After you’ve enabled your device, go to the Map tab on the left sidebar of the screen. The name of your device should now appear at the top. The satellite map and your device’s position are marked with a blue pin under the dashboard tab. To get a better look at the surroundings, you can zoom in and out. The status bar on the right shows current information about your Trak-4 GPS tracker, such as GPS position co-ordinates, local weather, battery status, and the time of the latest and next GPS report. You’ll find a lot of settings for your Trak-4 mobile GPS tracker if you go to the Manage tab. We’ll start by setting the device’s reporting frequency.

HOW TO SET REPORTING FREQUENCY

Keep in mind that the lesser the battery backup, the shorter the reporting frequency. A 24 hour reporting frequency, according to Trak-4 calculations, should provide more than 12 months of battery backup on a single full charge. Under usual use, you should expect 2 to 4 days of battery life with a 2 minute ping rate. One thing to keep in mind is that the Trak-4 mobile GPS tracker sleeps between location updates to save power. When the reporting frequency is changed, the tracker will only check for any frequency update requests when it is time to report its next location update.

Click the dashboard tab to find out when your GPS tracker’s next scheduled reporting time is. The next reporting time is displayed in the status section.

HOW TO SETUP GEOZONE

Geozones are imaginary perimeters that you can establish on a map and have your GPS tracker tell you when it enters or departs them.

  1. Click the Geozones option on the left sidebar to create a Geozone.
  2. Choose your device from the dropdown menu and then navigate to the Geozone location on the map.
  3. Start marking points on the map by clicking ‘Add new Geozone.’
  4. To close the shape, click the first point. Enter a name for your new Geozone and select the boxes for entry and departure to receive notifications when the Trak-4 GPS tracker enters or exits the Geozone.

If you want to change your Geozone boundaries, select edit from the blue shape. You can change the area by dragging the handles. When you’re finished, click Save.
