Installation Instructions
Set-Up
-
Unscrew the three vertical filter bowls and remove the wrapping from the cartridges and reassemble. A filter spanner is included in the kit for loosening the filter bowls.
-
Do not over-tighten the filter bowls when reassembling.
-
Connect a water supply hose to the fitting marked ‘Mains inlet connection’ (see fig. 1).
-
A hose lock type connection kit can be purchased to simplify the hose connection. (Part no. KIT01300 Brass fittings kit or KIT01301 Nylon fittings kit.)
-
Cut and connect a suitable length of ¼” tube to the wastewater connection which is marked ‘DRAIN’ (see fig. 2).
-
This tube is the wastewater tube and must discharge into the nearest drain.
-
Cut and connect a suitable length of ¼” tube and attach the connection marked ‘FAUCET’ (see fig. 2). This will discharge pure water into the storage tank.
-
Identify the small R.O. Plug which is packaged in the R.O. Membrane bag.
-
Lubricate the two O Rings and insert this plug into the notched side of the center white tube of the membrane (see fig. 3).
-
Remove the cap on the left-hand side of the front R.O. Housing and insert the blue R.O. membrane with the large black rubber seal towards the open end of the housing
(see fig. 4). -
Screw the end cap of the membrane housing in place and refit the inlet tube.
-
Remove the cap on the left-hand side of the front R.O. Housing and insert the blue R.O. membrane with the large black rubber seal towards the open end of the housing
(see fig. 4). -
Screw the end cap of the membrane housing in place and refit the inlet tube.
-
Remove the right-hand cap of the second R.O. Housing and repeat the process.
-
Temporarily remove the tube on the inlet connection of the R.O. Filter housing (see fig. 2), and turn the water supply on, allowing the water to flush through the first three vertical filters for 2-3 minutes until all visible impurities have disappeared.
-
Turn the water supply off and reconnect the tube.
-
Open the flushing valve by turning the grip parallel to the tube (see fig. 4).
-
Turn the water supply on, and test the system for leaks.
-
Allow the system to run for 5 minutes before closing the flushing valve. The TDS reading will improve over 24-48 hours.
Maintenance
- Open the flushing valve and allow the water to flush the membrane and run to drain for 10 minutes once a week. Once complete, close the valve completely. (Turn the grip 90° to the tube.)
- Replace the three vertical pre-filters every 3 months, or more frequently in very hard water areas (300ppm+).
Optional Extras
- Pre R.O. Softening filter, for use in hard water areas to bring TDS readings down and enhance R.O. Membrane life. (Part no. FH1K plus fittings.)
- Male Hose lock type fittings kit. Part no. KIT01600 Brass fittings kit or KIT01601 Nylon fittings kit.)
