Features
Overview
The ‘AAP-REMOTE’ directly interconnects with the ‘AAP-SMOKE’ & ‘AAP-HEAT’ fire detectors. This allows users to test or hush the fire detection system from a central & easy to access location. Smoke & heat detectors should be tested once every week, making the ‘AAP-REMOTE’ a valuable tool for large systems or detectors that are difficult to access.
Hush Button
The hush function on the remote (or any connected devices) only works when
the system has been activated from a real fire or heat source. DO NOT attempt
to hush the detectors when the system is under test.
Test Button
Press the test function on the remote or any of the interconnected devices &
the system will sound for roughly 15 seconds. DO NOT press any other remote or
detector buttons until the beeps from all detectors have silenced.
Learn Procedure
- Pair all ‘AAP-SMOKE’ & ‘AAP-HEAT’ detectors as detailed in their respective product manuals.
- Press & hold the ‘Primary’ ‘AAP-SMOKE’ or ‘AAP-HEAT’ detector button until the green LED flashes 3 times & then release (the red LED on the detector will begin to fast flash for 1 minute while waiting to learn a new device).
- Press & hold the ‘TEST’ button on the remote you wish to pair until the red LED flashes 2 times & then release. The red LED will fast flash once and then slow flash 3 times to indicate a successful learn.
Defaulting Procedure
Press & hold the ‘TEST’ button until the red LED flashes 4 times & then
release. The red LED will flash 4 times slowly to indicate a successful
default.
