OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The unit is designed to cut hair and beards..
CUTTING

  1. Sit the person in front of you on a chair, so that the person’s head is at the level of your chest.
  2. Cover the person’s neck and shoulders to protect against falling hair.
  3. Brush the hair.
  4. Switch on the appliance.
  5. Cut the hair, applying slow repeated movements. Always cut small sections of hair. We recommend starting with a higher blade guard, then using the lower ones.
  6. The length of the cut can be adjusted slightly using the cut height adjustment lever (Fig. 5).
  7. For easier cutting of longer and curly hair you may use a comb against the blades. Remove the cut hair to prevent clogging of the mechanism.
  8. To cut the hair around the ears and on the nape of the neck, remove the blade guard.
  9. Before you cut the ear line, comb the hair over the ears. To straighten the line on the nape of the neck, turn the mechanism vertically to the skin, and create a clean line, using slow movements (Figs. 6-8).
  10. When putting down the unit during use, always switch it off.
  11.  Switch the unit off after use.
  12. When using the unit in a bathroom, make sure you switch it off immediately after use, and disconnect it from the wall outlet, as the proximity of water or any contact of the unit with water is very dangerous, even when the unit is switched off!
Switch the unit off when changing the blade guards!

CUTTING OVER A COMB OR THE FINGERS
This technique requires certain skill; use it when you want a cut longer than 12 mm.

  1.  Use the unit without the blade guard.
  2. Comb a small lock of hair upwards, hold it using a comb or the fingers.
  3. Cut the hair that overhangs the fingers or the comb. Comb frequently to remove cut hair.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING!
Before cleaning the unit, always disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet! Clean the blades with the supplied brush after each use. We recommend oiling the blades after every other use. Apply several drops of oil to the teeth, and switch on the unit to work the oil between the blades. Don’t use hair oil, petroleum or oil containing solvents to lubricate the blades. These can slow the movement of blades when they dry. The surface of the unit may only be cleaned using a wet cloth. Don’t use any detergents or hard objects as they may damage the unit’s surface!
Never clean the unit under running water, do not rinse it, and do not submerge it in water! The protective cover should be put on the blades after cleaning.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Cause Solution
Motor does not run. Plug inserted into the mains outlet incorrectly or
insufficiently. Check the plug connection.
The mains outlet is not live. Check for voltage, e.g. by connecting another

appliance.
The supply cable is damaged.| Refer the unit to an authorized service center for testing and repair.
The blades do not cut properly.| The blades are not set or oiled well, or they are blunt.| Disconnect the cable from the socket. Check the setting of blades and oil them. If the quality of the cut does not improve, the blades are blunt and you need to replace them.

ACCUMULATOR DISPOSAL
The appliance contains an Ni-MH accumulator. This accumulator type contains substances that may damage the environment when decomposing. Prior to the appliance disposal or the accumulator replacement, remove the original accumulator and take it to a designated collection yard.
WARNING!

  • Never throw the accumulator into a fire!
  • Never disassemble the accumulator!
  • Never shorten the accumulator terminals!
  • Be careful when the accumulator is damaged and leaks; the accumulator electrolyte solution is of alkali nature. When your skin gets sprayed, rinse it immediately with water and soap and seek medical assistance. For removing or replacing the accumulator, contact professional service.
