SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Children are not aware of the dangers of electrical appliances. Never leave the appliance unattended during use. Therefore always keep the appliance outside the reach of children.

- The appliance needs to dissipate its heat in order to prevent fire. Therefore it is vital to make sure that the appliance has sufficient clearance on all sides and cannot come into contact with flammable materials. The appliance may not be covered up.

- Do not use a metal scouring pad to clean the appliance. Fragments of metal could come loose and touch the appliance’s electrical parts causing it to short circuit.
- Always switch the appliance off if: it malfunctions while you are using it, before you start maintenance, if you fi t or remove accessories and if you unplug the appliance.
- Only use an extension cord that is in good condition.
- Never switch the appliance off by pulling the cable.

BEFORE FIRST USE
During manufacture,many parts are given a thin film of protective oil.before using the appliance for the first time,heat it up without any food so that any residues can evaporate.
Note: When heating up for the first few times a slight smell may be produced,make sure the room is adequatedly ventilated.
- Take the appliance and all the accessory parts out of the packaging.
- Check that the appliance shows no signs of damage
- Remove any labels or stickers(but not the type plate on the underside)
- Clean the appliance before using it for the first time.
- Select a location that is firm,level and not flammable.Maintain a distance of approx.50cm from other objects
- Make sure that the knob is on “MIN” position before plug in. Check that the supply voltage is 220-240V~50/60Hz.
- Turn knob on Max FOR around 10-15 minutes
- Turn knob on Min and take out the mains plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
- Clean the appliance again.
USE AND OPERATION
Preparing the appliance, move on and off
- Select a location that is firm,level and not flammable. Maintain a distance of approx. 50 cm from other objects
- Lightly grease raclette pans on the inside and grill cover on the top. Warning: The hooks on grill cover are very sharp.Be careful not to injure yourself on them and use a pastry brush slightly moistened with edible oil.
- Pour a little stock into the edge of grill cover.the grill cover may be filled with a maximum of 400 ml of liquid.
- Insert the mains plug into a suitable wall socket which complies with teachnical data.
- Turn on knob to Max,the indicator is red and appliance heats up.
- Allow the appliance to heat up for around 10 minutes. The appliance is now ready to use.
- Turn off the appliances,the indicator light is off.
- Remove the plug from the wall socket after use. This is the only way to ensure that the appliance is completely deenergized.
Preparing the raclette.
- Fill raclette pans with your chosen ingredients. Caution: Do not over fill raclette pans,otherwise the ingredients might get too close to heating element and burn.
- Put raclette pans in the positions provided for this purpose.
- Remove raclette pans from the appliance as soon as the ingredients are cooked.
- Slide the contents of the raclette pans onto a plate using the wooden spatulas and enjoy. Note: As raclette pans have a non stick coating,they donot need to be regreased before each new portion.
Grilling and cooking with grill cover
A wide variety of foods such as meat,fruit and vegetables can be grilled and
cooked using grill cover.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Remove the plug from the mains socket before starting to clean the appliance.
- Never immerse the appliance in water,and protect it from splashes and water droplets.
- Before cleaning, allow the appliance to cool down to avoid the risk of burns.
- Never use abrasive, corrosive or scratching cleaning material. These might damage the appliance and the non stick coating of grill cover and raclette pan.
- Do not wait too long to wash after cooling so that the food remains do not dry on and become difficult to remove.
Cleaning the base section.
- Clean base with a damp cloth.A little washing-up liquid may also be used.
- Wipe off with fresh water.
- Do not use the machine again until it is fully dry.
Cleaning the grill cover and accessorie
To avoid the risk of injury of scalds:
- When moving grill cover,ensure that no hot stock slops over leading to scalds.
- It is important to allow grill cover to cool down adequately
- When cleaning grill cover take care not to injure yourself on the sharp hooks.
- It is best to use a washing-up brush.
- When drying up grill cover,take care not to injure yourself on the sharp hooks,proceed with particular caution
- Wash grill cover,raclette pan and wooden spatulas by hand in hot washing-up water
- If heavily soiled,leave parts to soak in warm water for about 20-30minutes.you could add a few drops of washing-up liquid
- Carefully dry all parts after cleaning.
- It is normal if the metal parts become yellowish after long-time use.
TIPS AND HINTS ON USE
How to use the Grill Cover
CAUTION
Risk of injury! The hooks on grill cover are very sharp. Be carful not to
injure yourself on them. The grill cover gets very hot. Be careful not to burn
yourself on it.
- Spear the prepared thin slices of meat, fruit or vegetables on the hooks of grill cover.
- As the juices escape from the meat, they run down into the groove containing the stock to form an aromatic meat stock.
- Carefully turn the slices from time to time.
- As soon as the slices are cooked, you can take them off and eat them.
- Place chopped vegetables for boiling, rather than grilling, in the edge of grill cover . These are then cooked gently in the liquid.
- Note: Ensure that there is always enough liquid in the edge of the grill cover . Top up with some prepared stock if necessary. The grill cover 2 may be filled with a maximum of 400ml of liquid.
Tips on using the Grill Cover
- Where possible, prepare all the ingredients before the meal, but do not wash and cut them too early, so as to keep them fresh.
- Do not place the ingredients too close to the appliance, as it gives off a lot of heat and the ingredients are supposed to stay fresh.
- Cut ingredients to be cooked on grill cover in to this slices.
- Chopped ingredients should be cut to roughly the same sizes, so that they cook in around the same time.
- If the ingredients are not properly speared on the hooks, they may drop into the hot stock. The hot stock might them splash, leading to scalds.
Important Hints on Kitchen Utensils
- If you are using tongs or other utensils, ensure that they are made of wood or heat-resistant plastic if at all possible.
- When using metal cutlery or other items, avoid damage to the surface coating in particular.
Preparing Ingredients for the Grill Cover
- Pour prepared stock into the edge of grill cover. The grill cover may be filled with maximum of 400 ml of liquid.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking in the edge of grill cover by cutting them to the appropriate size: Dice with edges about 2 cm long; Strips about 1 cm wide; Slices about 1 cm thick.
- How you cut the individual ingredients to size depends on the ingredients in the question and on your personal taste.
- Use ingredients with short cooking times where possible.Vegetables like broccoli, mushrooms or bell peppers are especially suitable for cooking in the edge of grill cover.
- You can also part-cook vegetables in advanced.
How to use the Raclette
The basic recipe for raclette is a few thin slices of boiled potato topped
with vegetables, meat or sausage, finished with a slice of cheese. Feel free
to experiment with any recipe ideas you have. Season and flavor your dishes to
taste.
