IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – READ BEFORE USING YOUR HUMIDIFIER
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always
unplug the unit before moving, filling, servicing, or cleaning. Do not pour or
spill water onto the controls or motor area. If these get wet, let them dry
completely and have the unit checked by authorized service personnel before
plugging in. Do not use the humidifier if any parts are damaged or missing.

- To reduce the risk of fire or shock, this humidifier has a polarized plug. Plug the humidifier directly into a 120V, AC electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords. If the plug does not fully fit into your outlet, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not alter the plug in any way.
- Keep the electric cord out of traffic areas. To reduce the risk of fire hazards, never put the electric cord under rugs, or near heat registers, radiators, stoves, or heaters.
- Keep the humidifier clean. To reduce the risk of injury, fire, or damage to humidifiers, use only cleaning fluids specifically recommended for humidifiers. Never use flammable, combustible, or poisonous materials to clean your humidifier.
- Do not place metals, chemicals, or detergents into the water tank. Do not put foreign objects inside the humidifier.
- To reduce the risk of electrical hazard or damage to a humidifier, do not tilt, jolt, tip, or carry the humidifier while the unit is running.
- Never touch the nebulizer upon starting. It will cause you pain.
- Do not allow the unit to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- To reduce the risk of damage and fire, do not use a hot air source (like a radiator, hot air duct, etc.) or an open flame.
- To reduce the risk of accidental electrical shock, do not touch the cord or controls with wet hands.
- Only add clean, cool water to the water tank. Do not add medication or aroma/essential oil to the water tank. Only add oils to the diffuser tray. Do not add water directly to the water basin (bottom section). To avoid damage to internal parts, do not allow water to pour or splash onto the base. Do not operate the unit in a room with temperatures below freezing.
- Do not operate a unit with an empty water tank. 12. If the unit emits an abnormal sound or odor, shut it down and unplug it immediately.
HUMIDIFIER ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY
SALES RECEIPT REQUIRED AS PROOF OF PURCHASE FOR ALL WARRANTY CLAIMS This
warranty is extended only to the original purchaser of this humidifier when
the unit is installed and used under normal conditions against defects in
workmanship and materials as follows:
- One (1) year from the date of sale on the unit, and
- Thirty (30) days on wicks and filters, which are considered disposable components and should be replaced periodically.
The manufacturer will replace the defective part/product, at its discretion,
with return freight paid by the manufacturer.
It is agreed that such replacement is the exclusive remedy available from the
manufacturer and that TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE MANUFACTURER
IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING INCIDENTAL AND
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE OR LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES. Some states do not allow
limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations
may not apply to you. Warranty Exclusions: We are not responsible for the
replacement of wicks and filters. We are not responsible for any incidental or
consequential damage from any malfunction, accident, misuse, alterations,
unauthorized repairs, or abuse, including failure to perform reasonable
maintenance, normal wear and tear, nor where the connected voltage is more
than 5% above the nameplate voltage. We are not responsible for any damage
from the use of water softeners or treatments, chemicals, or descaling
materials. We are not responsible for the cost of service calls to diagnose
the cause of trouble, or labor charge to repair and/or replace parts. No
employee, agent, dealer, or other person is authorized to give any warranties
or conditions on behalf of the manufacturer. The customer shall be responsible
for all labor costs incurred. Some states do not allow the exclusion or
limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or
exclusions may not apply to you.

listed above. This warranty gives the customer specific legal rights, and you

Remove the DUET from its packaging. You should have:

Your DUET is fully assembled and needs no additional setup.

Put your DUET on a level surface in the room where humidity is most needed. To avoid condensation, make sure the unit is at least two inches from the wall and not under a window. Note: The DUET is an ultrasonic humidifier, so it emits a very fine mist. Position the nozzle to direct this mist away from furnishings and electronics.

Remove the lid and fill the water tank. The water tank lifts out, so you can also take it to the sink to fill it. The handle is just to lift the water tank for filling, so do not use it to carry the DUET while it is full.
Your DUET holds 1.2 gallons of water. About water additives:
• Do not add essential oils to the DUET water tank. Only add them to the essential oil tray.
• Do not use water softeners. -
To add essential oils, open the essential oil tray by pressing it. Add a few drops of essential oil to the tray pad. Add more oil to your liking. Only use essential oils in the tray; any brand will work with the DUET.

Your demineralization cartridge is in your base. This helps break down the minerals naturally found in water – improving your air quality and preventing the white dust people sometimes notice with ultrasonic humidifiers.
You should change your cartridge every 60-90 days. To do this, simply remove the water tank, take out the old cartridge, then drop in a new cartridge. -
Plugin your unit and press the power button power-off . Set your desired output level by pressing the + or – buttons. Your DUET has five output levels that are displayed by 1 (the lowest output) through 5 (the highest output).

Press the humidity control button to set your humidity level from 25% to 65%. Your mist output will pause when the set humidity level is reached and will resume when the humidity dips below your setting. When set to 65%, your unit will run continuously.

Press the timer button clock to run your DUET for a set period of 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours. The clock icon will show on the display when the timer is on. Turn the timer off by pressing the timer button again until it reaches 0.

Switch between cool and warm mist by pressing the mist temperature button.
It will take the DUET a few minutes to reach the warm mist temperature. -
Press the light mode button to select between the screen lighting, the screen lighting plus the nightlight, the nightlight only, or no lights (all of your settings will remain set).
Note: The DUET is an ultrasonic humidifier, so it emits a very fine mist.
Position the nozzle to direct this mist away from furnishings and electronics.
That’s it! Your DUET is ready to use.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR DUET
Regular cleaning is important for preventing mold, mildew, and other bacterial
growth in your humidifier.
It also keeps your DUET working its best.

Turn off the unit and unplug it.

Remove the water tank and pour out any remaining water.

Fill the tank half-full with warm water and 4 tablespoons of white vinegar. Pour a little of the mixture into the base.

Swish the water-vinegar mixture vigorously in the tank.
Let this sit for 20 minutes. -
With the water-vinegar mixture in the base, use a soft cloth to gently scrub the interior surfaces, including the metal oscillator (located under the plastic door in the base). Let this sit for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, empty the tank and base and rinse both thoroughly with water. Dry everything with a soft cloth, and reassemble.
When storing your DUET, discard the used demineralization cartridge and clean the unit using the directions above. Dry the unit thoroughly, and store it in a temperature-regulated area. Do not install a new cartridge until you are ready to use your DUET again.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where is my serial number?| Your serial number is on the sticker on the bottom of your unit. You can write it here for future reference:

Why is my unit putting out very little mist?| • Turn your mist output up.
• Make sure your oscillator is clean.
• Make sure your humidifier is full of water and on a level surface.
Why is the red “clean” light on?| Your DUET and the oscillator need to be
cleaned.

Why is there white dust around my humidifier?| The white dust is a result of
minerals naturally found in your water. It can be cleaned easily with a dry
cloth.
• Make sure you are not using a water softener in your DUET.
• Install a new demineralization cartridge.
Why isn’t the mist hot?| The DUET is a warm mist humidifier, not a steam
humidifier, so the mist will be warm but not hot.
What temperatures do the warm and cool mist settings reach?| The cool mist
setting is 81 degrees and the warm mist setting is 104 degrees. Household
temperatures can sometimes affect this.

are listed on page 2.
