If “M” is display on screen it indicates the focal length requires manual adjustment.
If not displayed, adjustment is automatic.

Reflection Direction Adjustment

The speedlite head can be tilted up by 90°and lowered by -7; it can be rotated horizontally by 90°to 180. By pointing the speedlite head toward a wall or ceiling, the flash will bounce off the surface before illuminating the subject. This can soften shadows behind the subject for a more natural-looking shot.

Mode Function

TTL Flash Mode A test mode in which the flash output is determined by the actual amount of light passing through the camera lens.

Short press “M” button until “TIC mode is displayed. Short press “Direction Key” to adjust exposure compensation.

M Manual Flash Mode The flash output index can be set as needed and the flash output is adjustable from 1/128 power to 1/1th full power in 113th stop increments.

Short press “M” button until “M” mode is displayed, then short press “Direction Key” to adjust exposure compensation.

Multi Stroboscopic Flash Mode

The strobe flash allows you to fire a rapid series of flashes. You can set the flash frequency, the number of the flashes and the flash output.

Short press “M” button until “Multi” mode is displayed, then short press “SET” button until the display blinks. Short press “C’ or “)” to adjust the settings.

Please do not use stroboscopic flash more than 10 times in succession. After triggering ten times, please allow the speedlite to rest for at least 15 minutes.

Optical Wireless Transmission(slave mode) Short press “M” button until ” ” Optical Command Flash Triggering is displayed.

Channel
Short press “SET” button until “CH1” blinks on the display, and then short press “t or “r to adjust channel.

Group
Short press “SET” button until ” fl ” blinks on the display, and then short press “(11 or “)” to adjust group.

NW645-C/N/S slave flash is compatible with Canon/Nikon/SONY original optical master flashes (The flash can be triggered when the channel is matched up within the groups.)

S1 Optical Control Mode
In S1 mode, the flash unit can function as an optical S1 secondary flash which helps create multiple lighting effects. This applies to a manual flash environment.

In M manual flash mode, short press “M” button until “Si” mode is displayed, then short press “Direction Key” to adjust exposure compensation.

S2 Optical Control Mode
In S2 mode, the flash unit can function as an optical S2 secondary flash which will ignore the pre-fresh given by a TTL flash. This allows it to support the main flash operating in TTL mode.

In M manual flash mode, short press “M” button until “S2” mode is displayed, then short press “Direction Key” to adjust exposure compensation.

High-speed Sync
The High-speed Sync is an effective function when you want to use aperture priority for fill-flash portraits. Long press “M” button or set to high-speed sync in camera menu. The display will show corresponding icon ” “.

Note: NW645-C: High-speed sync mode(secondary-curtain sync) is enabled on both camera and flash. NW645-S: High-speed sync mode(secondary-curtain sync) is enabled only on flash. NW645-N: High-speed sync mode(secondary-curtain sync) is enabled only when it is on camera.

First-curtain Mode
TTL mode can be divided into first-curtain mode and second-curtain mode. First-curtain mode is set by default.

second-curtain Mode
Long press “M” button in TTL mode or set to high-speed sync mode in camera menu. The display will show corresponding icon ” “.

NW645-C can be set to secondary -curtain sync on both camera and flash. The icon will display “ “.
NW645-N can be set to secondary curtain sync only on camera. The icon will display “ ”
NW645-S can be set to secondary curtain sync only on camera. The icon will not display “ “.

Buzz function
Long press “SET” button for two seconds, to activate the buzz function. Press again for two seconds to deactivate.

Test Button
When ” ” button turns red, it indicates the speedlite is ready to fire. Press this button to fire the test flash. (If the button shows pale yellow, the flash is not ready to fire. )

Installation and Use

Shooting with a diffuser
Using a diffuser can increase the flash’s diffusion range, make the light softer and reduce the shadow.

Mounting the diffuser on the speedlite head.
Use the flash to achieve the desired effect by adjusting the speedlite to the right position.

Shooting with a Built-in Wide-angle Diffuser Panel When the distance between the camera and the subject is less than approximately two centimeters , a wide-angel diffuser panel can be used to take a more natural close-up.

Tilt the speedlite head up by 45°and pull out the wide-angle diffuser panel and the reflection panel.
Push the reflection panel back in and keep the wide-angle diffuser panel out.
Installation and Use

When usingthewide-angle diffuser panel, the focus length of the speedlite should be set to the minimum.

AA Battery Installation

Slide the battery compartment cover in the same direction as arrow and open it by thumb.
Remove four M batteries from their packaging.

Insert the batteries correctly inside the compartment respecting the correct polarity positions.
Slide the battery cover back in place. The battery cover will be locked when there is an audible click.

Mounting the speedlite on the camera

Rotate the locking ring in the direction of the arrow to the highest point.
Slide the speedlite into the camera’s hot shoe fully.

Twist the locking ring clockwise to tighten it.
To remove the speedlite, loosen the locking rings to the top, then remove the speedlite from the hot shoe of camera.

Safety Notes

  1. Please do not use the flash within close proximity of flammable gases, chemicals(such as gasoline, solution, etc. ) and other similar potentially explosive materials.
  2. Please avoid trigger the flash directly at moving traffic to avoid causing an accident.
  3. Please do not fire the flash directly into the eyes within short distances. This could lead to visual impairment or, in severe cases, blindness.
  4. Please do not charge a dry cell battery.
  5. Please do not use speedlite in rain or damp environment.
  6. Please do not use any defective batteries in this speedlite which may result in a malfunction.
  7. Remove the battery when device is not to be used for an extended period.
  8. If the speedlite does not operate as it should, please follow these steps. Switch off the power of speedlite and camera, mount the speedlite on the hot shoe of camera and switch on the power of speedlite and camera again. If abnormal operation continues, replace the batteries.
  9. If the device operates abnormally, or a partial function failure occurs during use, please replace with new AA batteries or check whether the locking mount is loose
  10. When not using the speedlite, please ensure to power off both speedlite and camera before removing the speedlite. Do not remove with excessive force.
  11. The flash will power off automatically after approx. 30 minutes of inactivity. Please restart the flash to continue using.
