness) and may only be used in perfect condition.

Storage

In regions prone to frost, stow the hose housing and the battery in a frost-proof place in an upright position.
Do not store the battery in conditions over 45°C or under direct sunlight. Remove the battery from the hose housing and charge it before storing it separately.
Do not store the battery in places with static electricity.

Disposal of the Battery

The battery is composed of lithium-ion which must not be disposed with normal household waste at the end of its life.

Installation

Mounting the Bracket

Remove the wall bracket from the housing unit by unscrewing the safety screw [a] from the bottom of the bracket
The supplied wall plugs are suitable for cement walls (plaster up to 1cm). For other wall types, specific wall plugs for that type of wall must be used (not supplied)
Mark holes using the wall bracket [b]
Distance from hose housing to garden tap is MAX 2m. Ensure correct spacing when marking drill holes
Drill into the wall with a 10mm drill bit [c] and push in the wall plugs
Screw in the wall bracket
[d] with the four screws [e]
Mount the hose housing [f] onto the wall bracket [g]
Re-secure the hose housing with the supplied safety screw [h]
Connect the tap-to-reel hose
[i] to your garden tap [j]

MOVING THE STOPPER

If required, the stopper can be moved along the length of the hose
Remove the battery before moving the stopper

Loosen the two screws on the stopper [a] with a screwdriver
Holding the hose, shift the stopper and re-tighten with the two screws

Operation

Using the Hose Reel

UNWINDING: Pull out the hose to the desired length
ROLLING UP : Holding the end of the hose, walk back to the hose housing and hold the RUN button-down [a] until the hose has been rolled up to the desired length. PROTECTIVE FUNCTION:
If the hose is blocked or completely rolled up, the motor automatically switches off
When the battery is fully charged, the hose can be rolled up to 35 times

Battery LED Status

The charging level of the battery is displayed briefly every time the RUN button is pressed.
Charge LED [a] blue ×3: Battery is fully charged
Charge LED [a] yellow ×2: Battery is half-charged
Charge LED [a] red ×1: Battery low needs charging
Charge LED [a] red – flashing: Battery dead needs charging
Power LED [b]: Indicates if hose reel is powered on or off. If this LED is red, it may indicate a battery fault

Charging

Charging the Battery

The battery must be fully charged prior to first use
Press the release button [a] and remove the battery
Insert the battery charger into a mains socket
Insert the plug of the charging cable [b] into the bottom of the battery [c]
Once charged, slide the battery back into the hose housing until it snaps in
- The lithium-ion battery can be charged at every charging level and charging can be interrupted at any time without damaging the battery
- Charging control lamp [d] is red: Battery is charged
- Charging control lamp [d] is green: Battery is fully charged
- Never expose the battery charger to moisture or wetness

2 Year Replacement Guarantee – Housing and Battery

Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
As well as your statutory rights referred to above and any other rights and remedies you have under any other laws relating to your Holman product, we also provide you with a Holman guarantee. Holman Industries guarantees this product against defects caused by faulty workmanship and materials for 2 years of domestic use from the date of purchase. During this guarantee period, Holman Industries will replace any defective product. Packaging and instructions may not be replaced unless faulty. In the event of a product being replaced during the guarantee period, the guarantee on the replacement product will expire 2 years from the purchase date of the original product, not 2 years from the date of replacement. To the extent permitted by law, this Holman Replacement Guarantee excludes liability for consequential loss or any other loss or damage caused to property of persons arising from any cause whatsoever. It also excludes defects caused by the product not being used in accordance with instructions, accidental damage, misuse, or being tampered with by unauthorized persons, excludes normal wear and tear, and does not cover the cost of claiming under the warranty or transporting the goods to and from the place of purchase.

6 Year Replacement Guarantee

Holman offers a 6-year replacement guarantee with this product. In Australia, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
