SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
  • This device may be used by children over 8 years of age and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities and/or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been instructed in the device, are able to use it safely and have understood the dangers involved.
  • The device is not a toy.
  • Do not allow children under the age of 8 to carry out the cleaning and user expectation and supervise children over the age of 8 when carrying out the cleaning and user expectation.

CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The surfaces of the unit can become very hot during use.

  • Always place the appliance on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
  • Use the unit only in well ventilated areas. Hold at least 10 15 cm to all sides of the unit to ensure adequate ventilation.
  • Do not place the appliance on or near gas or electric heaters or in or on heated stoves or other heat sources.
  • Ensure that the appliance does not touch curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishcloths or other materials while in use.
  • Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.
  • Do not move the unit while it is plugged in.
  • Allow the unit to cool completely after use before touching it.
  • Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use the device near water or other liquids.
  • Do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. Immediately unplug the appliance from the wall outlet if it falls into water. Do not reach into the water while the power plug is still in the outlet.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
  • Do not use the unit with an external timer or separate remote control.
  • Make sure that the power cord is not too live, as it is very sensitive and could be damaged as a result.
  • Do not insert or remove the unit with wet hands.
  • Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
  • Do not use the equipment if the power cord or plug is damaged, does not operate properly, has been dropped, is damaged, or has been exposed to water or other liquids.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards.
  • The appliance is designed for use in households and similar environments only. These include but are not limited to: Staff kitchens in shops, offices and other work areas; farmhouses; by customers in hotels, motels and other hotel-like areas.

To reduce the risk of injury and/or product/property damage:

  • This appliance is intended exclusively for indoor use in households and house hold like areas and may only be used as a panini grill and contact grill.
  • Never use the appliance for industrial or commercial purposes.
  • Make sure that the power cord does not hang down, which could cause tripping hazards or children to pull on it.
  • To avoid overloading the circuit, do not use other high performance equipment on the same circuit.
  • A short power cord is supplied with the unit.
  • If possible, do not use an extension cord If you do use one, make sure that the amperage of the connected device does not exceed the maximum amperage of the power cord.

OVERVIEW

OPERATION

Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen food. All food must be completely defrosted before cooking it with this product.

Note: During the initial uses of this product, it may produce some smoke. This is normal and will subside with further use.

1. Before using this product for the first time, clean it as described in the “Care and Maintenance” section.
2. Press in the end of the Locking Latch nearest the Handle to unlock the product.
3. Open the unit by pulling the Handle up.
4. Close the Plates and turn the unit on by plugging it into a standard electrical outlet.
Verify that the Power Indicator Light illuminates in orange.

CAUTION
Risk of burns! The Cooking Plates and metal surfaces of the unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear heat resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the black portion of the Handle.

5. After the unit preheats for approximately five minutes, the Ready Indicator Light will illuminate in green, indicating the product is ready for use.
6. Use the Handle to lift the Upper Plate. Place food on the Lower Plate using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils. Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the Plates’ non-stick coating.
7. Use the Handle to lower and rest the Upper Plate on top of the food.

Note: The cooking time for different foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods. Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.

8. When the food is cooked as desired, lift the Handle to open the Plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If more cooking will be done at this time, close the Plates to conserve heat.
9. Repeat Steps 7-9 until all cooking is complete, reapplying cooking oil as necessary.
10. Turn off the product by unplugging the Power Cord from the electrical outlet.
11. When the unit has completely cooled, clean and dry it.
12. Lock the unit in its closed position by pressing in the end of the Locking Latch farthest from the Handle.

CLEANING AND CARE
  • Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance and the plates to cool down.
  • Wipe the outside with only a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling slots.
  • Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this will damage the finish.
  • Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
