HEARTH HOME IFT-RC150 IntelliFire Touch Wireless Wall Switch
Introduction
The IFT-RC150 is a wall-mounted wireless wall switch that is designed to operate Hearth & Home Technologies appliances equipped with the IntelliFire Touch® Technology. It has a temperature sensor and can be used to control the ON/OFF and cold-climate func-tion of your appliance as a stand-alone or in combi-nation with a Mobile App. This user manual serves as a quick reference to the wall switch operation.
Operation
Pairing
- The IFT-RC150 must be paired to control the Elec- tronic Control Module (ECM). The pairing button is located underneath the top housing cover.
- Remove IFT-RC150 top housing cover. Install 2 AA alkaline batteries.
- The pairing button will activate the pairing mode of the wireless wall switch for 15 seconds while the LED indicator blinks once every second.
- To pair the IFT-RC150 with the IFT ECM, press the pairing button on the ECM. When the ECM green LED starts blinking, press the pairing button on the IFT-RC150. If pairing is successful, the ECM will respond with a double beep and the green LED will stop blinking. Re-install the IFT-RC150 top housing cover.
Flame ON/OFF
- To turn the flame ON, press the top of the momentary toggle switch.
- To turn the flame OFF, press the bottom of the momentary toggle switch.
The appliance has a safety feature that automatically shuts down the appliance after 9 hours of continuous operation.
Cold Climate
This function turns on a continuous pilot and keeps the air inside the
appliance warm while not in use. It is a useful feature in cold weather to
minimize condensation on the appliance glass.
- To turn the cold climate mode ON/OFF, press the small momentary push button below the momentary toggle switch.
Note: This feature is disabled when a Power Vent is installed on the
appliance.
Note: The continuous pilot will automatically turn OFF after 166 hours if
appliance is not actively used. If Flame ON is activated before 166 hours, the
automatic timer will re-start.
LED Indicator

A single two-color LED indicator is located above the momentary toggle switch. The LED indicator identifies to the user the IFT-RC150 status.
• GREEN: Blink during normal transmission.
• RED: Blinks once every 5 seconds indicating Low Battery.
• RED and GREEN: Blinks once every 5 seconds indicating of pairing. -
It blinks every time it transmits a command.
Power Requirements
The IFT-RC150 is a battery-operated wireless control switch and requires 2 AA
alkaline batteries. The operating voltage is 3VDC. Other battery types such as
recharge-able NiMH or disposable Lithium AA batteries may be used to operate
the wireless wall switch.
Power Outage
In the event of a power outage, the wireless wall switch can continue to
operate the appliance if batteries are installed in the appliance’s battery
backup system. Refer to the appliance owner’s manual for operation during a
power outage.
Note: Batteries should only be used as an appliance power source in the event of a power outage. Batteries should not be used as a primary long-term power source.
IFT Wi-Fi Module (IFT-WFM) Reset
If the IFT-ECM is equipped with the IFT-WFM, the IFT-RC150 can be used to
reset the IFT-WFM to factory de-fault settings.
To reset the IFT-WFM with the IFT-RC150, press and hold the top of the
momentary toggle switch and the Cold Climate button for 2 seconds. The IFT-ECM
will beep and reset the IFT-WFM.
Manual Fireplace Shutoff
In the unlikely event that the wall switch malfunctions and will not turn off the fireplace, call your dealer for service assistance. In the meantime, turn off your appliance by performing the following actions:
CAUTION! Risk of burns! Appliance surfaces are hot when operating and during cool down. Use care and wear gloves when opening the front and accessing components inside the appliance.
Turn off power to the appliance (if back-up batteries are not installed):
- If the appliance comes equipped with a wired-wall switch, use that to turn it off.
- Alternately, you can also locate the house circuit breaker for appliance and turn it off.
- If the appliance is operating with back-up batteries and the batteries are accessible outside the fireplace, remove a battery to shutdown the appliance.
DANGER:
HOT GLASS WILL CAUSE BURNS.
DO NOT TOUCH GLASS UNTIL COOLED.
NEVER ALLOW CHILDREN TO TOUCH GLASS.
A barrier designed to reduce the risk of burns from the hot viewing glass is provided with this appliance and shall be installed for the protection of children and other at-risk individuals.

The IFT-RC150 complies with all applicable FCC equipment authorization, regulations, requirements, and equipment functions.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encour-aged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV techcian for help
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
