BASIC OPERATION
The helmet has various basic operations including turning on/off, charging, and using different buttons for specific functions. -
SMARTPHONE USAGE
Pair your phone with the helmet via Bluetooth for making and answering calls, speed dialling, and controlling music playback. -
MESH INTERCOMTM
Enable Mesh IntercomTM for seamless communication between users without pre- grouping. You can communicate with multiple users across different channels. -
LED TAILLIGHT
You can change the light mode of the taillight for different riding conditions, including adaptive light and brake mode. -
CONFIGURATION SETTING AND FIRMWARE UPDATES
Adjust configuration settings and update firmware using the Sena Cycling App or Sena Device Manager.
Product Usage Instructions
Wearing the Helmet:
Ensure the helmet covers your ears properly for a secure fit.
Basic Operation:
- Turn On: Tap the power button for 1 second. Turn Off: Tap the power button once.
- Charging: Connect the USB cable to the DC Power Charging port for charging.
Smartphone Usage:
- Phone Pairing: Enter phone pairing mode by following the specified steps in the manual. Select S1 in the Bluetooth devices list on your phone.
- Making Calls: Use the buttons on the helmet to answer, end, or reject calls. Activate voice assistant by pressing the multi-function button.
Mesh IntercomTM:
- Turn On/Off: Press the Mesh Intercom button to toggle between on and off states.
- Channel Setting: Navigate between channels and save your preferred channel using the specified button combinations.
LED Taillight:
- Change Light Mode: Use the Light button to cycle through different light modes such as solid light, night flash, day flash, and adaptive light.
- Riding Brake: Activate high bright mode for 2 seconds by following instructions on the Sena Cycling App.
Configuration Setting and Firmware Updates:
- Adjust Settings: Modify configuration settings using the Sena Cycling App or Sena Device Manager as per your preferences.
- Firmware Updates: Keep your helmet up to date by updating the firmware through the Sena Device Manager.

WEARING THE HELMET
- Position the helmet on your head with the front covering your forehead.
- If the helmet is tipped back and is not covering your forehead then the helmet is not in the proper position.
- Position the strap adjuster below your ears so that the strap does not cover your ear.
BASIC OPERATION

Charging
- It is recommended to take off the helmet before charging. The helmet will automatically turn off while charging.
- Any 3rd party USB charger can be used with Sena products if approved by FCC, CE, IC, or other locally approved agencies.
- Using a non-approved charger may cause fire, explosion, leakage, and other hazards which may also reduce the lifetime or performance of the battery.
SMARTPHONE USAGE
Phone Pairing
- There are three ways to enter the phone pairing mode.
- The first time you turn on the Bluetooth system:
- The Bluetooth system will automatically enter the phone pairing mode when you initially turn it on or reboot it after executing a factory reset.
- To cancel phone pairing, tap any button.
- Starting with your Bluetooth system powered off:
- Starting with your Bluetooth system powered on:
- Select S1 in the list of Bluetooth devices detected.
Making and Answering Calls
Speed Dialing: Assigning Speed Dial Presets
Speed Dial Presets can be assigned through the Sena Cycling App and the Sena
Device Manager.
Using Speed Dial Presets
- Enter into the Speed Dial menu.
- Navigate forward or backward through Speed Dial Preset numbers.
- Last number redial
- Speed dial (1→2→3)
- Cancel
- Tap the Multi-function Button to proceed
Music
MESH INTERCOM
Mesh Intercom™ instantly provides effortless communication between users without a pre-grouping process. Freely communicate with virtually unlimited users in each of the 9 available channels.
Mesh Intercom On/Off
Channel Setting
- Enter into the Channel Setting.
- Navigate between channels.
- Save the channel.
- Channel order: (1 → 2 → 3 … → 8 → 9 → Exit → 1 → 2 …)
- Channel Setting always starts with channel 1.
- To automatically save a channel after setting it, wait approximately 10 seconds before pressing any other buttons.
- The channel will be saved even if you turn off the S1.
- The Sena Cycling App can also be used to change the channel.
Mute/Unmute Mic (Default: Unmute)
Use the Multi-function Button to mute/unmute the microphone in any Mesh
channel.
LED TAILLIGHT
Change the light mode
Adaptive Light (Default: Enabled)
- The Adaptive Light works in all modes.
- You can enable/disable the Adaptive Light and change the LED mode through the Sena Cycling App.
CONFIGURATION SETTING AND FIRMWARE UPDATES
Configuration Setting
You can change the configuration settings of the Bluetooth system through the
Sena Cycling App or the Sena Device Manager.

Headset Language
You can select or change the device language, which will stay saved even if the Bluetooth system is rebooted. -
Adaptive Light (Default: Enabled)
When deceleration is detected, the LED taillight will automatically illuminate at maximum brightness for 2 seconds to alert any drivers behind you -
Voice Prompt (Default: Enabled)
While some Voice Prompts may be disabled in the software configuration settings, the following voice prompts are always on:- Battery level indicator
- Speed dial
- Mesh Intercom
Firmware Upgrades
You can upgrade the firmware using the Sena Device Manager by connecting the
USB Power & Data Cable (USB-C) to your PC.

Factory Reset
If you wish to erase all of your settings, the Bluetooth system can be
restored to factory default settings using the Factory Reset feature.
Fault Reset
If the Bluetooth system is not working properly, you can easily reset the
unit:
- Open the rubber cover of the DC Power Charging & Firmware Upgrade Port. There is the Pinhole Fault Reset Button under the port.
- Gently insert a paperclip into the hole and press the Pinhole Fault Reset Button with light pressure.
Fault Reset will not restore the Bluetooth system to factory default settings.

To pair your phone with the helmet, follow the steps outlined in the
Smartphone Usage section of the manual. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your
phone and select S1 from the list of available devices.
How can I activate Mesh IntercomTM?
To activate Mesh IntercomTM, press the designated button on the helmet to turn
it on. Refer to the Mesh IntercomTM section for detailed instructions on
channel settings and usage.
Can I change the language settings of the helmet?
