INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Charging

The appliance may be charged in the stand with a connected adaptor or individually. The switch A1 must be in position O before charging. Plug the adaptor connector C2 into the socket in the stand C1 or into socket A7 in the appliance, then plug the fork of the adaptor into the mains. An indicator light A2 will light up. To ensure full capacity of the rechargable batteries, charge the appliance for approx. 16 hrs before first use and then discharge it by using it regularly. Every other recharge takes approx. 8 hours. Fully charged batteries provide operation time for approx. 50 minutes.
When using the adaptor, a continuous operation should not exceed 45 minutes. Then let the appliance cool off for 10 minutes.
The appliance heats up during charging or operation, which is normal. After charging, unplug the adaptor from the mains first and only then unplug the connector from the appliance.

Recommendation: Discharge the battery every 6 months by regular use of the trimmer (without the adapter being connected to the power supply). Then charge the trimmer fully again.

Use

We recommend oiling the blades with the oil attached (pic. 5). You may use the appliance without attachment – for trimming contours or with a selected attachment B according to a desired hairstyle length. Slide the attachment on the appliance head onto the guiding grooves in a way that it locks in the protrusions A4. Proceed reversely when taking the attachments off. Wash, dry and brush your hair with a brush before trimming. Turn the appliance on with the switch A1. Hold the appliance with ease so that you can control it perfectly. Trim off only little bits of hair first to get used to the length of hair which the attachment offers. For an even haircut never go through the hair fast. The clippers work best at their own pace. Turn the clippers off with the switch A1 after finishing.

Cutting hair with the use of the attachments

  1. We recommend first trying the attachment B2 and only then, if you wish for a shorter cut, use the attachment B1. Always turn the clippers with a switch A1 before changing the attachments. Set the length of the cut by turning the control A5 to position 1 to 5 (in each position, an audible click will sound). The selected length of cut is marked by an arrow on the left side of the clippers.
  2. Comb the hair in the direction of its natural growth.
  3. Start cutting by shortening the hair on the sides from below to the top. Guide the trimmer slowly against the hair with the adapter leading upwards, but flatwise along the head. Lift up the appliance slowly and offward head. Cut only small volume of hair in each stroke.
  4. Repeat step 3 on the sides and on the back around the whole head.
  5. Start trimming hair on the top of the head from front to the back with the adapter teeth held along the head. In the first couple of trimmings it is recommended to leave hair longer.

Cutting contours

  1. No adapter is used for aligning contours.
  2. Comb the hair in the required style.
  3. Set the trimmer between hairline and ear. Check whether the corner of the trimmer blades is set against hairline. Follow the hairline and go round the ear slowly with the trimmer upwards and to the back. Do not push on the trimmer.
  4. At the back on the neck and by the sideburns, hold the appliance against the skin and go down at the required length.

Perfect short military cut

  1. Always cut from the scruff to the head top using the longest setting. Hold the trimmer flatwise along the head and move it slowly through the hair upwards. Apply the same procedure on the head sides; even here move the trimmer bottom-up.
  2. On the front part of the head top, cut the hair against the growth direction. Then align the cut against the cut on the temples.
  3. If you want to reach even cut on the top, cut the hair using a straight comb, not the trimmer adapter. Use the comb for cutting hair on the top of the head.
  4. To shorten the cut towards the neck, gradually use shorter adapters. Comb through the hair and look for unevenness in the cut. Align the cut by the neck and at the ears.

If you want to reach graduated short cut along the sides of the head and on the neck, follow the instructions on fig. 2.The mentioned main areas on the figure are your map for becoming an amateur barber easily.

Trimming beard

  1. Before trimming beard, wet it a bit and comb it.
  2. Mark the beard line using the trimmer and cut out the beard exceeding the line on the outside.
  3. If you want to reach even beard cut, use one of the B adapters or trim the ends carefully in parts using a comb by moving the comb through the beard upwards (fig. 3). Repeat the process on the whole beard.
  4. After the end of trimming, shave the area around the beard in a usual way.

Thinning out hair or facial hair

If you wish to thin out the hair or facial hair while trimming, turn the control A6 to position .

MAINTENANCE

Turn off the appliance before each maintenance, or unplug the adapter from the electric socket! Do not use rough and aggressive detergents! Wipe the trimmer surface with a wet soft cloth.

Cleaning blades

Clean the blades with an enclosed brush. If the blades are very soiled, you can remove the whole trimming head from the trimmer (figure 5) and clean it in running water. Also clean the area below the removed trimming head. After drying, put the head with the blades back to the trimmer in the opposite way (you will hear a clicking sound).
In order to keep the trimmer in a perfect condition, you have to lubricate the list with blades using one or two drops of oil for sewing machines (figure 5). Do not use hair oil, petroleum jelly or oil mixed with petrol or any other solvent because after evaporation the solid parts of the lubricant could slow down operation of the blades. Insert the trimming head to the trimmer properly, turn on the trimmer and then turn it off and wipe out the excessive oil from the blades.

Storage

Put the trimmer with the accessories back to the original package at a dry and dust free place, out of reach of children and incapacitated people.
