- Ensure the voltage shown on the label matches the main supply voltage.
- This device must be connected to a socket that is earthed.
- Protect the socket and plug against moisture. Use a drip loop to ensure water cannot reach the socket via the cord. The controller should be installed in a dry place (see Fig. A).
- Don’t use the product if the device, electrical cord, or plug is damaged. Return the device to your dealer for repair or recycling. A damaged electrical cord or plug cannot be replaced, therefore the controller or motor must be replaced.
- Be careful with the combination of water and electricity. Do not operate with wet hands. Dry hands before carrying out maintenance.
- Never use the device when there are people in the water.
- Always switch off all devices at the mains supply before maintenance.
- Prevent the Fish Feeder from falling into the water. Do not use the device if water is damaged. The warranty is invalidated in the event of improper use or water damage.
- ****This device can be used by children aged 8 years and above, persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance of the device shall not be done by children without supervision.
- Modifications to the device may affect safety. The warranty will also expire.
Function
With this automatic feeder, you can automatically feed your fish. Feeding a smaller quantity of food on a regular basis has a beneficial effect on the health of the fish and pond. Feeding several times a day ensures maximum growth of your fish and beautiful color patterns. Because the fish eat all the food, there will be less pollution of the water and it reduces the load on the filter.
Installation
- Place the Fish Feeder in an accessible place above your pond so that it can be easily refilled with food.
Fig. B Fasten the bracket to a wall (e.g. post) using 4 screws (not
supplied).
Fig. C Or fasten the bracket on the floor (e.g. on a deck) using 4 screws
(not supplied).
Fig. D Make sure the Fish Feeder hangs completely level.
Fig. E Place the Fish Feeder in the bracket and feed the cable through
the cable guide of the bracket.
Fig. A Connect cables of the controller and feeder to each other. Mount
the controller with a screw on a wall, in a dry Unsplash-free location.
Pellet size
-
The Fish Feeder is suitable for pellets with a diameter between 2-9 mm.
Fig. F No reducer needs to be placed for large pellets (± 9 mm).
Fig. G For medium pellets (± 6 mm), the insert ring must be placed on the bottom of the container.
Fig. H With small pellets (± 3 mm), both reducers (insert ring and insert disc) must be placed. -
Fill the container with pellets (max. 7 liters) and place the lid. Attention: When filling an empty food container, some pellets will fall out of the dispenser, if necessary you can collect them, for example by keeping the lid under the fish feeder. Close the lid by turning it anticlockwise.
NOTICE! Make sure the food remains dry at all times. If the food becomes moist, the feeder may block and not function correctly. -
Insert the plug into a grounded socket and test the Fish Feeder by pressing the controller’s “manual” button. A small amount of food will now be dispensed.
-
Set the correct time on the controller and program the desired feeding times and amount of food (see Programming). Use the feeding table on the packaging or in the back of this manual as a guideline.
Maintenance
- ****Disconnect the cable between the feeder and the controller.
- Clean the inside of the food container regularly with a brush and a dry cloth. Remove any caked food remains, these can block the rotor, which can lead to damage and/or malfunction of the Fish Feeder.

The quantity of food can be set (in steps), so you can vary the amount per

longer indicate the current time, therefore reset the time and feeding
schedule.
Quantity of food
You can set the amount of fish food in 10 steps. The quantity per step depends, among other things, on the specific weight of the food used and pellet size. The indicated amounts of food in the table below are average and based on the use of Hikari Staple. (We accept no liability for any differences).
* When using small pellets, both reducers (insert ring and insert disc)
must be placed (see page 5 and Fig. H).
** When using medium pellets, only the insert ring must be placed (see
page 5 and Fig. G).
Guidelines for the amount (weight) of fish food per day
You can use the table below to calculate how much food your fish need per day.
For this, you must first calculate the total weight of your fish in the pond.
The easiest way to do this is by converting the length of the fish to the
weight.
Complete the table below and calculate the total weight of all your fish.
How much food (in the percentage of body weight) a fish requires depends on a
number of factors, such as water temperature, filter capacity, and water
quality (NH3 /NH4 and NO2 ).
- At water temperature between 15-18°C: feeding per day should be about 1% of the total weight of the fish.
- At water temperature between 18-21°C: feeding per day should be about 1,5% of the total weight of the fish.
- At water temperature between 21-23°C: feeding per day should be about 2% of the total weight of the fish.
- At water temperature above 23°C: feeding per day should be about 3% of the total weight of the fish.
The filter must be able to convert all waste to maintain a biological balance
and a healthy water quality. Regular testing of
Ammonia and Nitrite levels are necessary during the season. If these levels
increase you will need to feed less.
The table is based on a water temperature between 21-23°C, in that case, the
amount of fish food per day is 2% of the total weight of all fish in the
pond.
