GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • When installing the Digital Motor Interface (DMI) with DC motors, the Data & Power Adaptor Cable (Ref # 9027112, sold separately) is required for proper installation.
  • The Control4 to Digital Motor Interface should be connected using the required Data & Power Adaptor Cable (Ref # 9027112, sold separately).
  • One (1) Interface is used for each Sonesse 50 RS485 and Sonesse 30 RS485 motor (as per Somfy SDN motor guidelines).
  • A Cat5e (or better) cable is required for communication between the Glydea ULTRA SDN and the Control4 to DMI.

NOTE: To manually disconnect the interface from the network, press and hold the SETUP button for seven (7) seconds.
The interface will be disconnected from the network when the inclusion LED starts flashing ORANGE.
If a device was removed manually, you will not be able to delete the motor from the Control4 system.

NETWORK SETUP

NOTE: In order for the Digital Motor Interface to become fully operational, all connections must be properly made according to the wiring diagram, and the limits of the motor must first be set. Please refer to the respective motor instructions on how to set the limits.

Identifying the Digital Motor Interface into a network
  1. Upon power-up, the RIGHT LED will flash ORANGE indicating its firmware version number.

    • Ex. Version 3.2
    • 3 ORANGE flashes
    • 2 GREEN flashes
    • Left LED shows power >> solid GREEN
    • Right LED shows Zigbee status
(Upon powering the device: LED will slowly flash ORANGE indicating device is in inclusion mode.)
  2. Once joined to the Zigbee network — RIGHT LED turns solid ORANGE

    • RIGHT LED from ORANGE to GREEN — indicates Zigbee communication
  3. To reset your device, press and hold the SETUP button for seven (7) seconds.

    • Device will now be in factory mode.

NOTE: If inclusion is unsuccessful (not blinking ORANGE), please retry step 3.

LED Indicators
  • LEFT = power LED
  • RIGHT = Zigbee / SDN Communication
    • Blinking ORANGE & GREEN >>> communication to motor
    • Blinking ORANGE >>> device is in inclusion mode
    •  Solid ORANGE >>> device is connected to the Zigbee network
Disconnecting the Digital Motor Interface from a Network
  1. SELECT the disconnect command on your Zigbee controller.

NOTE: To manually disconnect the Digital Motor Interface from the network, press and hold the SETUP button for seven (7) seconds. The Digital Motor Interface will be disconnected from the network when the inclusion LED starts flashing ORANGE.

OPERATION WITH CONTROL4

  • OPEN
  • CLOSE
  • GO TO Percentage
  • STOP

MANUAL OPERATION

The SETUP button can be used to manually operate the motor at any time as follows:

  • Repeatedly pressing and releasing the SETUP button within ½ second will drive the motor in a sequence of DOWN-STOP-UP-STOP.
    • 1st press – DOWN command
    • 2nd press – STOP command
    • 3rd press – UP command
    • 4th press – STOP command
  • Example:
