IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

CAUTION: To minimize the risk of injury, read and heed these important safety precautions when operating this machine. Following these precautions, as well as general safety rules as you would for any work area will help to prolong the life of your machine.

  • DO keep your work area clean, well-lit, and free of any obstructions.

  • DO wear proper eye protection and hand protection such as safety glasses and gloves while the machine is
    in use, servicing or maintaining your machine.

  • DO ensure that your Polar Blast™ machine is properly grounded to avoid potential electric shock.

  • DO unplug your Polar Blast™ machine before any service or maintenance to prevent potential electric shock.

  • DO be sure to route your drain tube into a bucket or drainage grate. Avoid the buildup of water puddles and potential slip and fall injuries.

  • DO read and refer to these precautions, warnings, and instructions before you operate this machinery. Please refer to this manual often.

Note: The Safety Switch is designed to stop the Motor once the ice tamper handle leaves the ice chute. If, for any reason, the Motor does not stop once the ice tamper handle clears the top of the ice chute, discontinue use immediately and contact The Canada Popcorn Company at sales@popcornmachine.ca

  • DO NOT make any alternations to your machine. Altering your machine will void your warranty and could result in serious injury.

  • DO NOT immerse any part of your machine in water. Immersion may result in damage to the machine.

  • DO NOT allow untrained personnel, the public, and especially children to operate or have direct, physical contact with the machine.

  • NEVER put objects (knives, utensils, picks) near or into the shaver assembly while machine is in use. Keep body parts well away when machine is in operation. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
    The Popcorn Company will not be responsible for injury that occurs as a result of failure to follow these precautions.

  • DO NOT operate when under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put the unit in water or other liquid.
  3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  4. This machine must not be operated by anyone under the age of 18.
  5. Unit must be operated in a flat, level position.
  6. This machine must be connected to a grounded outlet.
  7. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
  8. Avoid contacting moving parts. Never place fingers or other utensils into feed or discharge areas.
  9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord, plug, after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the vendor for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
  10. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
  11. Household use only; Do Not Use Outdoors.
  12. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces..
  13. Visually inspect the ice hopper for presence of foreign objects before using and while the machine is unplugged and the power switch is off.
  14. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
  15. Do not clean unit with steel wool.
  16. Do not spray controls or outside of unit with liquids or cleaning agents.
  17. To disconnect, turn the power switch to OFF, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  18. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

LETS GET READY TO CRUSH SOME ICE

Before using this machine, it must be cleaned and dried thoroughly. Clean all surfaces before use with soap and water.
The ice crushing machine is intended to crush ice cubes for use in beverages and snow cone treats. Ice cubes should be a maximum of 2 inches in diameter. Larger pieces should be broken up before entering the machine.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place the machine in a place where is cannot be tipped or pushed off counter.
  2. Keep the area in front of the machine clear to allow unobstructed access while in operation.
  3. Keep machine and power cord away from open flames, electric burners or excessive heat.
  4. Use only grounded electrical outlets rated for 120V.
  5. Do not use an extension cord with this machine.
  6. Do not spray controls or outside of machine with liquids or cleaning agents.

OPERATION

  1. Position your Machine in a workspace large enough and clear from obstructions while operating.
  2. Open the door and wipe the acrylic cabinet with a dry cloth, check that the blade is firmly installed.
  3. Raise the handle on the ice chute, place ice cubes into the chute and lower handle.
  4. Flip on the Power ON. The motor will not start until the ice tamper handle is depressed. If the motor starts without the handle depressed, shut off the machine and disconnect power. Contact your dealer immediately.
  5. Press the handle to push the ice through the blade.
  6. Your crushed ice will deposit into the acrylic cabinet and can be removed by opening the door and scooping it out.

WARNING

Sharp blades, do not place hands in or near the ice chute while motor is running.

Keep water and other liquids from entering the inside of mechanical and electrical components of the Polar Blast. Liquid inside the mechanical and electrical components could cause an electrical shock.

CARE FOR YOUR Snow Cone Machine

Please clean your unit after each use to prolong service life and appearance.
NOTE: Do not clean machine with steel wool.

  1. Allow machine to cool before cleaning.
  2. Unplug your Snow Cone Machine.
  3. Remove cord from socket and never immerse plug or controls in water or any other liquid.
  4. Do not use solvents or chemicals to clean machine as they can contaminate the ice and might react with the acrylic.
  5. Use a damp cloth and soapy water to clean the machine and rinse thoroughly.
  6. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
