Shut power off at the breaker
Find the breaker that controls the circuit for the junction box where the floodlight will be installed. Turn it off before you continue installation. Place tape over the circuit breaker switch and verify power is off at the light.
Note : you can use the circuit tester at this point to verity that power is cut off. -
Determine the location
With the power off at the breaker, carefully remove any existing light fiixture from the junction box. Make sure to label the wires (ground, line or phase and neutral) from existing fixture prior to removing.
Note : If there wasn’t a light fixture previously installed, then professional wiring installation will be required prior to proceeding to the next step. Seek technical help in this case. -
Prepare your floodlight camera for installation
- Loosen the knobs on the light fixtures to rotate them out of the way and allow access to the mounting screws.
- Rotate the camera to adjust the viewing angle in the desired direction.
- Users can hang floodlight camera upside down (eave mount) or install it vertically on the wall.
- Select the installation method that best suits the position of your junction box.
-
Mounting bracket installation
- Attach the mounting plate to your junction box using the supplied screws. The concaved side of the mounting plate must face outwards.
- Make sure that the wires are positioned away from the mounting plate to avoid pinching the cables.
- Run the cables of the floodlight fixture through the waterproof gasket.
- Using the correct polarity, match each wire from the floodlight camera with those coming from the junction box
Make sure to follow the wiring configuration:
- Neutral wire (white) on camera to neutral on junction box.
- Ground wire (yellow/green) on camera to ground on junction box.
- Line/phase wire (black) on camera to line /phase on junction box.
-
Connect the wire ends of each pair into the wire nut, then twist each nut full turns until the connection is fully secured. Repeat this step for each cable assembly.
Note : make sure that there is no wire exposed. -
Push all the excess wiring into the junction box.
Note : make sure all the wires are positioned in an organized manner and away from the edges of the junction box and the mounting bracket, to avoid pinching any of them with the base of the camera, prior to completing the process. -
Proceed to align the floodlight camera base on the junction box, so that it is oriented correctly.
-
Insert the center screw through the base and into the mounting hole on the junction box. Secure the base firmly in place.
-
Use the screw cap to cover the center screw to prevent it from rusting.
-
Restore power at the breaker
-
Turn the breaker that controls the circuit for your floodlight to switch it back on. Remove the tape over the circuit breaker switch and turn the power ON at the circuit breaker or fuse. Verify power is ON at the floodlight light.
Note : if the fixture is not ON, check if the light fixture is controlled by a switch in your home. In that case, move the switch to its ON position for power. -
After restoring power, the lights will turn on and your floodlight camera will notify you with a tone that has entered into the setup mode.
-
