INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The electric fan is an appliance ensuring air circulation particularly in summer months in smaller residential and work premises with standard environment according to HD 384.3 S1.

SAFETY WARNING

  • Before the first use, read the instructions for use carefully, look at the picture and store the instructions for use for the future. Consider the instructions for use as a part of the appliance and pass them on to any other user of the appliance.

  • Check whether the data on the type label correspond with the voltage in your socket. The power supply plug has to be connected to a socket of electrical installation that conforms to respective standards.

  • Never use the appliance if its power cord or plug is damaged, if it does not work properly, if it fell down and was damaged or if it fell into water. In this case take the appliance to a special service to check its safety and proper function.

  • The appliance is intended for use in households only and for similar use within the intention of EN 60 335-1!

  • This appliance is not intended for outdoor use.

  • The appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) whose physical, sensual or mental inability or lack of experience and knowledge makes safe use of the appliance impossible, if they are not supervised or if they have not been instructed regarding use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to make sure they will not be playing with the appliance.

  • Do not insert to or take the plug out of a socket with wet hands and do not pull the power cord!

  • The appliance is not intended for use in damp or wet environment and in environment with the risk of fire or explosion.

  • The appliance cannot be used in bathrooms in zones 0, 1 and 2 HD 384.3 S1!

  • It must not be used in close proximity of bathtubs, a shower or a swimming pool.

  • The fan must not be immersed into water or other liquids (even partially) and it must not be used in close proximity of bathtubs, showers, wash basins or other water containers, including a swimming pool. If the ventilator falls into water, do not take it out! First of all unplug the power cord from the socket and only then take out the fan. In this case take the appliance to a special service to check its safety and proper function.

  • The fan must not be used in premises where chemical substances, colours and other flammable substances are used or stored.

  • When handling the appliance, try to prevent injury.

  • Use the appliance in the working position only at places with no risk of turning over and in a sufficient distance from objects (such as curtains, drapes, etc.), heat sources (e.g. fireplace, heater, stove, cooker, radiators, hot air ovens, grills) and wet surfaces (e. g. sinks, wash basins).

  • Do not fix the fan on a wall or ceiling.

  • Do not switch on the fan if the appliance is not completely assembled or if the blade wheel covers are damaged.
    Please check before every connection of the appliance to power supply whether the switches on the control panel is in the off position and always disconnect the appliance from power supply after use.

  • For additional protection we recommend installation of current protection (RCD) with the nominal release current not exceeding 30 mA. Ask a control technician or an electrician for advice.

  • Never let air flow on you (or animals) for prolonged time.

  • Use only original parts designed for this type.

  • Holes for air ventilation must not be covered.

  • Never put fingers or other objects into inlet and outlet holes of the fan.

  • Make sure that impurities do not enter into the appliance (e.g. clouds of dust, hair etc.).

  • If impurities are sucked and settled inside the appliance, clean it (see par.

MAINTENANCE

  • Do not put the switched on fan on soft surfaces (e.g. on a bed, towels, wipers, carpets).
  • Make sure that the power cord does not hang over the edge of the working table where children could reach it.
  • Do not wind the power cord around the appliance; this will extend life of the power cord.
  • If you need to use an extension cord, it has to be uncorrupted and it has to comply with the valid standards.
  • Check the condition of the power cord of the appliance regularly.
  • The power cord must not be damaged with sharp or hot objects, open fire; it must not be sunk into water or bent over sharp edges.
  • If the power cord of the appliance is corrupted, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer, its service technician or a similarly qualified person so as to prevent dangerous situations.
  • Never use the appliance for any other purpose than for that described in these instructions for use!
  • The producer is not responsible for damage caused by improper use of the appliance (e.g. injury, fire, etc.) and its guarantee for the appliance does not apply to situations when the safety warnings above are not complied with.

DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE

PREPARATION FOR USE

Remove all the packing material and take out the fan. Remove all possible adhesion foils, stick-on labels or paper from the appliance.

Assembling the fan blade wheel cover (Fig. 1a, 2a)

  • Unscrew matrix B4 from drive unit A2 clockwise (applies to type ETA 1609) and matrix B2 anticlockwise. Set back cover B1 to drive A2 so that the projections on the drive unit case snap in the holes in cover B1. Secure the case by screwing matrix B2 clockwise and fix it tightly. Set blade wheel B3 to shaft A3 to the maximum position (in type ETA 1609 it should be blocked with the projections on the shaft). Secure the blade wheel in type ETA 1609 by screwing matrix B4 anticlockwise. Put front cover B5 to back cover B1, then secure it with bonding material B6.
  • Make sure that all the parts fit together and that the fastening matrices are tightened properly. The blade wheel of the fan must turn freely after assembling the cover and it must not vibrate when operating.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • Place the assembled fan on a suitable flat surface (see par. I. SAFETY WARNINGS). Set the direction of air flow by tilting drive unit A2 to the respective position (upwards or downwards). Plug power cord A7 to an electric socket. On control panel A1 select the required speed of air flow by pressing the button. The higher number you choose, the higher the speed of air flow will be.
  • In type ETA 1609, start the function of the fan turning to the sides by pressing control A5. You can stop turning in the opposite way (pulling the control out).
  • In type ETA 0609 the fan turns to the sides automatically after switching on.
  • Switch off the fan by pressing button 0 on control panel A1. The fan can be held and carried by handle A6.
    Note: If the function of the fan rotation is on, control A5 is turning.

MAINTENANCE

Switch off and unplug the appliance from power supply before any maintenance by taking the plug of the power cord out of the socket! Do not use rough and aggressive detergents! Carry out surface maintenance only (wipe off dust etc.) Use e.g. a soft damp cloth for removing old dust of other impurities. Dust and impurities settled inside the fan can be cleaned by vacuuming or blowing out, or disassembling cover B. Follow the steps on Fig. 1a, 2a when disassembling and assembling the appliance again. Make sure that all the parts fit together and that the fastening matrices are tightened properly. The blade wheel of the fan must turn freely after assembling the cover and it must not vibrate when operating. Store the appliance at a safe and dry place, out of reach of children and incapacitated people.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

  • If the dimensions allow, there are labels of materials used for production of packing, components and accessories as well as their recycling on all parts. The symbols specified on the product or in the accompanying documentation mean that the used electrical or electronic products must not be disposed of together with municipal waste. For proper disposal, hand them over at special collection places where they will be accepted free of charge. Suitable disposal of the product can help to maintain valuable natural resources and to prevent possible negative impacts on the environment and human health, which could be the possible consequences of improper waste disposal. Ask for more details at the local authorities or at a collection site. Fines can be imposed for improper disposal of this type of waste in agreement

  • with the national regulations.
    If the appliance is to be put out of operation definitely, we recommend cutting off the feeder cable, to disable its use.

  • More extensive maintenance or maintenance requiring intervention in the inner parts of the appliance must be carried out by a professional service!

  • Failure to comply with the instructions of the manufacturer will lead to expiration of the right to guarantee repair!
