WARNING AND CAUTION
Important Safety Instructions
This user manual contains important technical and safety instructions, it must
be read attentively before using the battery charger to ensure personnel
safety and reliable operation of this equipment. Local and/or national safety
and electrical code(s)/ standard(s) must be obeyed. Hazardous conditions may
result if the charger is not installed or operated correctly. Please read the
instructions to prevent injury or damage to the charger.
-
Designed for charging 6V/12V Lead-Acid, GEL or AGM automotive type of batteries and 12V LiFeP04 batteries. Other types of batteries may burst which causes personal injury and property damage.
-
Prohibit 12V STD, 12V AGM/C, 12V GEL, 12V LFP, SUPPLY mode or any 12V charging modes to charge 6V lead-acid batteries or any lithium ion battery.
-
12V LFP mode is only suitable for 12V lithium iron phosphate battery, not for any other lithium ion batteries, it is forbidden to charge lithium ion batteries.
-
For lead-acid batteries with a battery voltage of less than 3V, it is recommended to replace the battery if the voltage cannot be increased using this charger.
-
For the battery that displays “BAT” signal on the screen, it is recommended to replace the battery.
-
Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by the battery charger manufacturer may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. Connection to mains supply is to be in accordance with National wiring rules.
-
To reduce risk of damage to electric plug and cord, pull by plug rather than cord when disconnecting chargers.
-
Do not expose the metal components of connecters while charging, make sure they are covered before connected to power and battery.
-
Make sure the cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or stress.
-
We recommend you had better not expose charger to rain, snow or moisture, not operate it in
a damp or wet environment. Although this charger is IP65 waterproof, the SEA connector between the cord and attachment is not waterproof. -
An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use of improper extension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If an extension cord must be used, make sure:
- a. The pins on the plug of the extension cord are the same number, size and shape as those of the plug on the charger.
- b. That extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition.
-
Do not operate charger with damaged cords or plugs, replace them immediately.
-
Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way.
-
Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way.
-
Do not disassemble charger; take it to a qualified serviceman when service or repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
-
To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug charger from outlet before attempting any maintenance or cleaning. Turning off controls will not reduce this risk.
-
WARNING – RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES
- a. Working in the vicinity of a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Batteries may generate explosive gases during normal battery operation. Provide adequate ventilation and prevent sparks and flames around charging area. Explosive gases may escape from the battery during charging.
- b. To reduce risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those published by battery manufacturer and manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use in vicinity of battery. Review cautionary marking on these products and on engine. Take necessary safety precautions when you are installing the charger near a battery or in a battery compartment.
-
Do not attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries. Never charge a frozen battery. Never place the charger directly above or below the battery being charged; gases or fluids from the battery will corrode and damage the charger. Locate the charger as far away from the battery as DC cables permit. Do not install the charger in the same compartment as batteries.
-
This appliance is not intended for use by young children or any person with limited capabilities
(mental and physical). Only qualified personnel should do maintenance, attempt repairs or program the charger. Please store disconnected and out of reach of unsupervised children.
Personal Safety Precautions
- If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. If acid enter eye, immediately flood eye with running cold water for at least 10 minutes and get medical attention immediately.
- NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in vicinity of battery or engine.
- Be extra cautious to reduce risk of dropping a metal tool onto battery. It might spark or short circuit battery or other electrical part that may cause explosion.
- Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches when working with the lead-acid batteries. A lead-acid battery can produce a short circuit current high enough to weld a ring or the like to metal, causing a severe burn.
- Use the charger for charging Lead acid, Gel, Calcium, AGM and EFB batteries. It is not intended to supply power to a low voltage electrical system other than in a starter motor application. Do not use battery charger for charging dry-cell batteries that are commonly used with home appliances. These batteries may burst and cause injury to persons and damage to property.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Intended Use
The product is designed to charge and maintain 6V/12V GEL, AGM, and standard
lead-acid batteries, 12V lithium iron phosphate batteries. Any use other than
that described above may damage this product and involves the risk of short
circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
Preparing To Charge
- If it is necessary to remove battery from vehicle to charge, always remove grounded terminal from battery first. Make sure all accessories in the vehicle are off,so as not to cause an arc.
- Be sure area around battery is well ventilated while battery is being charged.
- Clean battery terminals. Be careful to keep corrosion from coming in contact with eyes.
- Add distilled water in each cell until battery acid reaches level specified by battery manufacturer. Do not overfill. For a battery without removable cell caps, such as valve regulated lead acid batteries, carefully follow manufacturer’s recharging instruction.
- Study all battery manufacturer’s specific precautions and instructions while charging.
- Determine voltage of battery by referring to the vehicle’s manual and make sure the output voltage mode is correct.
Connection
To avoid sparks which could probably cause an explosion, the mains supply
should always be disconnected before making or breaking battery connections.
Connect the battery clips or ring terminals to the battery in the following
order:
- Connect the positive clip (RED) to the positive post of the battery (marked + /+ve or P).
- For vehicles with the battery still installed: Connect the negative clip(BLACK) to the vehicle chassis (marked – / -ve or N), well away from the battery, fuel line, and hot or moving parts.
For batteries removed from the vehicle: Connect the negative clip (BLACK) to the negative post of the battery (marked – / -ve or N). After connecting the clips, rotate them slightly so as to remove any dirt or oxidization, thus ensuring a good contact.
Charging
- First make sure your battery is a 6V or 12V battery. Do not use 12V charge mode to charge 6V batteries !
- Then connect the battery charger to the battery with the correct polarity. If connected with reverse polarity or short-circuit at the clamps, the “Err” will be lit.
- Connect the battery charger to the AC power supply.
- Select the appropriate charging mode for your batteries with the “Mode” button.
- Refer to 2-1 Product Overview for a description of the individual operating modes.
- The charger has built in auto-memory and will return to the last charge mode when next connected.
- After the charging process, disconnect the battery charger from the power supply, first remove the clamp from the negative terminal and then from the positive terminal.
Safety Features
This battery charger is fitted with the following safety features:
- Short circuit Protection
- Overload Protection
- Reverse Polarity Protection
- Overcharging Protection
- Over-temperature Protection
Charging Time
A partially charged battery will take less time to charge than a fully
discharged battery. The approximate charging time for a battery can be
calculated using the following equation:
Approx. charg me/h = A
For 6V Batteries (2A max) | For 12V Batteries (lOA max) |
---|---|
Battery Capacipty (Ah) | Time (Hours) |
6Ah | 3H |
12Ah | 6H |
lSAh | 7.SH |
20Ah | l0H |
24Ah | 12H |
30Ah | 15H |
