• Please review this document before attempting installation.
• You will need basic hand tools and 2 hours of installation time.

Kit Contents Qty

• M6 x 40mm Cap Screw 1

• 8 x 1/2″ Round Screw 1

• 1/4″ x 1″ Fender Washer 1
• M6 brass insert, knurled 1

Stock Components Removal

• It is best to Google “how to remove bumper” for your particular trim.

Driver Side Hole Location

• Remove the stock shroud to allow for installation of the Big Mouth.
• Hold on to the pop-up retainer clips that retain the shroud. An
• OEM retainer clip will be used later to install the Big Mouth.

Remove Stock Components

• Remove the indicated air intake assembly by undoing the indicated bolts and plastic push clips.

Civic Type R: Add Brass Insert

• To install the Civic Type R Big Mouth, you will need to press fit the provided M6 brass insert into the indicated hole. It is highly recommended to use cyanoacrylate (CA)/super glue to help keep the insert in place. Using heat is NOT recommended.
• Screw the M6 x 40mm screw into the insert, add the glue around the insert (do not let glue get in the threads!) and press-fit until the insert is flush. Use the screw to ensure the insert has gone in straight. Remove the screw and let the glue dry for 15 mins.
• When installing the Big Mouth, fasten the screw by hand and tighten 1/8 of a turn with the Allen key. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN as you could pull the insert out.

Remove Stock Components

• Loosen (no need to remove) the indicated bolts just enough to allow the section of frame to flex (left). Position the Big Mouth such that the round protrusion lines up with the hole in the section of the frame (right).

Big Mouth Installation

• Use the supplied M6 x 40mm cap screw and OEM retainer push clip to fasten the Big
• Mouth at the shown locations. DO NOT OVERTORQUE.

• Use the supplied #8 screw and fender washer to fasten the Big Mouth from the top.
• DO NOT OVERTORQUE.

• Once the Big Mouth has been fastened through all 3 points, re-attach the section of the frame and stock air intake components that were removed/loosened before install.
• The Big Mouth should feel sturdy and free of any interference.

Final Assembly Review

• Review the install and make sure nothing is binding or causing any preload on any parts, loosen and retighten if an adjustment is necessary.
