OPERATION

WARNING
The danger of injury due to defective components! The product must only be put into operation if no defects are found. Ensure that any defective parts are replaced before the product is used again.

Check the device:

  • Make sure all parts are fitted on the machine firmly.
  • Check whether there are any visible defects: broken parts, cracks, etc.broken parts, cracks, etc.

Operation

The device measures the surface temperature of an object. The sensor measures the emitted, reflected and penetrated heat radiation of the object and converts this information into a temperature value.

  • Measurements of metallic or shiny surfaces provide inaccurate measuring values. As a repair, such surfaces can be covered with matt adhesive tape or faint black paint.
  • The laser distance meter is not able to take measurements through transparent surfaces such as glass.

Switch on and off (Fig. A+C)
Hold down the measure button (2) to switch on the Equipment. Equipment will always start in the default reference setting of single measurement mode (9). Hold down the switch-off button (4) to switch off the equipment.

Distance and measurement field size
In order to get accurate results, the object to be measured must be greater than the measurement field of the device. The measured temperature is the average temperature of the measured area. The smaller the object, the shorter the distance must be to the device.

  • The optical resolution (D:S) is 12:1, i. e.: the diameter of the measurement field is 1/12 of the distance to the object:VONROC-IT501DC-Digital-Infrared-Thermometer-with-Laser-3
  • A. D = 12 mm, S = 1 mm
  • B. D = 60 mm, S = 5 mm
  • C D = 240 mm, S = 20 mm

Note:
The object to be measured for accurate measurements must be at least double the size of the measurement field.
Measuring

WARNING
Risk of injury due to laser beam! Never direct the measuring beam towards people, other living creatures or reflecting surfaces.

  •  Press the measuring switch (3) or press the [C/F] button (2) to switch the device on
  •  Press the [C/F] button (2) to switch the display between “°C” and “°F”.
  •  Press the switch (3) for longer than 0.5 seconds to measure the correct value.
  • As long as the switch (3) is being pressed the temperature is measured constantly and “HOLD” disappears from the display.
  • As long as the switch (3) is being pressed the highest measured temperature is shown on display as “MAX” (9).
  • The last measured temperature and the Max measured temperature is saved when the switch (3) is released and shown on the display on position (8).

To recover the last reading when the machine is off, press the [C/F] button.
Switching off

  •  If no activity occurs the device switches itself off after 22 seconds.
  •  The low battery icon (10) shows when the power is low.
