SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
-
Follow all the safety instructions and pay attention to all the warnings on the machine.
-
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
-
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
-
Unplug the power cord before cleaning. Clean the casing with a cloth moistened with a mild detergent. Do not use strong or abrasive detergents or solvents.
-
Connect the machine to an easily accessible mains outlet near the machine.
-
Do not use the machine near water.
-
Do not place the machine near or above heat sources.
-
Do not expose the machine to water or any other liquid.
-
Unplug the power cord and contact qualified service personnel if any of the following occurs:
- If the power cord or plug is damaged.
- If the machine has been exposed to liquid.
- If the machine is not working properly.
-
Never place any objects on the power cord. Place the power cord so that it cannot be stood on or clenched.
-
Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate.
Consult an authorised electrician if in doubt. -
Never try to open the machine casing — risk of electric shock.
-
Keep children and pets at a safe distance from the machine when it is in use.
-
Connect the machine to an easily accessible mains outlet near the machine.
-
Loose clothing, long hair, and jewellery etc. can be pulled into the infeed opening — risk of personal injury
-
Do not run paper clips, laminated sheets, photos, plastic pockets or textiles through the machine. Avoid if possible running staples through the machine —they can damage the shredding system.
-
Do not run wet or damp paper through the machine, it can wind round the shredding unit and damage the machine.
-
For best results, do not run more than 5 sheets of paper through the machine at once. Overloading can damage the machine.
-
Do not run more than 50 sheets through the machine in one session. Prolonged loading can cause overheating, which will switch off the motor. Switch off the machine immediately if paper gets jammed, otherwise the machine can overheat and the motor switch off. If the motor switches off as a result of overheating, switch off the machine, unplug the power cord and allow the machine to cool for at least 45 minutes before starting it again.
-
Leave the machine switched off for at least 45 minutes every time it is used for 2 minutes.
-
Do not use the reversing function REV unnecessarily, it can cause particles to coiled round the infeed opening and reduce the capacity of the machine.
-
Switch off the machine and pull out the plug before cleaning and/or servicing, and before moving the machine.
SYMBOLS
The following symbols may occur on the product.

TECHNICAL DATA
- Rated voltage: 230 V — 50 Hz
- Infeed width: 220mm
- Shredding capacity: 5 sheets (A4, 80 g/m2)
- Strip width: 6,8 mm
- Dimensions: 281x 150 x 310 mm
USE
The machine is intended for destroying small quantities of documents in small and medium-sized home offices.
- Plug in the power cord. Set the power switch/mode selector to ON/AUTO. The machine goes into standby mode.
- Insert the document straight into the infeed opening. The machine starts automatically.
- Switch off the machine and unplug the power cord before emptying the collection tray. Lift off the top and empty the collection tray.
- If material fastens, move the mode selector to the REV position to feed out the jammed material. It may be necessary to carefully pull the stuck material to remove it.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the following points if the machine does not work properly.
- That the power cord is plugged in.
- That the power switch/mode selector is in the ON position.
- That paper has not fastened in the machine.
- That the motor has not switched off as a result of overheating.
- That the paper is sufficiently stiff to activate the mechanism.
- Check that the collection tray is not full. Empty the collection tray, if necessary.
- Remove the paper that has been fed in. Divide the paper into smaller bundles (no more than 5 sheets).
- If it is difficult to remove the paper, move the mode selector slowly between the ON/AUTO and REV positions. Allow the mode selector to rest in the ON/AUTO position for a moment each time. Do not switch between the ON/AUTO and REV positions too quickly, this can damage the machine.
