LITHIUM-ION BATTERY DISPOSE OF PROPERLY
NOTES ON USING THE NP-W126S RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
- The NP-W126S rechargeable battery is a lithium-ion type.
- When removed from the camera, the battery should be stored and transported in the soft case provided. Any contact between the battery terminals could cause the battery to short-circuit and overheat. (Fig.1)
- Under cold conditions (less than +10°C (50°F)), even if the NP-W126S you are using is fully charged, the period over which the NP-W126S can be used will be shorter. Under these conditions, keep the NP-W126S warm in your pocket and install it in the digital camera just before you wish to take a picture. If you are using a heating pad, take care that the NP-W126S does not come into direct contact with the pad. Also, the NP-W126S will also become cold if you leave your digital camera in a cold place and the period over which the NP-W126S can be used will become shorter.
- For information on which battery charger is suitable, refer to the Owner’s Manual for the digital camera.
- For charging, the temperature should be between +10°C and +35°C (+50°F and +95°F). If the temperature is outside this range, the charging time may need to be longer in order to prevent the performance of the NP-W126S from deteriorating.
- When used at normal temperatures, the NP-W126S can be used 300 or more times. When there is a marked shortening of the period over which the NP-W126S can be used, even straight after it has been charged, the battery will have reached the end of its useful life and should be replaced.
- Wiping the battery with volatile substances such as benzine, thinners, and alcohol or with chemical scrubbers can cause a chemical reaction and damage the battery. (Fig.2)
NOTES ON STORAGE
Lithium-ion batteries are both compact and capable of storing large quantities of power. However, if they are stored for long periods while charged, the performance of the battery can be impaired.
- If the battery will not be used for some time, run the battery flat before storing it.
- Always remove the battery from the digital camera or battery charger when it is not being used.
- Place the battery pack inside the soft case and store it in a cool place.
- It is recommended that the battery should be stored in a dry location with an ambient temperature between +15°C and +25°C (+59°F and +77°F).
- Do not leave the battery in hot or extremely cold places
USING THE NP-W126S RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
- For information on how to use the battery, refer to the Owner’s Manual for the digital camera or battery charger. Charging using the Battery Charger BC-W126 takes approximately 150 minutes.
- When carrying the battery pack, install it in a digital camera or keep it in the soft case. When storing the battery pack, keep it in the soft case. Any contact between the battery terminals could cause the battery to short-circuit and overheat.
