SAFETY RULES

To maintain safety use the product accordingly to its purpose and the information provided in this manual.

WARNINGS

  1. There are sharp edges on external measurement jaws (fig. 1/1), interna,l measurement jaws (fig. 1/2) and depth rod (fig. 1/3). To prevent cuts be very careful when using the caliper.
  2. Do not make measurements of rotating objects. Rotating parts (e.g. of a working machine) may cause body injuries. It also causes faster wear of the caliper measurement surfaces.
  3. Dthe o not apply voltage (e.g. of electric tester) to any part othe f the caliper, it may damage electronic assembly of the caliper.
  4. Remove the battery from the caliper, when it is not to be used for a long time.

CALIPER OPERATION
Ensure all caliper surfaces are free from grease, dust, dirt and filings before starting to use the caliper. Use a cloth to wipe all measurement surfaces of the caliper before starting to work. Use of any organic fluid is forbidden. Ensure that all buttons and LCD displays operate correctly.

To make a measurement:

  • loosen the slider lock screw (fig. 1/7),
  • and press the ON/OFF button (fig. 1/12)
  • select desired measurement unit by pressing the unit toggle button (fig. 1/9) —every time the button is pressed, measurement units change,
  • use the slider shift roller (fig. 1/8) to move the jaws closer; the displayed value (fig. 1/6) should be zero; when it is not so, press the zero adjustment button (fig. 1/10),
  • the display can be zeroed at any point within the measurement range.

Measuring external dimensions (fig. 2)

  • Position measured object as close to the guide reference surface as possible,
  • Move measurement jaws to contact the outer surfaces of the measured object.
  • Measuring internal dimensions (fig. 3)
  • Slide internal measurement jaws as deep as possible,
  • Move measurement jaws to contact the inner surfaces of the measured hole.
  • Measuring depth (fig. 4)
  • Slide the depth measurement rod into the hole and position the guide perpendicular to the reference surface of the measurement.

Differential measurements (using display zero adjustments, fig. 5)

  • Used for e.g. deviation from a standard, zeroing at a calibration dimension.

MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the caliper dry and clean (any fluid may damage the slider) (fig 1/11).
  2. Measurement jaws should be delicately wiped with a cloth. Never use petrol, acetone or any other organic liquid.
  3. To save power when the caliper is not used for some time, switch it off with the OFF button (fig. 1/12).
  4. Except for the above, all other rules of operation for a standard caliper apply.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Fault Cause What to do
Digits flicker on the display Battery voltage is below 1.45V **Replace the

battery (fig. 6)**
• unscrew screws fixing the battery compartment lid (fig. 1/5).
• replace the battery; position the new one keeping the polarity (positive battery contact at the top)
Battery voltage is below 1.4 V
No digits on the display| Bad battery connection| Remove battery compartment lid and check battery position
Displayed digits do not change when the slider is moved| Random fault in caliper internal circuit| Remove the battery and reinstall it after approximately 30 seconds
Accuracy lower than specified in technical parameters, but within 0.1 mm| Sensor dirty| Deinstall slider cover and clean interior with compressed air (5 bar).

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
**** Do not dispose of electrically powered products with household wastes. they should be utilized in proper plants. Obtain information on waste utilization from your seller or local authorities. Used-up electric and electronic equipment contains substances active in the natural environment. Unrecycled equipment constitutes a potential risk for the environment and human health.
