INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS

Thank you for purchasing a Recoil SoundBar for your audio system.

Recoil PSB11 SoundBar has been designed and engineered to the highest quality standards in the industry to create the ultimate listening experience in your vehicle. For optimal performance of this product, it is highly recommend ed that you have your new PSB11 SoundBar installed by a 12V professional. They have the necessary experience and installation equipment to ensure that your NSB SoundBar will deliver maximum performance.

If you decide to install the PSB11 SoundBar yourself, please thoroughly read through this manual before getting started. This manual will help familiarize yourself with the PSB11 SoundBar and guide you through the installation process and procedures. PSB11 SOUNDNBAR

PSB11 WIRELESS BASS REMOTE (OPTIONAL)

1. Double click pairing “O ” button to pair wireless remote with Soundbar.
2. Press 11 + 11 & 11  11 for level up & down.
3. Press “1>1>”&11” O<l<l “for track forward & backward
4. Press and hold ” t>OO ” to power.
5. Press” t>OO “to play and pause music on/off soundbar.
6. Double tap” t>OO” to switch between Bluetooth and Aux mode.
7. LED low battery indicator (Green), operation indicator (Blue) & charging indicator (Red)

BATTERY CHARGING

Open the cover at back of the unit, you will see the micro USB charging port. Plug in any DC5V/2.1A micro USB cable to charge the battery, the red LED stays on. When it is fully charged, the red LED stays off.

STEERING WHEEL/BAR MOUNT

Snap the unit into the plastic adaptor. Using the included rubber band for steering wheel & bar mounting, hold the rubber against the steering wheel. Wrap it around, then hook it up.

NOTE: You can also just simply “Velcro” the remote to the dash of your UTV or Golf cart.

SLING

Use the included sling to carry this waterproof remote control.

SETUP / OPERATION

Once the PSB11 soundbar is installed and properly wired , now its time to set it up and PLAY!

1. Press and HOLD the Power button to turn the unit on. (Power, Ground, and switched 12V + wire need to be connected to a 12V power source.)
2. Double Tap the Power button to switch modes between Bluetooth and AUX (3.5mm).
3. Hold the Power button for 2 seconds to turn the unit Off.
4. The included fuse loop, ring terminals, and butt connector allow for easy wire connection to a 12V power source – BATTERY.

OPERATION

Follow these steps to use Bluetooth functionality with a Bluetooth enabled device:

1. Power the PSB11 “On” by long pressing the Power button.
2. Select Bluetooth by double tapping the Power button.
3. Select “PSB11” from the menu on your Bluetooth enabled device. The unit will power on in Bluetooth mode First when it is turned on by If the accessory wire is disconnected, (IE: vehicle is turned off and then turned on) the unit will revert back to the previous Bluetooth or AUX setting.)
4. Choose “Pair” when prompted.
5. Once “Paired” the unit will be able to play audio from your Bluetooth The front panel control buttons will control track forward/back and volume up/down in this mode. The Play/Pause button will mute the output.

ACCESSING AUXILIARY INPUT SIGNAL DEVICE

Follow these steps to utilize an Auxiliary input device:

1. Start by tapping the Power button once.
2. Select Auxiliary by tapping the Power button .
3. Connect on audio device to the AUX input using the ‘RED’ 3.5mm input on the side of the unit. The LED will illuminate Yellow. The front panel control buttons will adjust the Volume up/down in this mode. The Play/Pause button will mute the audio output.

INSTALLATION – SECOND SOUNDBAR OR SUBWOOFER

Using the auxiliary output (black connector).

1. Auxiliary out is a variable output that allows connection to a secondary audio device, whether it is an external amplifier connected to speakers or subwoofer, OR a powered subwoofer (like a Recoil RAS8).
2. For the best audio performance, the second unit ( be it external amplifier connected to speakers or subwoofer, OR a powered subwoofer) is connected via an auxiliary 6 Pin DIN connector (supplied) and this device should have the volume set to the max. As volume will now be controlled by the 1st Recoil Soundbars Bluetooth receiver.
3. Power wiring of the secondary audio device is straight forward – connect power, ground and remote switched 12V output to the remote turn-on wire to the secondary audio device. When the Recoil is power on, so is the secondary audio device.

INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS

1. If installing on an ALL electric vehicle, switch it into TOW mode. Carefully remove the Positive(+) then Negative(-) battery wires.

2. If installing in a gas vehicle, wire the Negative (Black) wire to the Negative(-) battery terminal first and then the Positive (Red) wire to the Positive(+) battery terminal.
   

3. Route the RED Aux In @Aux Out 6 Pin DIN to your desired location. The Aux In is for a music source that does not have Bluetooth The Aux Out 6 Pin DIN is to connect to an optional Recoil amplifier or Recoil amplified subwoofer.
   If you desire to use someone else amplifier, powered subwoofer or soundbar you will need to purchase the optional accessory 6 Pin DIN “Break Out” cable as shown below.

4. Tie up all excess wires and reinstall B+ Positive(+) then Negative(-) Battery wires. If installing on an electric vehicle, switch it back into RUN Note: DC-DC Converter is required on electric vehicles to avoid damage to the accessory and the vehicle

FUNCTIONS

1. Volume Up – Turns the Volume UP
2. Volume Down -Turns the Volume DOWN
3. Press and Hold For 3-5 Seconds to turn the unit on or off
4. Song choice – Select NEXT song FORWARD

INSTALLATION – METHOD THREE – GOLF CART

Third Method – Mounting via Threaded Bolts (this would be for Golf Carts typically)

1. Included are two threaded bolts that fit into the “Slide” .
2. Slide the dove tail aluminum part with bolts into the recessed “notched” area.
3. Spread the bolts as you slide them into the desired locations where the unit is to be tightened down.
4. Measure the dimension between the bolts. Use this as the mounting hole dimensions.
5. Drill 7/16″ holes into the overhead tube cage to put the bolts thru.
6. Mount the soundbar with the bolt securely into the slide and press be bolts thru your drilled mounting holes.
7. Use included Steel washer, rubber washers and Stainless to secure info place as shown below.
8. Tighten M10 NUT so unit is secure. You may want to use “Loctite” to secure these nuts.
9. Connect wires to power, ground, and ignition.

