Aurora5 Kit312 Radio Model – 3D overview

The Aurora5 Kit312 radio model (AM_AU5_KIT312) contains two radio transceivers running at 3.84 MHz and 2.4 GHz and both are implemented on a single hardware platform.
The radio model is implemented in the main PCB with a connection to the antennas, telecoil, microphones, speaker, and battery terminals. The radio model (main PCB) can be seen in the mounted 3D overview to the left.
The 3.84 MHz radio is a low-power, short-range inductive radio transceiver ( NFMI – Near Field magnetic Induction) working at a single channel at 3.84 MHz using MSK modulation with 320 kbit/s data rate and connected to a small coil antenna.
The 2.4 GHz radio is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE core 5.1) transceiver using GFSK/2FSK modulation with 1 Mbit/s, 2 Mbit/s data rate also capable of proprietary reception modes (BLE) with higher data rates (2 Mbit/s, 4 Mbit/s) using 2FSK/4FSK modulation. The 2.4 GHz radio is connected to a short internal wire antenna with a maximum gain of -3.1 dBi (Typically -8.7 dBi).
The telecoil is optional mounting.
The Aurora5 KIT312 requires only a single cell Zinc-air 312 battery, a battery door, customized plastic shell in order to be an operational hearing aid. The AMAU5-KIT312 stack-up can create an ITC host or an ITE HS/FS custom hearing aid host.
The AM-AU5-KIT312 module is tested in a reference host as all I/O, sensors, acoustic interfaces and antennas are externally mounted around the module. The reference host represents the worst-case configuration and conditions for the AM-AU5-KIT312 module. The worst-case host configuration is tested in all operating modes and an FCC part 15B and ICES-003 is demonstrating the compliance of the custom host type ITC, ITE FS or ITE HS. The production performs full operational tests on all manufactured custom products.
The Aurora5 KIT312 radio model is intended to be installed in Oticon, Bernafon, Sonic, Philips and affiliated private labels wireless hearing aid devices of the KIT312 (Custom designed ITC – In The Canal or ITE – In The Ear) wearing style.
The antenna has a 5 mm distance to the skin around the ear. The antenna is always fixed around the battery door and facing away from the ear. The antenna cannot be removed or placed differently when building the ITC or ITE HS/FS custom host product.
The custom hearing aids are all label exempted and thus the product label is placed on the packaging label and the IFU.

Radio Model – Regulatory Label Information for Japan
Description: Radio module with 2.4 GHz low power transceiver to be integrated into various hearing instruments and associated devices.
Regulatory label:

| NB: The regulatory label for Japan is included in the IFU for Japan.
---|---

This equipment contains specified radio equipment that has been certified to the Technical Regulation Conformity Certification under the Radio Law under the grant ID: 202- SMK023.
This device should not be modified (otherwise the granted designation number will become invalid)
NB: The regulatory label is not shown on the radio module itself or any end products with it, since they are too small for the label to be readable without any optical aids or magnification. Below the radio module is shown, ready for an in-the-ear and canal-shaped product max. size 25.3 x 26.0 x 19.0 mm (ITE FS) to min. size 24.0 x 15.0 x 18.0 mm (ITC).
