Safety instructions
Read the following instructions carefully before using the device.
CAUTION: High voltage! The danger of injury and material damage!
- Do not touch the electrodes.
- Even with the batteries removed, a voltage impulse can still be produced (residual charge).
- Never use the device on humans.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Before cleaning the device, remove the batteries and allow any residual charge to dissipate.
- Do not operate the device in liquids.
- Do not use the device to strike the animals.
CAUTION: Risk of physical injury and material damage if used incorrectly!
- Do not expose the battery to excessive temperatures, sunlight, or fire
- Protect the battery from vibration and shocks
- Only charge the battery with the power supply provided with the original unit #11262
- Maintain constant supervision when charging. Do not leave the battery to charge unattended and do not leave the charger plugged in overnight Stop charging after 18 hours (initial charge 24 hours). The charging process does not stop automatically and overloading leads to destruction and danger to people Only start charging when the battery is completely discharged
- Interrupt charging if the charger display shows a full charge Immediately interrupt charging if you notice the battery is heating up excessively
- Do not use the device if the casing is broken
- Avoid all skin contact and seal the device in a good plastic bag in the case of battery leakage
Correct use
The device is used as a droving implement for adult cattle and pigs.
Any other use, including use on humans, shall be deemed as not being compliant
with the intended use. Animal protection regulations applicable in each
country must also be observed.
Function
The device generates high voltage and delivers an electric shock when the
electrodes touch the animal.
Setup
- Electrodes
- Polycarbonate shaft
- Operating button
- On/Off switch
- Connection for mains adapter
Charging the batteries
- Switch the device off (OFF)
- Connect the mains adapter to the device (5)
- Connect the mains adapter to the mains voltage (230 V)
- First charge: 24 hours
- Each further charge: is 18 hours
- Light on the mains adapter: Green = The battery is full, Red = The battery is charging
- Charging the batteries only after they are fully discharged will significantly extend their service life.
Operation
- Switch the device on (ON).
- Press the operating button (3) and at the same time press the electrodes (1) onto the animal‘s hind leg muscles. The device delivers a surge of one-second duration. An audible signal will be heard for the duration of the shock.
- Take the device off the animal.
- Switch the device off (OFF).
- If the device is not going to be used for at least two weeks, remove the batteries in order to prevent premature discharging.
- Always recharge batteries immediately since there is a risk of deep discharge and battery failure if left discharged for long periods.
Changing the batteries
Only use the batteries supplied or those available as spares.
-
Switch the device off.
-
Loosen the screw on the underside of the device and remove the old battery.
-
Replace with the new battery oriented the same way and fully press together.
-
Tighten the screw.
Cleaning
CAUTION! High voltage!
Before cleaning the device, remove the batteries and allow any residual charge
to dissipate. The device can be cleaned with conventional cleaning agents and
water.
Disposal
The device must not be disposed of in the household waste. Under the terms of the EU Directive on the disposal of old electrical and electronic equipment, the device can be taken to local authority-run refuse sites or recycling plants free of charge, or returned to dealers who offer a returns service. Correct disposal protects the environment and prevents any possible harmful impacts on humans and the environment. Batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can return them to the manufacturer or to the designated collection facilities (municipal collections sites or stores). The battery contains cadmium in a concentration greater than 0.002 mass percent. Cadmium is toxic and therefore harmful to humans and the environment.