OVERVIEW OF SOUNDBAR AND THE 3 METHODS OF INSTALLATION

The Recoil PSB11 SoundBar can be used with any 12-volt system and can be mounted to a variety of ways and vehicle types using the included hardware.

The unit includes two low clearance brackets, Roll Bar Mounts, that fit 1.75″ and 2″ bars. The clamps can be used in three (3) ways – on the top of the soundbar channel (at a O degree angle), at the rear quarter (at a 45 degree angle) and at the back (at a 90 degree angle).

This allows for many applications and can be adjusted to fit multiple types of bars including vertical, horizontal, or angled bars allowing for multiple mounting options.
The Second method of installation is the Roof Mount. This mounts to the side and give you 360 degree of rotation to mount in a variety of vehicles that do NOT have a Roll Bar to attach to, or that the Pipe Clamp is too tall. The Roof Mount will mount to a small Roll Bar, or flat surface from underneath without a clamp assembly. Making it a much shallower mount.
Third method of installation is the Golf Cart mount. This is a simple low profile mount when there is small square roll bar to attach to or you need as shallow and simple a mount possible. A golf cart is a good example.

The Smart Handle

The smart handle is a first of its kind. We created the smart handle with the ease of use in mind. The main purpose of the smart handle is to allow super fast and easy installation of the RAS8 soundbar.
The smart handle will allow you to install the speaker without the need of using any tools. But, we do recommend to use a nut wrench to complete the installation of the Recoil SoundBar. As described later on pages 4 and 5 of this user manual, after closing the smart handle, a 13mm nut wrench will help you achieving a super strong grip of the mounting clamp to the bar. This is HIGHLY recommended for a secure mount

INSTALLATION – METHOD ONE – ROLL BAR ****

Roll Cage/Bar fitment:

The Recoil PSB11 Soundbar comes with 4 pairs of rubber inserts and 2 Aluminum mounting CLAMPS. The mounting system of the NSUB is built to fit 1.5″, 1.75″,1.85″ & 2″ bars. Thus, the PSB11 Soundbar will fit most UTV’s models, as well as Golf carts

NOTE: Before installing please measure your roll cage’s Roll Bar diameter. Rubber Inserts: Each rubber insert has its intended size written on it.
Aluminum CLAMP: The SoundBar has 2 Aluminum CLAMP in 2 different sizes.
SPECIAL NOTE: Smaller CLAMP should be used for 1.5″ & 1.75″ bars while the bigger one should be used for 1.85″ & 2″ bars.

• Smaller Clamp

First Mounting Possiblity – METHOD 1 – PIPE CLAMPS

Disassembly the Pipe Clamps. Put all Metal Loop and locking hardware off to the side, preferred in a bag or bowl so you don! loose the parts.
Take 14 mm bolt with lock washer and place it through bottom of clamp and slightly thread into “Dove” tailed “Slide” piece. You will need a 5mm Allen to accomplish this task.
Slide assembly and lock washer into the recessed “notched” area placing the unit at angle/mounting

INSTALLATION – METHOD TWO – ROOF MOUNT

Take all the roof mount parts and put those into a jar or clear zip lock bag. Make sure ALL the parts are there as once you start you don! want to be looking for parts. Make your decision where you are going to mount the soundbar with the ” Roof” Mount setup.

1. Lossy assemble the T part to the L part with the 13mm nut and washer. Hand tighten.
2. Slide the T assemble onto the soundbar. Using the 5mm Allen wrench provided tighten securely the 5mm Panhead machine bolts with washers to the soundbar.
3. Using the sundbar as the measurement device hold it up to the mounting location and using a sharpie mark the place to drill the 10mm holes

INSTALLATION – METHOD ONE – ROLL BAR

Roll Bar Mounts:
The roll bar mounting system with “Smart Handle” Is a 5 – Part setup – with 3 main parts

1. 1st Part is the BASE MOUNT. Which is an extruded chuck of aluminum, that slides into the ” dove Tail ” mounting grooves on the PSB11 SoundBar. All the mounting
2. 2nd Part is the CLAMP which slid onto the BASE MOUNT Part of that assembly MOUNT is also the rubber inserts. These MUST      be used for a solid mounting! Remember that you must pick the correct rubber insert for a secure mount!
3. 3rd Part is the” Smart Handle”. This LOCKS the whole 3 part system together.

INSTALLATION – METHOD ONE – ROLL BAR (cont’d)

Disassemble the Rool Bar Mount and put all parts into a jar or a clear plastic bag – Lets start the 5 Part Setup

1. Take the BODY part as shown, slide it into the “dove tail” slots and into your desired mounting position.
2. Using the 5mm Pan Head machine screw and screw them down to lock the body onto soundbar.
3. Now slide the Aluminum Band as shown, into the body. Be careful to line up the Smart handle bolt holes on the Aluminum Band and the body.
4. Slide the Smart Handle with bolt thru the hole of the Aluminum Band and the Body as shown, into the body. Put the washer and 8mm nut on. Hand tighten.
5.  Smart Handle should be down now and the assemble hand tightened with the 8mm nut.
