SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Users must be instructed in the use of filters and must be capable of using a breathing apparatus.

The type and concentration of toxic substances must be known.

Make sure that the ambient conditions cannot deteriorate during the time spent in the dangerous area. In such cases a breathing apparatus must be used.

Filtered breathing apparatus are not a reliable method of protection if there are contaminants that cannot be noticed by smell, taste, irritation of the eyes or the respiratory channels. Use other types of protection in such cases. Follow any special regulations. -
Gas filters do not provide protection from particles, and particle filters do not provide protection from gas. Use combination filters in doubtful cases.
Do not use the filter after the specified expiry date or after 6 month if the package has been opend. -
Improper use can cause serious personal injury, health problems or death.
WARNING! -
Double gas filter for use in half mask 906179 without fan assisted air supply.

P3 R = dust and particle filter. R (= reusable) which means that the filter can be used several times.
FITTING
- Align the cartridge to the base of the mask and fit together.
- Turn the filter clockwise until it stops.
- Remove the filter by turning it anticlockwise.
- When double filters are used, always replace both filters at the same time. Both filters must always be of the same filter class.
NOTE:
The half mask has two filter cartridges. Suitable for half mask model 906179.
USE
HOW TO USE
- Check packaging and filter before use. Do not use the filter if there are any signs of damage or holes in the packaging or diaphragm, if the filter is deformed, or is cracked or otherwise damaged.
- Read these instructions carefully before use.
- Replace the filter immediately when it feels more difficult to breathe.
- Do not replace the filter in a contaminated environment.
- Release the fasteners, screw the filter on the half mask, and check the tightness.
NOTE:
Facial hair and scars etc. can result in inferior tightness.
LIMITATIONS
Do not use the filter cartridges in the following circumstances:
- When there is an increase in the oxygen content or when the concentration exceeds 23.5%. The increase in the oxygen content can be very dangerous. The limit is not definite, but even a moderate increase in the content increases the risk. An increase in the oxygen content means that sparks are a greater fire hazard, and that a fire would be more intense.
- In areas where there is a risk of explosion.
- In the vicinity of significant fire risk or molten metal, because of the risk of the active carbon in the filter igniting (formation of CO/CO2).
- The oxygen content in the inhaled air must not be less than 19%.
- Never enter unventilated tanks, pits, channels or small spaces with filtered breathing protection. In such cases a full face breathingapparatus must be used.
- Filters and filter sets heavier than 300 g must only be used with a full face mask.
CHECK
- Check all plastic and rubber parts for for cracks and fatigue damage.
- Check that the breathing filter is correctly fitted and in good condition.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING AND STORAGE
- Remove the breathing filter from the mask after use and store separately.
- The breathing filter does not need to be cleaned.
- Store chemical breathing filters in an airtight container when not in use so that they are protected from moisture.
- Dispose of used filter cartridges in accordance with local regulations.
- Pay attention to the storage time and date of expiry. The product can not be used 6 months after the package as been opened.
WARNING!
Unsuitable storage conditions can shorten the storage life of the filters.
USEFUL SERVICE LIFE

The useful life of the product is affected by the following factors.

The activity of the user and breathing rate.

The type, viscosity and concentration of the contaminants.
Environmental conditions such as temperature, relative humidity and air pressure. -
Whether the product has been handled correctly.

Check the mask immediately and replace the filter if the user experiences irritation, or can smell or taste the contaminants.
USEFUL LIFE OF BREATHING FILTERS

The chemical breathing filter must be used before the expiry date, which is given on the pack.

The useful life of the product is affected by the following factors.

The activity of the user and breathing rate.

The type, viscosity and concentration of the contaminating substance.
Environmental conditions such as humidity, air pressure and temperature. -
Correct handling of the product.

Replace the filter immediately if the user detects the smell of the contaminating substance or other strong smell.
