User Guide
Installing the battery
- Remove the battery cover located on the bottom of the keyboard
- Insert the supplied batteries, making sure that the positive (I-) and negative (-) ends of each battery match the polarity indicators inside the battery compartment.
Low Battery Alert
Chrome OS” will detect low batteries in the keyboard and will alert the
user with an on-screen notification of low battery for the “Targus BT Keyboard
AKB869”.

Establishing pairing

Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to enable Bluetooth pairing mode, the blue LED indicator light will flash for up to 3 minutes when the keyboard is in pairing mode.

Select “Targus BT Keyboard AKB869” in the Bluetooth menu on your Chrome device.

Type in the security code on the keyboard, then press Enter (Security code is randomly generated by Chrome OS in pairing mode).

Select “Targus BT Keyboard AKB869” in the Bluetooth menu on your device.

The pairing will start automatically.

The Targus Wireless Antimicrobial Midsize Keyboard is now connected to your Chrome device and the blue LED will stop flashing.
Note: The user can power the keyboard on/off by pressing the power button once.
Help with the setup: Keyboard is not working
- Check the orientation of the batteries inside the keyboard, or replace the batteries.
- Remove any metal object between the receiver and the keyboard that may interfere w the reception
- Restart the computer and Power off/on your keyboard.
- After pa ring for the first time, your device will automatically connect to the keyboard within 3-5 seconds the next time you turn on the keyboard.
- In case of connection failure, delete the keyboard from the Bluetooth menu of your device, and try repairing the keyboard to your device.
