digitech AR1948 DAB & FM Audio Receiver
Thanks for choosing our model. This device receives DAB or FM radio signal and transmits to your car home stereo system via Bluetooth transmission or Aux out cable. Meanwhile, it can receive music from your cell phone (via Bluetooth or aux in cable) and transmits to your home stereo system via Bluetooth transmission (or Aux out cable). The Bluetooth chip can be used with a wide range of devices. This device will make your life more interesting and enjoyable. Please read this user guide carefully before any operation.
WARNINGS & CAUTIONS
This device may be paired as a Bluetooth Master or Slaver using compatible Bluetooth enabled devices. Please read all safety instruction warnings carefully before using this product. Improper use of this product may result in damage to this or attached products. To ensure the products work well, please never use this in the following conditions:
- Conditions near a heater or high-temperature service.
- Conditions with direct and / or strong sunshine,
- Never dismantle the product. Doing so will nullify the warranty clause.
- Avoid dropping your AR1948 unit or subjecting it to excessive shock and vibrations as this may cause it to malfunction.
- DO NOT use any sharp object to operate your unit’s touch-screen display. Excessive force could damage the LCD display.
- The AR1948 unit IS NOT WATERPROOF. Avoid exposing it to rain or other forms of excessive moisture. Water damage is not covered under the warranty.

GETTING STARTED
- Push the Knob on the panel and hold for 3 seconds to turn on the unit. Check the battery symbol displays on the right-top of the screen to see the remaining battery. If the battery is less than 1 box, please connect the power adapter to the back of AR1948 and plug it into a power socket.
- It needs around 2.5 hours to get the battery fully charged.
- It’s okay to keep the power adaptor connected after the battery is fully charged.
- Plug the antenna into to antenna port and disclose the pig-tail cable to get a good DAB/FM signal reception.
- The time, date and any active alarm icon are displayed on the screen once the unit powered on.
- When the DC adaptor is connected to power supply, press and hold for 3 seconds to turn the device to standby mode (clock). Press and hold for 3 seconds again to exit standby mode.
- When the DC adaptor is disconnected to power supply, press and hold for 3 seconds to turn off the unit.
OPERATIONS MODE SWITCHING
There is multiple operation modes of this unit, the built-in Bluetooth chip can work as receiver or transmitter. Depends on different connections, you can enjoy the unit with different working modes. Please check below sheet for the details.

Bluetooth Transmitter Mode: go to the settings / Bluetooth device list menu and searching the Bluetooth device ID (speakers that you wanted to connect), push the knob on the panel to confirm the pairing. Once connected, you can enjoy DAB+ / FM radio or music from your cell phone from the speaker.
Bluetooth Receiver Mode: turn on Bluetooth on your phone (or other Bluetooth devices), search for a new device and select “AR1948” to start pairing. Once connected, you can enjoy music from your cell phone from the speaker.
Aux (line-in) Mode: plug the 3.5mm aux cable into the Line-in port of the unit and plug the other end of the aux cable into your cell phone (or other audio device), you can enjoy music from your cell phone from the speaker.
Aux (line-out) Mode: plug the 3.5mm aux cable into the Line-out port of the unit and plug the other end of the aux cable into your speaker, you can enjoy DAB+ / FM radio or music from your cell phone from the speaker.

Note: Before listening to the radio, ensure the antenna is adjusted with proper placement and direction. The icon on the top-left corner of the screen shows the signal reception quality.
Scanning for DAB+ Stations
- Press “AUTOSCAN” to run full scan of all stations.
- The scanning will stop at an available station.
Manual Tune
- If the device can’t receive the DAB+ station you are looking for, press “MENU” and go to Manual Tune mode, rotate the knob to select station frequency manually. Once station selected, press the knob to confirm and start tuning.
Preset the DAB+ Stations
- While listening to a DAB+ station, long press the number button on the panel (“1” to “6”) to store the station you selected. The screen will show the selected station for 3 seconds.
- Alternatively the current station can be stored to a preset by pressing and holding “1” to “6” respectively. Up to 6 presets can be stored.
DAB+ Information Display
- Press “INFO” to view the information of the current DAB+ station.
FM

- While listening to a FM station, long press the number button on the panel (“1” to “6”) to store the station you selected. The screen will show the selected station for 3 seconds.
- Alternatively the current station can be stored to a preset by pressing and holding “1” to “6” respectively. Up to 6 presets can be stored.
FM Station Information Display
- Press “INFO” to view the information of the current FM station.
MENU & SETTINGS
Note: At any operation mode, press “MENU” to enter the system menu & settings in order to change the device configurations. Tuning the knob to select submenu and press the knob to confirm.
Backlight
- Select illumination level of the backlight (High / Medium / Low)
Clock Setup
- Go to the Clock Setup and the Hour digits will flash and are ready for setting, rotate the knob to adjust the hour and press the knob to confirm.
- Repeat this process to set Minutes and Time showing format.
Date Setup & Date Display
- Go to the Date Setup and the Year digits will flash and are ready for setting, rotate the knob to adjust the Year and press the knob to confirm.
- Repeat this process to set Day, Month and Date showing format.
BT Device List
- Go to the BT Device List and press the knob to search the available Bluetooth device, rotate the knob to select the device ID you wanted and press the knob to start pairing.
Buzzer Alarm & Radio Alarm
- Go to Buzzer alarm and choose “on” by pressing the knob, rotate the knob to adjust the time (hour and minute), press the knob to confirm.
- Go to Radio alarm and choose “on” by pressing the knob, rotate the knob to adjust the time (hour and minute), alarm mode (once, week day, daily or weekend), Radio type (DAB or FM) and the according frequency, press the knob to confirm.
- When the alarms is set and saved, 2 clock icons will appear at the top of the display.
Sleep Mode
- Go to Sleep Mode, turn on the sleep mode and select the sleep time of 5 / 12/ 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 minutes. Press the knob to confirm.
Language Selection
- Go to language menu, rotate the knob to select the OSD language among English/German/Norwegian/Danish/Dutch/French/Italian, press the knob to confirm. Factory Reset
- Go to Factory Reset menu to reset the unit to factory version.
S/W Version
- Go to S / W Version menu to check the S / W version of the unit.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Errors | Solutions |

The device does not switch on. | 1. The battery may out of power. Check if the |
power adaptor is connected properly with the power supply.
2. The device may malfunction when used in areas with strong radio
interference.
The device will work properly again once interference ceases.
3. The normal function of the product may be disturbed by strong Electro-
Magnetic Interference. Try to use the product in another location
No sound.| 1. Turn on the sound as it may be muted.
2. Increase the volume.
3. The audio cable to the speaker system may not be connected properly.
No signal in DAB or hiss in FM mode.| 1. Check/move the antenna. Also try to
adjust the length of antenna.
2. Move the radio to another location.
Alarm doesn’t work.| 1. Switch on the alarm.
2. The volume may not be properly set, refer to the solutions of “No sound”
3. The source of alarm was set to a station without signal. Change the source
of alarm or refer to “No signal in DAB or hiss in FM mode”
