- Remove the large plug to the left of the screen by lifting the handle like a plug.

- Plug the female end of the T harness into the factory harness. Make sure the handle is locked back in the down position.

- Turn the key onto the RUN position, and self-programming will start.
NOTE: If the vehicle ever goes in for service and it causes the camera system to stop functioning, simply plug the OBDII connector and flash module back into the OBDII plug, wait for the completion of self-programming, and remove the module. Place the flash module in the glove box for future usage in the same vehicle if necessary.
Radio self-programming procedure
- Connect module to OBDII plug
- Turn key to the position. Wait 20 seconds
- Radio will begin the programming sequence and will take 1-2 minutes.
- Once the radio restarts, put the vehicle into reverse to confirm the black screen or camera image and disconnect the flash module from the OBDII plug.
- Place flash module into the glove box and leave for future use.
NOTE: Once the flash module is connected to the vehicle, it CAN NOT be re-used on a different vehicle.
Video board removal if faulting
- The MyTouch module provides a small video conditioning board for the purpose of cleaning up a poor camera signal
- If you experience poor video, intermittent video, or no video please perform the following steps
Locate the video board shown below:
Unplug the video board and locate the White and Gray/black stripe wires. Clip the two wires and connect the camera or add an RCA to connect the camera RCA to the wire side (not video board plug side) as follows:
- Video Negative → White wire
- Video Positive → Gray wire/Black stripe
- Connect your camera power and ground to a separate ACC and Ground. Do not use module outputs
- This will complete the alteration and a clean video signal should be achieved
Ford SYNC 3 Programming Tips
- Brandmotion is committed to “SAFER CARS NOW by extending OEM technologies into existing vehicles and providing consumers with greater freedom of choice in the features and content of their vehicles.
- Ford has introduced an update to its “SYNC 2 and 3” system that directly affects our 9002-2751 interface for the 8-inch OEM displays. At this time, we have not found an effective method of determining before installation if the vehicle has been updated or not. If the vehicle has the updated SYNC 2 and 3, the 9002-2751 will be unable to program the system to accept a rearview camera until the following is performed.
- You can still use the 9002-2751 to program the updated SYNC 2 and 3 systems, but it will require some modifications to the programmer module. You will need a Windows-based computer and an internet connection to complete the modifications.
- First, you will need to move the brown CAN wire pair to a different location in the OBDII connector. Please refer to the diagram below: (3 positions to the left)
Power the vehicle on and wait about a minute for the radio to finish booting. Connect the modified connector to the OBD-II port and see if programming begins. If the radio does not begin programming. you will need to contact Brandmotion Technical Support (734-619-1250) so that we can send you the necessary files to update the module itself. You will need the USB cable that comes with the interface module, a Windows-based computer, and an internet connection. If you prefer, Technical support can also remotely access your computer and guide you through updating the module. Once the module has been updated, power the vehicle on and wait about a minute for the radio to finish booting. Connect the modified connector to the OBDil port and programming will begin. The radio should cycle through diagnostic mode once or twice. Once the radio has finished rebooting, you will be able to place the vehicle in reverse and the rearview camera will be active.
