These smoke shields have been tested for use with specific Hearth & Home Technologies Inc. fireplaces. Check with your local building code agency before you begin installation to ensure compliance with local codes, including the need for permits and follow-up inspections. CAUTION! Risk of Cuts, Abrasions or Flying Debris. Wear protective gloves
and safety glasses during installation. Sheet metal edges are sharp.
INSTRUCTION
- Remove the screens and rods from the fireplace (each secured by one screw) and set them aside.
- Remove the screws holding the smoke shield on the fireplace.
- If the U.L. label is on the existing smoke shield it must be removed using a 1/8 in. drill bit to drill out the rivets.
- Screw the U.L. label to the new smoke shield with the screws provided.
- Install the new smoke shield. Seal the ends of the smoke shield with high temp sealant around the sides/top of the side refractory.
- Replace the screens.
