PREPARATION FOR USE
Remove all packaging material, and remove the accessory. Remove all adhesive foils, stickers or paper from the appliance. Wash the parts which will come in contact with the food in hot water with soap before first use. If you want to cut bigger amounts of food, you may use the tray in the bottom part of the guiding board for storing away cut food. Place the cutter on a dry place on a table or kitchen desk with good surface adhesion.
Assembling the cutter (B5, B6, B7, B8)
Insert the thumb protector B8 into the opening in the feeding device B6 and
secure by pushing lightly (an audible clap will sound). Both parts will remain
attached. Fold down the guiding board B5 and slide the feeding device B6 on
the board so that the protrusion on the bottom part of the feeding device fits
into the protrusion in the guiding groove of the board. The feeding device
must move on the guiding board lightly. Then slide the food holder B7 on the
feeding device from the side. When using the cutter correctly, the food holder
serves as a hand rest and thumb protector.
Slices thickness regulator (B1)
Set the desired thickness of the slice in a range of 0 – 15 mm by turning the
B1 disc. The thickness of the slice is marked on the B2 scale.
Switch and safety switch (A1, A2)
For putting the cutter into operation, it is necessary to press both the switches A1, A2. First press the A1 switch (hold it down) and then press the safety switch A2. Releasing the switches, the cutter will turn off automatically.
USING THE CUTTER
Consider these following tips for processing examples and inspiration whose
purpose is not to provide a manual but to show ways of different food
processing. The cutter is
designed for cutting bread, pastry, smoked goods, meat, cheese, vegetable, and
fruit. From time to time, we recommend pausing the operation, turning the
appliance off and removing parts of ingredients that have stuck on the knife
or the dish (see par. I. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS).
ingredient | recommended slice thickness of the cut food. |
---|---|
pastry, bread | 10 mm |
cheese, smoked goods (soft salami) | 3 mm (wet the knife with cheese so that |
the slices do not stick)
smoked goods (ham, flitch)| 2 mm
smoked goods (dry-hard salami.| 1 mm
Set the desired thickness of cut slices by turning regulator B1. Place the food on the feeding device B6 and push it fluently to the cutting knife with the holder B7. Pressing both the switch and the safety switch A1, and A2, the cutter will turn on. The cut slices fall on the tray B9 placed next to the cutter. If you want to interrupt or stop cutting, release the A1 and A2 switches.
Note
The maximum time of operation is 6 minutes, then leave the appliance to rest
and cool down for approx. 30 min. If the propulsion unit is overloaded, there
might be vibrations in the cutter. In such a case, turn the cutter off and
keep a break approx. 15 min. necessary for cooling down the propulsion unit.
MAINTENANCE
Before any handling of the appliance pull out the fork of the supply cord A4 from the el. outlet. Do not use rough and abrasive cleaning agents (e.g. sharp objects, scrapers, diluents or other dissolvents)! You may remove the propulsion unit A, knife B3, and board for slice thickness setting B4 for easier cleaning. Pushing the A3 button you will release the arrest of the propulsion unit in the cutter and you will then remove it by its folding out (pic. 3). Clean the propulsion unit A with a damp cloth and soap. Remove the slice thickness setting board from the cutter by turning the regulator B1 until the board B4 is unscrewed. Clean all accessories immediately after use in hot water with soap (you can use a dishwasher). Hold the knife by the plastic holder in its center and release it by turning it clockwise all the way. Then lightly slide the knife out from the cutter (pic. 4). Be very careful when cleaning the knife! Pay attention that the cutting edges of the accessories do not come in contact with hard objects which blunt them and thus decrease their efficiency. Some foods may discolor the accessory. This has, however, no effect on the functions of the appliance and this discoloration will usually disappear with time. Never dry the plastic die-cast over a heat source (e.g. stove, el./gas cooker). After cleaning, store the appliance in a dry, dustless, safe place, out of reach of children and persons sui juris.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
If the dimensions allow, there are labels of materials used for the production of packing, components, and accessories as well as their recycling on all parts. The symbols specified on the product or in the accompanying documentation mean that the used electrical or electronic products must not be disposed of together with municipal waste. For proper disposal of the product, hand it over at special collection places where it will be received free of charge. Suitable disposal of the product can help to maintain valuable natural resources and to prevent possible negative impacts on the environment and human health, which could be the possible consequences of improper waste disposal. Ask for more details at the local authorities or at a collection site. Fines can be imposed for improper disposal of this type of waste in agreement with the national regulations. If the appliance is to be put out of operation, after disconnecting from the power supply we recommend its cutoff, and in this way it will not be possible to use the appliance again.
More extensive maintenance or maintenance requiring intervention in the inner parts of the appliance must be carried out by professional service! Failure to comply with the instructions of the manufacturer will lead to the expiration of the right to guarantee repair!
