WARNINGS

1.1. Read this manual carefully before installation!
Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing a product of our brand. In these instructions, we will familiarise you with the use, construction, maintenance, and other information on Rotenso brand buffer storage tanks.
The product is not intended to be handled: a. by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, etc. b. by persons with insufficient knowledge and experience unless they have been duly trained.
The manufacturer reserves the right to make technical changes to the product.
We recommend using the product indoors with an air temperature of +2°C to +45°C and relative humidity of max. 80%. The manufacturer, Rotenso Sp. z o.o., 16 Szyb Walenty St., 41-700 Ruda Alaska, Poland, ensures that the packaging meets requirements of § 3 and 4 of Act No. 477/2001 Coll. on the packaging and on amendments to certain acts, as amended later regulations.
Remember

  1. When installing the buffer tank, read the operating and installation instructions enclosed with the unit. This document must be permanently located in the place where the tank is used and is always required for inspection by the service technician.
  2. The tank must not be operated without an efficient safety valve (applies to a closed system).
  3. The company is not responsible for improper operation of the safety valve caused by an incorrectly installed valve and installation errors.
  4. Faults revealed during the warranty period should be reported to the manufacturer’s service.
  5. The heating system should be vented before the start of the heating season.
  6. The filling level of the heating system should be checked periodically.
  7. If the tank is installed in a closed system, it is necessary to install a diaphragm vessel. If a diaphragm vessel is already installed, its capacity must be increased accordingly.
  8. Do not prevent water from dripping from the safety valve – do not block the outlet of the safety valve. If water leaks from the safety valve all the time, it means that the pressure in the water supply system is too high or the safety valve is faulty. The discharge outlet of the valve should point downwards. It is recommended to place a drainage funnel under the valve. It is also possible to place a drainage hose on the outlet spigot to collect leakage water when the safety valve is opened. The hose should be heat-resistant up to +80°C, with an internal diameter of 9 mm and a maximum length of 1.2 m, leading into the drain with a downward slope (min. 3%) in an environment where the temperature does not fall below 0°C. The hose has to be protected against decreasing of the surface flow (squeezing, clogging) and its outlet has to be visible (to check the valve operation)
  9. All maintenance and installation work must be carried out in accordance with current health and safety regulations.

1.2. Function description
Accumulation tanks serve for the accumulation of excessive energy from the heat source. The source may be a solid fuel boiler, heat pump, fireplace inserts, etc.
The AQTxxxSBHA and AQTxxxSBSA type tanks serve for the accumulation of heat in the heating system; the operation agent is heating water. The accumulation tank inclusion in the heating system with the heat source provides an ideal operation of the heat source under beneficial temperature conditions. The main benefit is the optimizing of the heat source operation (i.e., with maximum efficiency) when the unconsumed heat accumulates in the tank. The tanks are made of a steel plate and tested by 1.5 MPa multiple of operation pressure value, without any inner surface treatment. The tanks are insulated with hard polyurethane Freon-free foam with 42 mm thickness, with great insulation ability. The top housing is made of sheet metal and with a powder paint surface finish. The installation conditions AQT50SBHA and AQT100SBHA is a stationery and suspension accumulation tank for vertical installation on a solid, sufficiently bearing base or wall. AQT250SBSA is the only stationary tank for vertical installation on a solid, sufficiently bearing base or wall.
Accumulation tanks AQT50SBHA, AQT10SBHA, and AQT250SBSA cannot be used for the accumulation of hot water-drinking water.
1.3. The design of suitable volume and tank installation
The design of the accumulation tank volume is performed by the heating designer, or a person sufficiently qualified for the design of the heating systems.
Installation of tanks must be performed by a specialist plumber who will confirm the fact by a stamp in the warranty sheet.
Made in the Czech Republic.
WARNING! The appliance has to be mounted at a convenient place, it means that the appliance must be easily available for potential necessary maintenance, repair or replacement, as the case may be. No stop fitting can be put between the secure fitting of the heating circuit and the storage tank!!!

 INSTALLATION

  • Buffer tanks should be installed in a dry room. Do not install the tank in rooms where the ambient temperature may fall below 0°C.
  • The tank should be connected by a qualified installer. Confirmation of the installation in the guarantee card is required.
  • Due to the design of the tank, it should only be mounted vertically.
  • Buffer tanks should preferably be mounted close to the main heat source.
  • Buffer tanks can be connected to open- and closed-system installations. The pressure of the heating system (closed system) must not exceed the maximum working pressure of the tank (0.3 MPa).
  • Buffer tanks used in an open installation should be connected to an open vessel secured according to PN-B02413.
  • Buffer tanks used in a closed installation should be secured with a properly selected safety valve with pressure not higher than the maximum working pressure of the tank.
  • The installation should additionally be equipped with a diaphragm vessel of appropriate capacity.

LAUNCHING

After connecting the whole central heating system:

  1. Fill the central heating system with the heating medium.
  2. Check the hydraulic connections for leaks.
  3. Insulate the pipelines including the tank connections.
  4. Vent the system.

Once all the steps have been taken, the central heating system is ready for operation. The first heating up of the tank should be carried out in the presence of the installer in order to check the proper operation of the system. Before launching, we recommend leaving the heating circulation pump in operation for at least 24 hours. The heating system should be fitted with filters so that potential contaminants from the system. Taking the heater out of service If there is an interruption in use and there may be a danger of the heating medium in the tank freezing, empty the tank and the entire associated heating system.
CAUTION

  • It is forbidden to start the heating medium circuit if the buffer tank is not filled with the heating medium.
  • It is forbidden to use the buffer tank if the safety valve is found not to be working properly.
  • It is forbidden to install devices (e.g. shut-off valve, non-return valve, etc.) between the tank and the safety valve or open expansion vessel (the only exception is the Piece).
  • It is forbidden to carry out independent repairs of the tank.
  • It is forbidden to stop water leakage from the safety valve.

UTILIZATION
A service fee for providing return and recovery of packaging material has been paid for the packaging in which the product was delivered. The service fee was paid pursuant to Act No 477/2001 Coll., as amended, at EKO-KOM a.s. The client number of the company is F06020274. Take the water tank packages to a waste disposal place determined by the municipality. When the operation terminates, disassemble and transport the discarded and unserviceable heater to a waste recycling center (collecting yard), or contact the manufacturer.
