Commissioning and operation

4.1. Included with the device
Supplied in a storage box.
4.2. Review
Check the delivery for completeness and damage.
4.3. Commissioning

  • The battery pack should be charged before the initial operation.
  • Familiarise yourself with the device before starting the grinding process on teeth.
  • Only connect the device to the battery pack once switched off.
  • Put on the carry strap. You can easily affix the battery pack to the strap using the clip. The tooth grinder can then be placed in the bag provided for this purpose.
  • Plug the tooth grinder’s device connector into the socket (OUT) of the battery pack.
  • Switch on the device using the on/off switch.
  • Switch off the device after use.
  • Always switch off the device if the grinding process is interrupted.

4.4. Operation

  • Ensure that the grinding tool is cleaned, see “Cleaning and Care”. This is the only way to achieve effective grinding performance.
  • Do not forcefully press the grinding tool against the teeth. This reduces the grinding effect and the grinding tool is stressed unnecessarily.
  • Only grind the tooth at the tip using light pressure to remove the sharp edges.
  • Ensure that you only grind the tips of the teeth. If you remove too much tooth enamel, you will damage the pulp area and give pathogens an
    entryway.

Maintenance and cleaning

5.1. Cleaning and care
Clean the grinding tool after each use. Remove the grinding tool and aluminium protective cap from the device (see below for procedure) and clean it with a hard brush and water or vinegar. Thorough cleaning of both parts can also be carried out using a commercially-available cold cleaner. After cleaning, grease the clamping sleeve and the socket of the union nut (external thread).
5.2. Maintenance
Check all components for signs of damage before every use. Damaged parts should only be repaired by a qualified professional or manufacturer. If carrying out any repairs, only use original spare parts.
Removing and changing the grinding tool
Only use a genuine grinding tool (item number 22913) as a replacement grinding tool in conjunction with the pre-assembled clamping sleeve (ø 3.0 mm).
Proceed as follows:
Disconnect the mains plug before changing the tool. Never press the locking button while the device is running.

  1. Remove the aluminium protective cap.
  2. Slightly turn the union nut and press the locking button at the same time until it clicks.
  3. Open the collet chuck and swap out the tool. Clamp all tools as short as possible. Long protruding shafts bend easily and cause poor running.
  4. Replace the aluminium protective cap.

Caution! The grindstone must not protrude beyond the aluminium protection cap. If this is the case, the grindstone must be released again and the grinding pin must be moved further into the unit and re-clamped.
