Input: from Instrument
Output: to Amplifier Bass / Mids / Treble: Adjust the amount of low-end /
high-end frequencies, turning clockwise will increase the levels, counter-
clockwise to decrease.
Level: Controls the total output volume. Turning clockwise increases.
Texture: Select between two clipping styles. Down selects a bright and
smooth diode clipping circuit and up a throaty, powerful MOSFET-based clipping
circuit.
Gain: Adjusts the total amount of gain that is applied, turning this
control clockwise will increase the amount.
Power: This pedal was designed around the usage of a 9V DC power source. To avoid damage to the pedal, do not exceed 9V DC, do not use center pin positive adapters, and do not use AC power. Use only a 9V DC power source that is intended for guitar pedals. This pedal draws approximately 10mA at 9V. Please note this pedal may ship with a battery. If you are powering with a power supply we recommend removing the battery by taking the backplate off.
Tips ’n’ Tricks:
- As you turn the gain up you might want to turn the bass down to avoid a “woofy” tone. As you turn the gain down, turn the bass up or else it might sound a bit thin.
- The texture switch changes gain structure entirely – the diode clipping circuit (switch down) utilizes MOSFET based op-amp and diode clipping, the alternate position (switch up) utilizes cascaded MOSFET gain stages, sort of analogous to multiple 12ax7 tube stages combined with diode clipping.
- Lower gain settings/diode clipping mode engages a bit more treble to provide nice, crispy tones. You may want to dial the treble down to prevent excess “sizzle” when used in higher gain settings.
