Transport and storing
When storing the appliance for winter, it is necessary to make sure there is no water in the appliance as frost could be cause the appliance to get damaged.
Unplug the pump every time it is to be transported! The pump must be emptied to the full extent and stored in a place protected against frost. Rinsing the pump with appropriate oil (e.g. vegetable oil) may prevent, to some extent, mechanical sealing from sticking.
Assembly first start-up
Pre-filter and screen for impurities
If water contains sand, the pump must be fitted with a profiler (can be
supplied as an accessory) between the suction hose and the pump body (pic. E).
A suction branch w ith a reverse valve and a screen for impurities must
necessarily be used. If sand enters the slip strip sealing (engine – pump
transmission shaft), it can get damaged! This would represent damage by the
appliance user, therefore, not covered by the warranty not even in the
warranty period.
Safety instructions for first start-up
Caution: The pump must not run empty.
Do not use the pump to pump drinking water! The user is responsible to third
persons as far as using the
pump (pumping station, etc.) is concerned.
To be used on connections with a safety switch against stray current (FI)
only!
Before putting the appliance into operation, a qualified electrician must
check w hether the required electrical safety equipment is in place.
Electric connection by means of a socket.
Check the voltage. The technical details on the label must correspond to the
electric network voltage. If the pump is used in ponds, w ells, etc. and in
appropriate water equipment’s, standards applicable in the countries where the
pump is used must necessarily be adhered to.
Electric pumps used outside must be fitted w ith a rubber electric cable, H07RNF type, according to DIN 57282 or DIN 57245 standards.
When the pump is being operated, no people or animals are allowed to stay or plunge in the pumped liquid (e.g. swimming pools, cellars, etc.).
The pumped liquid temperature must not exceed +35 °C. If an extension cable is used, it must exclusively be made out of rubber, H07RNF type, according to DIN 57282 or DIN 57245 standards. A pump that is plugged must never be touched, lifted or carried by cable. It is necessary to make sure the connecting socket is always in a distance from water and moisture and the plug is protected against moisture.
Before putting the pump into operation, check whether the electric cable
and/or the socket are not damaged.
Unplug the appliance before any w ork on the pump.
The pump must never be installed in moist shafts (risk of shortcut, damage as

appliance as designated.
Pump overloading by continuous operation.
Thermal fuse
A probe is built into the engine that automatically switches the pump off if a certain temperature has been exceeded and/or sw itches the pump on after it has been cooled. This increases the service life of the pump for several times and prevents thermal damage of the electric engine.
Thermal fuse/engine circuit switch
Cooling down time is app. 25 minutes; after the pump is automatically switched on, prevent any dangerous situation related to automatic starting. If the engine circuit switch is switched on, it is necessary to detect the cause and remove it (see “Troubleshooting“). Information given here cannot be used for “home-executed” repairs as they require specific expert know ledge. A customer service centre must always be contacted w hen any failures are faced.
To prevent pump overheating, appropriate air supply must be provided!
Not to be put to tight or moist shafts and not to be covered!
Safety instructions for the operator
The appliance to be used only after the Operating Instructions have carefully
been read.
Safety instructions included in these Operating Instructions must be followed.
