-
Remove the two M8 bolts either side of the headlight. Be careful the headlight doesn‘t drop down.
-
Remove mirrors and hand controls from the handlebars.
Remove the instruments, keep the wires connected. -
If applicable cut open the wires of the heated grips.
-
Remove original handlebars and riser adapter. Remove the top triple tree and the headlight bracket sleeves (careful not to lose the top and bottom rubber rings).
Note:
Fitting clip on handlebars requires advanced wrenching skills. We recommend to
consult a professional.
Assembly Steps
-
Install the new shortened headlight bracket sleeves. Do not forget the rubber rings top and bottom.
-
Remove headlight brackets from the old sleeves and mount onto the new shortened sleeves.
-
Install the clip ons and hand controls. Make sure nothing touches the tank at full steering angle!
-
Install the top triple tree and torque the M8 bolts down to 25Nm (18.4 ft·lb).
-
If applicable reconnect the cables for the heated grips using the included connector.
-
Instruments Lowering:
Position the two 35mm lowering spacers between the triple tree and the instruments. Use the longer TX M6x50 bolts to fix in place. -
If applicable install the front fairing.
Position the cylindrical spacers on the outside of the headlight brackets, the side with the smaller diameter pointing towards the headlight. (Tip: Hold spacers in place with some sealant or modeling clay.)
Fit the fairing and put the headlight back into position. Loosely insert the two new TX M8 bolts and countersunk washers. Do not yet tighten.
Adjust the headlight height according to the marking on the wall you made earlier. Now torque down the two TX M8 bolts to 18Nm (13.3 ft·lb). -
Insert the cylindrical part of the “anti twist bracket“ into the underside of the head tube. Use the long hole on the bracket to adjust the fairing angle and torque the bolt down to 6Nm (4.4 ft·lb).
Fix the other side to the inside of the fairing using the TX M6x15 bolt, countersunk washer and tooth nut. Torque down to 8Nm (5.9 ft·lb). -
Install the brake fluid reservoir using the new bracket. (Recommendation: Swap your reservoir for a smaller one.)
-
Make sure wires and cables are running correctly and don‘t rub anywhere.
