Alecto BC-04 Twin Thermometer Set

General

The Alecto TWIN
Thermometer Set allows you to measure the body temperature accurately, quickly and in a simple way. The thermometer set consists of the following 2 thermometers:

  • Model 1, for adults: for rectal use (between the buttocks), for oral use (in the mouth) or for underneath the armpit
  • Model 2, pacifier thermometer especially for babies: for oral use (in the mouth) with babies (measurement after 3-5 mins) Before use, read the safety guidelines to prevent endangering your baby. Please retain this manual for future use.

Safety guidelines:

  • Never attach a rope or cord to the pacifier thermometer; it might get entangled around your child’s neck and cause suffocation.
  • Before every use, check the pacifier of the pacifier thermometer for wear  and tear and verify that the pacifier is still correctly fastened. Do not longer use a pacifier when loosened or damaged.
  • Never use the pacifier thermometer as a regular pacifier.
  • Always clean the thermometers before and after use.
  • Store the thermometers out of reach of children.
  • The thermometer model-1 is suitable only for measuring the temperature of babies underneath the armpit.

Temperature

The temperature of the human body usually falls within the range of 36.5° c to 37.5°C. This temperature depends on a great many factors such as ageand the activities directly before measuring  the temperature. Additionally, the place where you measure the temperature (between the buttocks, underneath  the armpit, in the mouth) and the time of  the day influence the temperature (*). When consulting your doctor, always mention how you’ve measured the temperature.

  • Generally, the most accurate way to measure the temperature is rectal use (between the buttocks). An orally (in the mouth) measured temperature is approximately 0.5°C lower than between the buttocks. Furthermore, the temperature measured underneath the armpit is 0.5°C lower than in the mouth. Your temperature in the morning is lower than in the afternoon.

To measure the temperature:

  1. Press the power button once and wait until ‘X °C’ appears with the previous measurement value followed by ‘37 °C’.
  2. Choose which thermometer to use and, based on your choice and the person you’re measuring the temperature  of, place the thermometer between the buttocks, in the mouth or underneath the armpit.
  3. Leave the thermometer in place until you hear beeping tones or until ‘X °C‘ remains constant. You may now read the temperature in the display. Fever alert: above 37.8°C rapid beeps.
  4. Press the power button again to switch off the thermometer.
  5. Clean and then store the thermometer.

Memory :

The thermometers are provided with  a memory for the last measured temperature. As soon as you turn on the thermometer, at first the last measured temperature will appear in the display together with the letter M. Attention: this display only appears briefly and just once per measurement.
Power supply:

The thermometers are provided with long-life button cell batteries, which last for up to 1000 measurements or 250 hours.

Battery saving function:

In case you forget to switch off the thermometers manually, the thermometers will switch off automatically after 9 minutes.

To replace the thermometer battery:
