SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Replace the safety glasses when necessary. Scratched or corroded glasses reduce visibility and can put safety at risk. Discard damaged safety glasses immediately.
  • The safety glasses are not unbreakable and do not provide protection from molten metal, bright light, or hot objects.
  • Some people can have an allergic reaction to skin contact with the material. Seek medical attention if such problems occur.
  • Eye protection worn over spectacles can transmit the force of impact and put the user at risk.
  • Risk · The eye-protectors are designed to protect the user from impact and UV protection to the eyes, where appropriate.

Conform with the requirements in the relevant EU Regulations/ directives.

TECHNICAL DATA

EC Type-examination for this model was carried out by SGS Fimko Oy, P.O. Box 30 (Sarkiniementie 3), 00211 Helsinki, Finland.
Notified Body Number: 0598 Marking

DESCRIPTION

MECHANICAL STRENGTH

Level of impact

Increased robustness

| Impact speed

5.lm/s

| Product marking

s

---|---|---
Low energy impact| 45m/s| F
Medium energy impact| 120m/s| B
High energy impact| 190m/s| A

  • If the lens/visor and frame/housing/forehead protection do not have identical markings for mechanical strength, the entire eye protection is rated in the lowest class.

  • If the impact protection rating is followed by the letter ”T” i.e.
“FT”, the eye protection does provide protection from fast-moving particles at extreme temperatures (-5°C/+S5°C).

  • If the impact resistance is not followed by the letter “T” the eye protection must only be used at room temperature for protection from impact.

OPTIC CAPACITY (LENS ONLY)

OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

APPLICATIONS (FRAME AND LENS)

Both the lens and housing/forehead protection must be marked with “9” in addition to the impact ratings “F”, “B” or “A”.

FILTER DESIGNATION (LENS ONLY)

  • When the filter identification is followed by the letter “C”, e.g. 2C, this does not reduce the ability to recognize colors.
  • Make sure that the specifications for replacement filter lenses are equivalent to those replaced. The hardened mineral glass must only be used together with a suitable back lens. The glasses only provide limited protection.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

  • Eye protection should after use be stored in a clean, separate place without excessive heat and humidity.
  • Storage temperature= 0°C -40°C.
  • Relative humidity= 30% – 80%.
  • Transport the eye protection in its original pack, or in an equivalent container.
  • Make sure that the eye protection is undamaged before use. Scratched or damaged eyepieces should be replaced.
  • Note that eye protection from rapidly moving particles worn over normal glasses of the standard type may transmit impact and thereby put the user at risk.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

  • Eye protection should be cleaned with a mild soap solution or suitable lens cleaning detergent.
  • The eye protection can also be sterilized with a mild disinfection solution.
  • Do not use solvents to clean the eye protection.
  • Note that some people can have an allergic reaction to skin contact with materials.

Important: Never use any form of abrasive material or solvent on the glasses.

AGlNG AND SPOILAGE

  • All the products are made of stabilized plastic material that should not age excessively during the expected life span of the product.
  • Plastic can age in conditions with strong UV light.
  • As a rule, eyepieces should be replaced after 2 years of use.
  • Always discard damaged safety glasses immediately.
