Cleaning and disinfection

Step 1. Cleaning
Warning: Clean and disinfect all parts before first use and after each use, to ensure hygiene and to prevent contamination. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents when you clean the breast shells, as this may cause damage to the product.

  1. Separate the breast shells and the backing cushions.
  2. Clean the parts in warm, soapy water and rinse under the tap.
  3. When cleaning in the dishwasher, place the parts on the top rack.
  4. Leave to dry on a clean surface.

Step 2. Disinfection (after cleaning)
The breast shells are suitable for disinfection by boiling in water.
Warning: Be careful, the parts may be hot after disinfection. To prevent burns, only use after cooling down.

  1. When boiling in water, boil the parts in a household pot for 5 minutes.
Caution: Prevent the parts from touching the sides of the pot during disinfection with boiling water.

  2. Leave to dry on a clean surface.

Using the Comfort Breast Shells

Warning: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before you touch non-ventilated breast shells and backing cushions to prevent contamination.
To protect sore or cracked nipples and to relieve engorgement:
Attach the backing cushions to the ventilated shells and slip them inside your bra. The ventilation holes in the breast shells must point upwards. The soft cushions will mold comfortably to the shape of your breasts and the domed shells will protect your sore or cracked nipples from chafing. The ventilation holes allow the air to circulate. To relieve engorgement, the breast shells with backing cushions exert gentle pressure around the areola and may induce slow leaking of milk.
To collect breast milk for later use:
Attach the backing cushions to the non-ventilated breast shells (see the image on the front page of this user manual). While you are breastfeeding or expressing from one side, slip an assembled breast shell inside your bra on the other side to collect any leaking milk.
Storage of breast milk
Warning: Only breast milk collected during breastfeeding or expression should be stored for later use. Breast milk collected over a longer period may become contaminated.
To empty the breast shell, carefully remove the backing cushion and pour the breast milk into a sterilized container. Place in a refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible. Breast milk can be stored for up to 4 days in a refrigerator or up to 6 months in a freezer.
Storage of the product – Store in a cool, dry place.
Disposal of the product – According to local regulations.
